50 Trending Haircuts Everyone Will Want in 2026

Current hair trends can be a guess of what style works for your hair type. Most people understand that they do not have the stylistic ability to pull off a style shown on the runway.

I have had clients that come in with pictures of cuts that I know will not work for them. For example, a picture of a shag cut, showed a model in the photo that had about double the hair density than most of my clients. That model’s hair would definitely give a very different look than what my client had. Instead of mimicking the picture, we changed the design of the internal layers, adjusted the weight at the bottom, and her cut had much more of the real shag movement than the picture could ever show. That is how a lot of people think of hair trends. For me, a trend is a depiction of the framework behind the shape.

I have recently seen a strong shift towards softer internal structures, lighter weights, and blending layers. I have also seen more interest in cuts that are more organic and give the hair the ability to do its own thing. Also, it mid-lengths are feeling heavy, dense and lifeless, a controlled underlayer removal is likely to make any these styles feel like more of their own. These are the strongest trends I have seen most recently, and I truly champion all of them.

#1: Modern Textured Lob with Caramel Balayage

This caramel balayage style compliments the lob shape beautifully. This style achieves the face-framing look perfectly without being too over the top. The shoulder-grazing length is the ideal length as it allows enough control to gather the hair back, and it looks more purposeful when it is down. The subtle wave in the ends produces all of the movement and means that on finer hair it will appear denser than it is. Finer hair will need a texturizing product to give volume as the body is likely to drop soon after styling. This style is particularly nice on heart shapes as it offers a nice frame around the cheek area.

Textured Asymmetrical Pixie-Bob with Diagonal Face-Framing Babylight

#2 Textured Asymmetrical Pixie-Bob with Diagonal Face-Framing Babylight

If you’re a fan of the Pixie Bob haircut you have a lot to look forward to. This is a short, asymmetrical bob with the back cut high above the jaw, one side longer than the other, with a long sweeping fringe, giving it an effortless chic look. The cut has been softened with some internal layering and has some good volumetric lifting done right at the crown. The tucked part with diagonal light at that spot makes this great layering even better as it captures light just at the right spot. This works great for fine to medium textured hair that is shaped in an oval or even a small heart. It is worth noting that for hair that is coarse and has a lot of weight this cut may require some significant maintenance with a root smudge gloss to manage the color transitions as the hair grows.

Feathered Shoulder-Grazing Shag with Curtain Micro-Bangs

#3 Feathered Shoulder-Grazing Shag with Curtain Micro-Bangs

This shag is everything I love. The soft razored points do not add weight and the long shag layers and bevels create a soft fullness. I love the way the bangs frame the face. The hair is a little coarse, straight with medium to high density. There is some layer texturizing behind the crown which you can see is the source of the volume. To be honest, those bangs and ends are going to take a hot tool and a round brush to achieve that look. If you are looking for a shag you can wake up and go without styling, this may not be the shag for you.

Auburn Shoulder-Grazing Waves with Sheer Eyelash-Skimming Fringe

#4 Auburn Shoulder-Grazing Waves with Sheer Eyelash-Skimming Fringe

I’m always drawn back to this one because that auburn color paired with a sheer eyelash-skimming fringe is just so flattering, especially with green eyes. The long interior graduation gives a nice shape to the style without feeling overly layered, and those soft air-dried S-waves are totally the type of texture that says ‘I didn’t try’. The fringe is the commitment piece here, it is going to require daily maintenance and will not forgive you if you skip it as the waves will need some good wave-defining product to hold their shape. The color will need some gloss every few weeks to prevent that auburn from looking dull. Overall, when it comes together, it really comes together.

Sculpted Shoulder-Length Lob with Interior Bevel and Gentle Face-Framing

#5 Sculpted Shoulder-Length Lob with Interior Bevel and Gentle Face-Framing

A lot of details and variables will make this haircut do a lot on its own, and this is one of the cuts that looks simple at first. The soft and gentle inward movement at the ends is due to the interior bevel and the long face-framing micro layers are just enough to keep it from looking blunt and boring. I love this look on oval faces with the center part and some subtle root depth. It is basically designed for easy grow out. This cut really needs a round-brush blow dry to hold that bevel. If your hair is very thin and limp, you may not achieve this level of definition without a blow dry, volumizing spray, and some help.

