50 Fresh Textured Crop Cuts Women Are Getting This Year

I really enjoy creating textured crops. This particular style gives me the most artistic range to really flex my talent as a hairdresser. I have a lot of fun knowing that every single cut is different from one another based on the client’s unique hair texture, head shape, hair growth patterns, and cowlicks. I had a client about a month ago that had a bob for 2 years. She told me that she hated every second of it. Once I persuaded her to get a textured crop, I practically made her shed happy tears. She told me that the cut gave her a transformation and made her feel like her real self again. With this kind of cut, all the hair is removed but the framing pieces around the face.

I love all the different possibilities there are across varying hair types and varying levels of boldness to choose from. I’ve included a mix of bolder and more adventurous choices, as well as gentle and soft options for those who want a lower maintenance style and are dipping their toes in. I’ll describe the ones I’m most excited about and why I think those cuts will have the most desirable results, as well as those that I think will be less manageable in the long run. I’d rather you have that understanding mental barrier before you go ahead and snap a photo of an ideal haircut.

#1: Textured Curly Crop with Defined Layers

This is the haircut I would recommend if you are a natural curly girl contemplating a shorter style. The layers are helping the hair do what it’s supposed to do, which is keep the curls moving, springing, and not heavy and mushroomy. It’s the kind of hair that looks better the more you leave it alone. So nice, right? The length is around the cheekbone, which opens up the face beautifully. The trade off with this haircut is that you’re probably going to want a really good curl cream to define the curls and keep them looking nice on humid days. Aside from that, this haircut is about as low-maintenance as curly hair at that length gets.

#2: Short Curly Pixie with Soft Nape Taper and Defined Curl Clumps

I love the definition of the curls, and the neck tapers nicely. There’s soft framing throughout, and those shingled pieces around the ears are nice, and they’ll look even better with a few freckles or cute skin texture. For sure, ask the stylist to do this on dry hair, because there is going to be a ton of slicing and point cutting so nothing gets shocked and you want to maintain the shape as the curls shrink. You will definitely want a diffuser and curl cream will be a must, plus the humidity will be the enemy, but the volume will be nice.

Dusty Rose Piecey Pixie with Feathered Micro Fringe

#3: Dusty Rose Piecey Pixie with Feathered Micro Fringe

I love this color! It’s like a dusty mauve rose and photographs so beautifully. In person, it has a softer, more muted quality to it. It’s really editorial, but not in a costumey way. It’s a more artistic look. Trust me, you will love it. The micro fringe brings all the attention to the eyes, which is the main purpose of it. I think it looks best this way, with the perfect amount of texture in the fringe to sit just above the eyebrows. I recommend some point cutting on the top and then slide cutting at the crown to give some height without it feeling too choppy. For the people who love the color and are not getting it done, that is the honest part of this look. You are going to need maintenance on this look to avoid a muddy color, so if you’re not committed, this will probably disappoint you after three weeks. If you are, it’s just a little matte paste and you are good to go!

#4: Short Textured Pixie with Ear-Skimming Perimeter and Warm Lowlights

This is an adorable pixie cut and easy to style too. The warm lowlights give depth and dimension to the cut, breaking up what could have been a blocky look. The micro fringe is cut above the eyebrows and the edges are right at the ears, which keeps this pixie looking soft and feminine. The client also has a crown of a cowlick, which works to provide natural volume to the hair. The client will love that she doesn’t have to fight for volume each morning. I would do a little bit of point cutting on top and maybe a soft graduation around the temples to keep it from looking too boxy. I’ll be honest, this cut won’t give the client a lot of versatility for styling but it will give her a lot of possibilities for a few different looks. The root melt with the lowlights will help her to stretch her time between appointments.

#5: Platinum Piecey Crop with Forward Feathered Fringe

I understand that going platinum is a big commitment, and it involves some real work (like a whole relationship with your colorist!). Toning, purple shampoo, root touch-ups, and bond treatments are all part of the process. But I love the way it looks when it’s fresh and done well. You get that effortless feel, especially with a feathered fringe and piecey top that looks cool without trying. Plus, it gives weightless hair an illusion of more density, which is a nice bonus. I recommend a soft root shadow to ease the grow-out and someone to cut it that thinks about your crown cowlicks, because at this length they will show.

Choppy Short Shag with Ear-Length Flicks and Soft Micro Bangs

#6: Choppy Short Shag with Ear-Length Flicks and Soft Micro Bangs

I love that this gives sort of an “I woke up looking cool vibe”. The bangs are soft and the layered up do style gives it a nice polished finish. The over direction at the crown helps him out with a cowlick and I love the added volume. The point cutting and the slight layering at the nape will allow the hair to look fuller without all of the bulk. The bangs may take a little while to settle and some bits may look slightly unbrushed, but it is perfect for a wavy, medium thickness, and streaked, air dried look.