Tousled Chin-Grazing Wavy Bob with Feathered Face Frames

#6 Tousled Chin-Grazing Wavy Bob with Feathered Face Frames

This bob has a ton of personality for how simple it is! The chin-length cut and short interior layers with point cut ends framing the face enhances the natural waves and gives the hair super soft root lift that is to die for. A one inch barrel will give you the same look and then soft depth at the roots won’t be an issue when it grows out either. If you want it pin straight then some smoothing product is a must and it’s not ideal for coarse thick curls. The off-center pull with those baby hairs at the hairline look so good and give a lovely soft forehead-to-cheek transition that you barely see on any bobs.

Copper Shoulder-Grazing Layers with Soft Center Curtain and Money-Piece Highlight

#7 Copper Shoulder-Grazing Layers with Soft Center Curtain and Money-Piece Highlight

*The copper color on this is amazing!* It is a layered cut that touches the shoulders with a gentle center curtain. There is a soft money piece at the temples that brightens the whole face! The long point cut layers with a shallow root smudge and fine babylights give perfect dimension without being too much. This looks awesome on oval face shapes and medium-thick hair that is wavy naturally. There is a lot of styling flexibility with this cut. I will be honest and say that creating those loose bends will require some light heat. Copper is one of those colors that will require toning every so often to avoid looking too warm or brassy!

Center-Parted Wispy Fringe on Shoulder-Grazing Layered Lob

#8 Center-Parted Wispy Fringe on Shoulder-Grazing Layered Lob

The center part and wispy bangs look great here, and I have to say, they don’t easily date styles, which is a huge plus! The shoulder grazing layered lob and soft, face framing balayage, look amazing on this oval face! The way the balayage is painted 2-3 inches from the roots with a soft root melt and slicey ends gives a nice touch to the hair making it look modern and lived in, which we love! The narrow temple highlight is also important because it draws attention to the cheek area and brings out her blue eyes. In terms of styling, the bangs may be an issue in humid weather and the mid-lengths will at some point look brassy if not glossed regularly.

Textured Curly Shoulder-Grazing Layers with Off-Center Root Lift

#9 Textured Curly Shoulder-Grazing Layers with Off-Center Root Lift

It’s great to finally see such a good curly cut. A lot of stylists miss the mark on these, but she’s hit the jackpot with this mid-shoulder layered cut, and long framing pieces at the front. She has created a beautiful root lift that is completely natural. I would say her curl pattern is a defined 3A to 3B, with high density, which means this was most likely carved dry curl by curl, to remove bulk but keep the coil definition. The air-dry look and the effortless texture is a perfect example of how to achieve this look. To manage frizz though, you may need to use some curl specific styling products. Those subtle sun-kissed babylights at the front will also need to be toned on more porous ends to keep them from going brassy.

Textured Chin-Length Wavy Chocolate Bob with Soft Face-Framing Micro-Layers

#10 Textured Chin-Length Wavy Chocolate Bob with Soft Face-Framing Micro-Layers

I adore this chin-length chocolate brown bob! It also makes me want to convince someone to try a shorter bob. The soft face-framing micro layers with the deep side part and point cut ends look so effortless. This bob shows off all the different hair textures and types while softening the cheekbones. This hairstyle can be rocked by people with oval or heart-shaped faces, which is a huge plus! Pairing a diffuser with texture spray will take this look to the next level, so trust the process. For shine on the low-lights, use a clear gloss. The model is so cute, and her freckles and smile are a great addition to the hair color. This is something to think about when choosing a hair color!

Breezy Shoulder-Grazing Lob with Soft Root-Smudge Face-Framing

#11 Breezy Shoulder-Grazing Lob with Soft Root-Smudge Face-Framing

This lob is a simple style but it is also very easy to wear. The long layers that frame the face along with the soft interior point cutting really enhance the waves on mid to thick hair types. The soft root with warm micro babylights gives dimension and also helps space out salon visits to every 6 weeks. Natural crown lifts are beautiful, and if you have a cowlick at the crown, this is the cut for you. It works with the hair rather than against it. Overall it is a low maintenance style. Some finer hair types may require some extra texturizing, however the level of maintenance is still very reasonable. Cheeky styling refines the panels but it looks great overall.

Soft Shoulder-Length Textured Lob with Root Shadow

#12 Soft Shoulder-Length Textured Lob with Root Shadow

What really caught my attention was the one (1) silver streak in the section. It’s such a small detail, but it adds so much more to the entire lob that color would normally be needed for. The cut just above the collarbone with long diagonal face-framing layers and interior point cutting for movement, and on this texture that’s naturally wavy 2A to 2B with a medium thickness density, it looks effortless. You’ll need a little heat or a texturizer to define the waves, and I’d try not to over-thin it or it can start looking bulky instead of full, which sounds counterintuitive, but it’s true.

Glossy Mid-Chest Blunt Cut with Subtle Interior Bevel

#13 Glossy Mid-Chest Blunt Cut with Subtle Interior Bevel

I particularly appreciate your look being so clean polished and put together. The mid-chest blunt glossy cut with slight interior bevel and off-center part looks incredible with hair that is naturally straight and of medium thickness. That blunt cut gloss is stunning and unachievable with any layers. The movement and gloss without breaking up the weight line is achieved with the light point cutting and glazing service. The small temple micro-lowlights warm up the cheekbones just enough. I think this can look heavy on rounder shapes and I would say the split ends will be very noticeable so be sure to keep up with your trims!

Sunlit Chestnut Shoulder-Grazing Lob with Face-Framing S-Waves

#14 Sunlit Chestnut Shoulder-Grazing Lob with Face-Framing S-Waves

The whorl at the crown is giving this whole cut its natural lift which I love because it’s something you can’t manufacture. This is a shoulder grazing lob with long face framing layers and soft S-waves that open up the oval face beautifully. The cut uses internal long layers with point texturizing at the ends and the color is a low contrast balayage with a root melt that just looks like your hair decided to be sun kissed on its own. Maintenance includes periodic heat styling to keep the S wave defined and toning visits to avoid warm banding as the color settles.

Soft Face-Framing Long Layers with Natural Balayage

#15 Soft Face-Framing Long Layers with Natural Balayage

As I always say with face-framing techniques, it can go either way, but here it is a great example of it working. This cut has cheekbone-level face framing, interior graduation at the crown, and point-cut ends that work beautifully together to create movement. The balayage goes into a subtle root-smudge and the fine temple highlights brighten the eye area even more without saying “I just got highlights.” The cut will need a round-brush blow dry / light heat to keep the layers looking defined and if you have a very curly texture this shape would need to be regraded to work with your pattern.

Textured Sunlit Shoulder-Grazing Lob with Root Shadow

#16 Textured Sunlit Shoulder-Grazing Lob with Root Shadow

If you were to ask me what type of haircut would give you that ”just got back from a tropical vacation” look, this is it. This haircut features warm balayage highlights with some showing roots and a hint of shadow root. The hair also has some inward bevels on the ends that create shape in the hair and keeps it from looking too poofy. This is a lob so it sits on the shoulders and has a medium density. This haircut is also ideal for wavy hair since it also features some nice, beachy loose waves. It will frame an oval face beautifully and combined with everything else is just giving me all the right feels. The hair looks very mobile and alive. The fullness, low-maintenance grow-out, and all of it. The ends may need some toning to keep the brassiness away, and it probably won’t lie super flat without some heat. But that just isn’t the vibe anyway.