#7: Cropped Textured Shag with Piecey Micro Fringe and Soft Crown Lift

This one keeps catching my eye because of how elegantly the color and cut come together. The warm strawberry-blonde with a subtle root shadow gives some depth, and the choppy micro fringe punctuate the cut and keep it feeling fresh. That natural cowlick at the top of the head means some added effortless volume, and at 1-2 inches this entire cut is a wash and go (with a bit of product) style cut. For those with a rounder shape face, this is particularly flattering because of how the texture and cropped length at the sides elongate the face. The trade-offs of this length are that color grow out is visible faster and styling it up is more difficult, but for the right wearer, those are easy compromises to make.

#8: Soft Tousled Cropped Pixie with Ear-Grazing Nape

You don’t need to worry about going short with thick wavy hair. Look at the potential that’s possible for thick hair at this short length! Look at the movement and body! The internal layers prevented the hair from being too thick and the scissor over comb technique kept some shape at the nape. I see the little neck tattoo and your ear piercings, and I take those details into consideration when I cut because it’s important for the perimeter to be blended so those features show. For styling, a light curling cream and diffuse should do the trick to control frizz. With this cut, regrowth will become pretty obvious quickly.

Short Textured Crop with Soft Taper and Sun-Kissed Top

#9: Short Textured Crop with Soft Taper and Sun-Kissed Top

The use of color can make a short hairstyle look even better. The light tipped color creates dimension while avoiding the need for heavy color commitment and frequent upkeep. Since your natural color is deeper, it creates that sun kissed look. The taper on the sides is clean, clipper 2-3 maybe, and the nape has a soft graduation that stops it from being too harsh. You will want some precision cutting in scissor-over-comb and point cutting to create the separation with the shorter layers. The stylist will need to know about the tiny forward cowlick at the fringe and work with it rather than against it. A matte paste will give a nice finish. This is a great cut for people with an active lifestyle.

Short Wet-Look Textured Pixie with Ear-Skimming Fringe
Instagram: parloursaloninc

#10: Short Wet-Look Textured Pixie with Ear-Skimming Fringe

The wet-look style creates a completely different vibe for this cut than a blow dry would, and that’s worth mentioning because sometimes the style makes the cut. For nice, controlled separation, a light clay paste worked through damp hair will do the trick, and it becomes a bit addictive to have that control. The cut is nice and clean, cropped just above the ears with a gentle fringe and some internal layering, and there’s a little cowlick at the crown that could help you or hurt you depending on the day. The scissor-over-comb graduation at the nape is nicely done, and the point cut fringe gives that nice piece-y look without being too ragged. Just know that the fringe does need some product every day, and if you have a strong cowlick it can be a bit of a struggle some mornings.

Short Textured Crop with Feathered Nape and Micro Fringe
Instagram: navy_ahairstudio

#11: Short Textured Crop with Feathered Nape and Micro Fringe

I love this cut! The feathered nape and choppy micro-fringe are original. The texture and shadow play are also really nice on darker hair, and is often lost on lighter hair. The crown has some nice natural volume at this length which is always a gift. The only tricky part is the dark pigment. If you ever want to lighten it, it would be a process. Also, there is a nape cowlick, and some perimeter weight, that creates an intentional look and requires really precise tapering. Scissor-over-comb and some tactical slicing to remove bulk without losing shape makes this cut perfect for a competent stylist.

#12: Ash-Blonde Short Crop with Wispy Forward Fringe and Tapered Sides

I want to be upfront about cool ash tones since they can be tough to pull off. Your brow-skimming fringe and soft point-cut taper texture look phenomenal. As for ash blonde, getting to that color and maintaining it is going to be a bit of a process. You will require some considerate lightening, a violet based gloss to keep it cool, and regular maintenance since it will pull warm. If you want low upkeep, then this isn’t your color. The crown has a nice lift, and the cut is simple to style and easy to maintain. If you are after a lower commitment color, you may need to look at a different cut. With this hair type it is crucial to point cutting and feathering, as blunt cuts will cause the fine hair to look flat and lifeless.

#13: Icy Platinum Razor-Edged Crop with Etched Temple Lines

I admire your risk taking! The lines on your foreheards, nape skin fading, and platinum top? That is a look that takes some serious confidence. Also, amazing colorist. The point-cut texture on top creates some nice movement and keeps it from being too harsh. The diagonal lines also help keep it from being too wild but provide a pretty cool framework for the right person. That said, platinum at this length is a lot of maintenance and will require some serious pre-lightening and violet toner touch ups. You are gonna show your hairline and scalp, so if you have some uneven color, or any textural inconsistencies, there’s no hiding it. The fading with clippers has to be seamless, and the top should have just soft shears to avoid any step lines. It is very high skill and high maintenance, but if that excites you i’m all for it!