Natural Warm Brunette Mid-Length Waves with Sculpted Face-Framing

#17 Natural Warm Brunette Mid-Length Waves with Sculpted Face-Framing

Because the sculpted face framing basically starts at the jaw and blends into the collarbone, it doesn’t even register as ‘layers’, which is part of what makes it look good. Some movement can be created with point cut ends and light texturizing in the centre, whilst still leaving enough weight so it doesn’t go flyaway. An oval face shape, small crown cowlick which provides natural root lift, which is a fun bonus when you can use it to your advantage. The hair is medium thick and naturally wavy. For this style, you would want an anti-frizz product, and if the layering isn’t on point, the shape will bulk up very quickly with fine or very curly hair.

Glossy Off-Center Collarbone Lob with Subtle Interior Bevel

#18 Glossy Off-Center Collarbone Lob with Subtle Interior Bevel

The interior bevel and the one-length perimeter gives it that high fashion look, and this one has all those features. The off-center part also gives it some asymmetry which keeps it looking modern and avoids anything overly styled. The shape allows for a beautiful polished tuck-under and will give stunning movement to the hair. Straight hair that is fine to medium in texture and oval faces will get the best results. This look will also require a round-brush blowout with some light finishing heat to complete the look and the subtle crown cowlick will do the work for those short layers.

Wavy Textured Collarbone Bob with Subtle Root Shadow

#19 Wavy Textured Collarbone Bob with Subtle Root Shadow

The left side’s interior bevel on this bob may seem discreet but it does a lot of work by flipping in slightly to soften the cheekbone line. This is a wavy bob at collarbone length with loose wavy medium thick hair that has a subtle root shadow and soft waves along with soft interior graduation and a soft heart to oval framing. Dry cutting and point cut texturizing give the built-in lift and dimensional depth and the wave pattern does what it needs to do to achieve that effortles beachy texture. A root smudge can also help prevent the appearance of harsh regrowth and maintainig that wave pattern will also require daily styling.

Mid-Length Layered Cut with Cheekbone Face-Framing and Caramel Babylights

#20 Mid-Length Layered Cut with Cheekbone Face-Framing and Caramel Babylights

The tiny crown layer on this cut is one of those technical details that makes such a huge visual difference. It’s giving immediate lift right where most people fall flat by midafternoon. The cheekbone face-framing, interior gradation, and feathered ends encourage a really lovely, natural movement on fine to medium density hair that goes from straight to soft wave. The warm brown base with soft caramel babylights and natural root depth is really pretty and subtle. For this shape to look right, precise diagonal slicing will be necessary, and regular glossing will be needed to keep brass from creeping in, but the payoff is an airy frame that looks effortlessly chic.

Long Center-Part Curtain Layers with Root Shadow and Babylights

#21 Long Center-Part Curtain Layers with Root Shadow and Babylights

Curtain layers with a middle section can be hit or miss, but thankfully, this one is a win. The subtle root shadow and babylights add softness and dimension without making the hair too bright. On natural waves with medium to high density hair, it creates a beautiful softness and effortless volume. It provides a gorgeous soft, natural volume that is seamless and, on more oval-framed faces, it provides more volume and movement that looks completely effortless. There is a small cowlick in the crown and it may need some product or a round brush blowout to deflate the bump, but the razored layers will look best with the heat. Overall, the beautiful hair more than compensates for the small trade-offs.

Sleek Collarbone-Length Lob with Soft Interior Bevel

#22 Sleek Collarbone-Length Lob with Soft Interior Bevel

I would consider this haircut to be an example of ‘quiet luxury.’ This lob touches the collarbone and has a blunt cut, with a slight bevel and a few micro layers near the front edges to encourage the ends to roll under. On hair that is straight to softly wavy with medium density, this cut will add some end weight and low-light depth and look clean and healthy overall. This cut is technically a blunt lob with some soft textures on the ends and a gentle root shadow. A little round brush blow dry and/or some smoothing with an iron will be necessary to achieve that level of sleek. This cut won’t hold really tight curls, but it is perfect for the right hair type.

Mid-Length Soft Shag with Wispy Baby Bangs

#23 Mid-Length Soft Shag with Wispy Baby Bangs

I really like the bangs. I love how you can see through them, and you can still see freckles, which I think is adorable. If you have an oval face, fine to medium wavy hair, and medium density, this haircut is perfect. This shag haircut that is mid-length and hits the collarbone is really good. The movement is really nice and soft. It isn’t heavy because of the really long face-framing layers and the soft internal slicing. The bangs are going to need a lot of maintenance as they grow. If you have really tight, dense, or curly hair, it can feel really heavy, so be sure to discuss that with your stylist.

Curly Asymmetrical Stacked Bob with Glasses-Friendly Fringe

#24 Curly Asymmetrical Stacked Bob with Glasses-Friendly Fringe

I really enjoy how great this looks with the glasses! It’s a chin-length asymmetrical stacked bob with some short internal layers and point cutting at the crown for extra radial volume on natural curls of medium density. The side fringe that’s longer on the left side framing to the left looks super purposeful. It feels like there was a collaboration between the haircut and the frames. And the perks are endless. Lightweight lift, defined curl clumps, and an easy-wash-and-go situation with a diffuser. If your hair is thick, you will need some careful perimeter thinning for curl cream definition. This is such a clever cut for anyone who wears glasses!

Textured Chestnut Collarbone Bob with Soft Curtain Frame

#25 Textured Chestnut Collarbone Bob with Soft Curtain Frame

The curtain frame on this collarbone-length textured bob is just lovely The way it opens the face isn’t heavy or too distracting. Ultra fine babylights provide the perfect amount of brightness for oval to heart shape faces. For fine to medium wavy hair at medium density, the point-cut ends with a subtle root shadow create an effortless natural grow out that isn’t overdone. I would say that those with super thick hair will need internal thinning, and those with finer hair might need to use a lightweight styling product to create hold. However, the shape is really easy to love for the movement and lift it provides!

Mid-Length Feathered Curtain Fringe with Warm Chestnut Balayage

#26 Mid-Length Feathered Curtain Fringe with Warm Chestnut Balayage

It’s unique that the tiny crown cowlick here is actually aiding the whole cut because many people see cowlicks as a detriment. This mid-length cut that touches the shoulders has long layers that are very heavily textured and a curtain bang that brings effortless crown lift that works with oval or heart shaped faces and fine medium textured dense hair. The root shadow and balayage are low contrast and add more depth; the lack of strong bangs with a face frame is great proportion. For a round brush blow dry, you’ll need those ends flicked and some glossing to keep the warmth. To keep it soft, I would do some vertical point cutting and light razoring on the ends.

#27: Effortlessly Styled Textured Bob with Natural Movement

Lately, I’ve been suggesting this bob more than the others because it truly suits a wide variety of clients and doesn’t have that ‘drastic’ feel that a lot of other styles have. It sits just above the shoulders with some subtle layering for movement and bounce, but it’s not overdone. On finer to medium textures, it gives the appearance of more hair, which is the aim. Here the shine is just healthy hair and if you keep up with your deep conditioning, yours will look like that too! This length is really great for framing round and oval faces.

Sleek Blunt Cut with Subtle Texture
Instagram: zoomhairstudio

#28: Clean Blunt Cut with a Little Something Extra

I think of blunt cuts like a blazer for haircuts. They make things look tidied up even when it doesn’t look like you’ve put any effort into it. This medium-length example has enough slight texture at the ends so it doesn’t look too harsh. It also frames the face nicely, especially for oval and square face shapes. This works best for fine to medium density hair because the goal is to make it look sleek and full rather than wispy. A little shine serum really brings out the color and makes the whole look expensive which is the exact energy we want for this.

Textured Medium-Length Cut with Soft Layers

#29: Textured Medium-Length Cut with Layers That Actually Do Something

Here’s another example of a haircut that has the layers do something – they take out bulk from the mid-lengths so the overall feel is less dense and more airy. With an amazing wavy texture and a medium density, this cut really allows the hair to do its thing. Because of its versatility, it can also work on oval and heart shapes, and the subtle face-framing layers will soften the contours without being too obvious about it. In terms of how much maintenance is required, I’d say she does an average amount of work considering she will need trims to keep the layers from growing out into a shapeless curtain, but daily styling is really easy.