Choppy Short Crop with Tapered Ear Undercut and Textured Crown
Instagram: layeredbyleah

#14: Choppy Short Crop with Tapered Ear Undercut and Textured Crown

The cut is definitely more editorial and has a more edgy look. This makes it more versatile for different people. The top has more length than the sides and just above the ear is a soft tapered undercut which stops it from being too plain. A crown cowlick here gives good lift and with scissor-over-comb blending and point cut layers, the hair has an almost weightless movement. It will take some product to achieve the desired separation on top, and the undercut will grow out further and become obvious, requiring maintenance. For completely straight, fine to medium hair on an oval face this is a modern and somewhat simplistic look.

Textured Micro Pixie with Choppy Micro Fringe

#15: Textured Micro Pixie with Choppy Micro Fringe

This style may be super short but is also very cute! The choppy micro fringe adds a lot of personality, while the razor-textured crown lifts the hair so it won’t look flat, which is a risk with this length of straight hair. The shingled nape nicely frames the jawline and the youthful appearance is a little daring. I’d recommend this cut for fine to medium density hair since it really plays to those textures, but if you have very thick hair or tight curls it will be much harder to achieve and maintain this shape. The grow-out will also need managing; you’ll be back in my chair a lot to create the shape intentionally to avoid having it look like it is just… growing.

Warm Auburn Micro Crop with Feathered Fringe and Soft Nape Graduation
Instagram: kittyglitta

#16: Warm Auburn Micro Crop with Feathered Fringe and Soft Nape Graduation

The warm auburn shade brightens your complexion. This color compliments your skin instead of just sitting on top. The look has shape, but is soft and not too harsh, from the back neck graduation and the feathered choppy fringe. A natural lift is added by the subtle crown cowlick, which is always a bonus. The length is all the same and is straightforward as well. The length will also have noticeable regrowth, so keep that in mind. A light product like a paste or cream will help with separation and definition of the pieces. The model has cooler skin undertones, and with a low-lift gloss, we can keep the warmth true without tipping into brassiness. That is the detail that makes this color really lovely.

Soft Textured Mini Crop with Blunt Short Fringe

#17: Soft Textured Mini Crop with Blunt Short Fringe

This look focuses on the bangs and the fringe. Soft blunt bangs create the focal point and confidence for the look and style. Short crops sometimes lack definition but the soft bangs do the trick. Forward-point cutting at the fringe creates movement at the perimeter weight line. The look is finished with an ear-grazing taper at the nape and sideburns. The style suits slim to slight heart-shaped and oval faces and works well with medium to fine straight hair. A few things to consider: very thin hair will be obvious as it may become transparent at the top and the length will be significant regarding the color you choose since it will easily show regrowth. It’s a low-maintenance style and for some, the bold brow framing is just the goal.

Rounded Textured Pixie with Clean Tapered Nape
Instagram: kayleighlwood

#18: Rounded Textured Pixie with Clean Tapered Nape

I enjoy how polished a rounded pixie looks, as it looks like everything is in order, even if everything is actually a mess. This look has a lovely tapered nape, soft textured fringe, and stacked graduation at the crown, giving elevated shape with little effort. Internal layering creates movement and the point cutting helps keep it from being too structured. This looks great on straight to slightly wavy hair and is especially nice on oval and heart shaped faces. To get this look you will definitely need someone who takes their time on the hair detailing around the ears, as this can make or break the style. It is also good to know that if your hair is very coarse it won’t add the bulk some people want. For the right hair type, this cut looks great as it requires minimum daily styling.

Soft Rounded Stacked Pixie with Side-Swept Curtain Fringe

#19: Soft Rounded Stacked Pixie with Side-Swept Curtain Fringe

I adore the soft, delicate aesthetic of the side-swept curtain fringe. The rounded stacking at the crown is also done really well. This sits just above the ear, and the internal layering is done perfectly for a pixie, in that it helps the hair maintain its shape throughout the day. Here, we have a subtle crown cowlick, and instead of going against it, I would suggest texturing the inner layers to manage the lift while still keeping it more on the natural side. Clean tapered nape sections off the back, and this is going to require daily styling to maintain that rounded crown shape. Some styles that are a bit more textured and messy have a wash and go vibe, but this isn’t it. If you have really tight curls, I would avoid this particular shape as it would be more challenging to keep up with, but on straight medium textured hair, it is really nice and the face framing is soft and subtle.