Soft Long Layers with Gentle Face-Framing Waves
Instagram: ralucasoarehair

#30: Long Layers with Face-Framing Waves That Actually Fall Right

When you style your hair like this, people will ask what you did differently, and I can answer that for you right now. It starts with good framing layers, and ends with a cut that works WITH your hairs natural texture and style rather than cutting it in a way that it’s going to look fluffy. For medium to thick hair, there are soft, long and gentle layers that add movement and dimension. Gentle face framing waves also help to soften the jawline and this is a look that universally suits everyone. The longer the hair, the more commitment you’ve got to the maintenance and upkeep. While you might have to spend a bit more time styling your hair this way in comparison to some shorter options, if you want to go a little more some subtle balayage highlights throughout your layers will finish the look and provide dimension and texture with minimal upkeep.

#31: Textured Gray Bob with Gorgeous Natural Shine

I know that there’s a lot of fear surrounding the idea of showcasing natural gray hair, but the fears here are a little misplaced! This chin length, layered bob is great for more mature skin tones. The natural shine you’re seeing is not a product of the hair, nor is it a product fighting against its own texture. It is a product of the haircut. This form is great on fine to medium hair, and without a lot of product, you can get that great look. Clients with oval or round face shapes will appreciate this length framing the face, and the best part is, there’s no upkeep!

Edgy Modern Shag with Wispy Bangs
Instagram: chellsiedanielle

#32: Shaggy Layers with Wispy Bangs and a Lot of Attitude

What can I say? I guess I get a little too excited for shags. But I love this one a lot. I love mid-length shag styles with layers. And I love the bangs! Wispy bangs are such a nice way to frame the face. The slight wave in the hair really does sell the look. But, it is also the natural density of the hair that really does the trick. The hair’s natural wave and density give that lived-in look you have to work for. This shag does require a bit of upkeep to keep the shape, and I will say that this shag probably won’t work for you if you have really thick or coarse hair. This shag has such good energy.

#33: Choppy Layered Cut with Bangs That Make a Statement

The bangs on this have such an awesome effect; they frame the face nicely and add an excited youthful energy to the whole cut which I love. This layering and length combination is particularly flattering on round and heart-shaped faces. The choppy layers create a playful texture and movement which is great for fine to medium density hair and is something you don’t often get with a medium length cut. Bangs require commitment, and will need to be trimmed regularly to sit how you want them, that’s just the way bangs go. If you want to go a little crazy, a fun color on the ends will look awesome with those layers.

Contemporary Textured Mullet with Soft Waves
Instagram: killerkutz

#34: Contemporary Textured Mullet with Waves That Actually Work

I understand that the word “mullet” can elicit many different responses, and usually, an all negative means, a more positive response. The integration of the short top sections and the longer softer waves in the back, creates a shape that is playfully polished and sophisticated. This style is great for every hair type, and most ideal with medium to thick density hair as it is the type of hair where the waves are most likely to possess the required volume to not fall flat. The shape of this style also works specifically well with oval and heart face shapes. This style is going to require more time and effort for upkeep than some of the other hairstyles we may discuss, but if you’re searching for a style that looks and feels like a huge change, without entirely going overboard, then this is the style for you!

#35: Long Layers with Face-Framing That Feels Completely Natural

What makes this hairstyle effective are the subtle framing layers. The mid-length style goes beyond the shoulders and provides plenty of hair to work with. The layers promote movement and volume, even more so if you have fine to medium dense hair. That healthy texture and the even layers are what create the effortless flow instead of a stiff flipped look. Layered cuts at this length typically need to be styled more for the volume to be kept at its best, but the entire look really is stunning.

#36: Soft Layered Cut with Balayage That Doesn’t Try Too Hard

I really like how this balayage keeps the look soft and subtle while brightening the overall appearance. The soft layered cut allows the bright hue to harmonize beautifully with the layers. It provides additional movement to the fine to medium density hair of medium to long length. The layered cut beautifully frames the face with soft movement. The lighter color pieces create depth as they capture the ends of the face framing pieces. While this look will require maintenance on both the color and layers, it is of great value. The look definitely promotes an alive and fresh appearance to the hair, as well as the look of very good quality hair.

Textured Short Curly Cut with Defined Curls
Instagram: firriolo_andrea

#37: Short Curly Cut with Curls That Actually Pop

I wish my curly-haired clients would take the plunge and go for shorter styles! This length shows off the most potential of the curls. Curls create a lot of volume and movement that transforms your entire face. Longer curly hair is not as face framing because it gets heavy and weighed down. It is especially face framing for oval and heart shape faces. There is maintenance that comes with the style so, there is a commitment. The curls have to be defined to go in the direction you want, which is what most people don’t realize. You can also do a subtle balayage to add interest. It will help the curls transform and catch the light.

Classic Textured Short Cut with Subtle Silver Highlights
Instagram: jessinhairapist

#38: Textured Short Cut with Silver That Looks Intentional

The decision to use silver highlights instead of just gray is key. It also keeps the length above the nape of the neck which is youthful. Silver highlights modernize the look. This cut best suits medium hair density, as you want to avoid a wispy look. This shape works best for medium density hair as it looks more textured rather than thin. This style is most suited to round or oval face shapes. The only real commitment is regular trims because at this length, even a few weeks of growth changes the shape.

Chic Wavy Bob with Vibrant Purple Highlights
Instagram: vangm_styles

#39: Wavy Bob with Purple That’s Actually Fun

I always anticipate the delight on a customer’s face when they select a new color, and purple might be an amazing choice! The mid-length wavy bob will give a fantastic base to work with, as the movement of the waves will show off the purple dazzling color from every angle. Also, the hair would have to be a medium to thick texture since the waves will need enough substance to carry the vibrant shade. It frames the face beautifully and equally looks good either dressed up or thrown into a messy textured style. The honest truth about vivid colors is that they need to be regularly touched up, so if you are the kind of person who goes four months between appointments, this may be frustrating. But if you’re willing to maintain it, it’s so worth it.

Soft Medium-Length Wavy Cut with Subtle Shine
Instagram: new.nails.by.ry

#40: Medium-Length Wavy Cut with Effortless Shine

The biggest stand out feature of the hair is the shine and that is the whole story. Soft waves on this hair cut give some dimension and movement on the fine to medium density hair and frame the face perfectly on round and oval face shapes. A nourishing serum or gloss treatment would take this hair to the next level and enhance the shine. The waves are pretty low maintenance, but to really look as polished as the picture you will have to do some styling. It is a contemporary look that is really simple to pull off.

Soft Layered Cut with Face-Framing Bangs
Instagram: styledbyferny

#41: Soft Layers with Face-Framing Bangs and a Flirty Finish

This cut has a lovely little flick at the ends which is super simple to style using a round brush when blow drying. Softer layers combined with some waves and face framing bangs will work wonders to add movement and dimension on medium length hair of finer to medium density. Bangs tend to soften the look of round and oval face shapes. If you have a higher forehead, you may want to be a bit careful as bangs will draw the eye to that area. Make sure the length and weight are appropriate for you. Overall, this is one of those styles that can look casual or dressy without you having to do anything different.

Sleek Graduated Bob with Subtle Volume
Instagram: rhandy_art

#42: Graduated Bob with a Clever Little Edge

I adore this graduated bob because of the gentle undercut at the nape. It looks so classic and elegant, yet there342200231s a little surprise that keeps this style feeling modern. The length is just above the shoulders which is flattering for most face shapes especially oval and heart shapes. The slight volume at the crown brings life to the shape for fine to medium hair types. Honestly, with this cut, day-to-day styling is quite easy, although some regular upkeep will be required so that the edges are kept sharp and the undercut is clean.

Modern Textured Short Bob with Subtle Volume

#43: Short Textured Bob That Looks Good Without Trying

This is the bob I recommend for clients looking for something shorter, but who aren’t quite ready to go for the full pixie cut option. This style sits just above the jawline, which is a perfect length for oval and square face shapes. The soft layers on fine hair give a lovely lightness and movement, making it look like an effortless style that you woke up with. It also suits both straight and wavy hair textures, so you have a bit of styling flexibility. Fine hair may need a volumizing product to achieve the fullness shown here, but the shape is really forgiving.

Textured Short Bob with Effortless Volume

#44: Textured Short Bob That Gives You Volume for Days

I appreciate how the layers in this bob are working. The effect that this length of hair and its texture creates is an airy, more lifted look that will make the hair look fuller. Highlights are low-maintenance and easy to style, but you do have to keep up with trimming to maintain the shape, the cut provides dimension and freshness, which is what everyone is looking for and a great head of hair, which is the overall goal.

Modern Textured Pixie Cut with Subtle Highlights
Instagram: priscilacibele

#45: Textured Pixie with Highlights That Give It Life

This texture on the pixie is awesome! It’s short enough for it to feel like a real change but the natural bounce prevents it from looking too edgy. The subtle highlights are perfect for fine hair because it creates an illusion of fullness. These styles would be best for oval and round face shapes. I would say the shorter styles do require a little bit more maintenance, but the daily styling is practically nothing, and that is why a lot of my clients go short in the first place. If you have been thinking about it, this style is super approachable!

#46: Long Layered Cut with Healthy Hair Energy

People commonly believe that their hair needs a complete makeover when, instead, better layers are all that one needs. The layered cuts are nice, but it is the thickness and overall health of the hair that provides amazing shine. The movement and dimension of the layered cuts is nice, but there is plenty of volume that gives it an alive appearance. The way the hair bounces, one will need to come in for regular trims to keep the layes fresh, or they will blend into each other and one will lose the shape and overall look. Considering the great result, this look requires little maintenance.

#47: Long Layers with Burgundy That Actually Commits

I applaud the courageous color decision; this burgundy is fully committed. The highlights and long, layered cut give so much more depth and dimension while also allowing the layers cut to frame the face to draw more attention to the color. With medium to thick density hair, this is so gorgeous with movement and texture that shows off all the different tones while the layers cut to frame the face really help the color to stand out. A color this bright is going to be more upkeep than your average balayage so really consider how often you will be going to the salon before making the jump. If bold statements with your hair is your thing, this is a really nice option.

Sleek Blunt Cut with Subtle Ombre

#48: Blunt Cut with a Soft Ombre Transition

This style shows off the shape best on straight, medium density hair and is very flattering on round and oval face shapes. If you have fine hair, you may want to consider some end texturizing to add a bit more body. Blunt cuts can come off as a bit rigid, so if you prefer soft face framing layers around the front, that’s something to consider.

#49: Shoulder-Length Shag with Movement You Can Feel

The shag cut texture is nice and not too much. The amount of texture is just right to keep it from looking messy. The soft waves create a flattering relaxed style for those with oval and heart face shapes. The layered brunette rich color on mid density hair shows the layers and textures well. This hairstyle is easy to maintain, but you may want to use a light mousse to add volume and keep the waves defined. There is a classic quality to this cut that will have broad appeal. It feels current without being overly trendy.

Textured Curly Lob with Defined Ringlets

#50: Curly Lob with Ringlets That Know What They’re Doing

Hey, natural curlies. I have a suggestion for you. This shoulder-length curly lob gives the ringlets all the talking and adds playful shape and volume. It is very flattering for oval and round faces with medium to thick hair because the curls frame the face all around. The shaped curls are nicely polished without being stiff. The key to this style is to keep the curls maintained, which means defined and free of frizz, with regular hydration. For added bounce, I recommend a curl cream. Work it through, let it be, and do so while the hair is still damp!