Short Salt-and-Pepper Textured Pixie with Tapered Nape
Instagram: juramirobeauty

#20: Short Salt-and-Pepper Textured Pixie with Tapered Nape

This haircut is a great way to express the decision to let gray hair show. The natural multi-tones and the way the hair is growing right now is creating added depth, so you won’t even need any highlights or lowlights. The tapered nape and point cut fringe are clean and the textured top with small crown cowlick provides natural volume, which is great at this length. The ear-grazing side lengths are short and will probably have around an inch and a half of length on top. This type of haircut suits oval and heart-shaped faces. This haircut will be especially good for people with fine or medium textured hair. If your hair is coarse or thick, then you will need a strong layering and thinning technique for it to sit this way. Overall, the right hair texture makes this cut lightweight, easy, and stunning.

#21: Soft Choppy Pixie with Feathered Micro Fringe

The point-cut crown and razor-thinned nape create an airy, relaxed, and breezy quality. The feathered micro-fringe stays out of the eyes, and the little wave makes it great with sea-salt spray or paste instead of smoothing it down. The crown cowlick gives great lift which is great, but requires daily attention. The light brown hue is warm, but could get brassy if you get sun exposure. The shape and ear framing is nice and it’s a great choppy pixie.

Curly Short Crop with Soft Fringe and Rounded Crown
Instagram: headup_hair

#22: Curly Short Crop with Soft Fringe and Rounded Crown

One haircut that really divides opinion is a short curly cut, and this is an example of how to do it well. The top has a rounded shape due to the natural curl pattern giving it some height and the graduated layers are removing bulk in the right places while keeping the definition of the ringlets. I notice the glasses and it’s important for this because you want the fringe right down to the brow so it frames the face without getting trapped under the glasses and looking messy. You may want to use an anti-frizz product because curls at that length can puff (a lot) in the humidity and you will need to do shape maintenance to keep it rounded at the crown and clean where the fringe is. The built-in volume and cheekbone framing are lovely though.

Short Platinum Textured Crop with Soft Tapered Nape
Instagram: gpointhair

#23: Short Platinum Textured Crop with Soft Tapered Nape

Pure platinum is done with precision to the shortest possible length, yet remains undeniably striking. The soft scissor-textured perimeter ensures the absence of visual harshness. A little cowlick at the crown helps add some lift. The shape works well with fine to medium straight hair, and the daily styling is nearly non-existent which is a huge upside. The big downside, and I won’t sugarcoat this, is that getting to and maintaining platinum involves a lot of heavy bleaching, toning, bond treatments, root touch-ups, and quick skips. At this length, you have two weeks before the grow out shows and it shows quickly. However, if you’re willing to commit to that, it is a clean, fresh, and modern style.

#24: Textured Copper Cropped Pixie with Choppy Micro Fringe

I thought about this style for quite some time, and eventually came to appreciate all the details that made this cut standout. The little V’s on the fringe are a nice touch and the crown cowlick is being utilized to create lift to avoid the flat look on the sides. The copper is a lovely and photogenic colour (if that matters to you). The point cut layers and texturising at the back fringe give so much movement to the hair and the ear grazing sideburn and tapered nape are all very neatly harmoniously clean. For colur upkeep you will need a paste/wax for separation and the copper will need warm tones fade easily, but this is the sort of cut where the details you really love will be worth the upkeep.

Textured Asymmetric Pixie with Sweeping Blonde Fringe

#25 Textured Asymmetric Pixie with Sweeping Blonde Fringe

If the asymmetry were any more dramatic, it would look like an error, and that’s the sweet spot you want while styling an asymmetric pixie. The cross over side fringe, and subtle flick at the temples draws the focus to the cheeks intentionally, like someone really considered the striking features of your face. Hair color choice is boosted in dimension with soft blonde babylights on a darker base, and the blades and point cutting add movement to what looks like fine-to-medium straight hair. This haircut aims to have daily styling cream, and regular color maintenance at the roots to keep that piecey look. The volume and shape the haircut gives, is most flattering oval or heart shaped faces, and is worth the maintenance.

Short Razored Crop with Micro Fringe and Soft Crown Graduation
Instagram: akira__sato

#26: Short Razored Crop with Micro Fringe and Soft Crown Graduation

This is about 1-2 inches, and the micro fringe really opens the whole face, which is great if you’ve got strong features you want to showcase like piercings, bold brows, or anything that stands out. The soft crown graduation gives it a rounded shape instead of flat, and the razor texturing gives you that lived-in look without having to put more effort into it in the mornings. Flattering round to oval face shapes and best on straight fine to medium hair. There is a slight off-center cowlick at the crown that requires some precise cutting to manage, and honestly styling options are pretty limited at this length, but if you want a cut that frames your eyes and lets you walk out the door in five minutes, this is it!

Platinum Cropped Pixie with Soft Textured Top
Instagram: airahcosta

#27: Platinum Cropped Pixie with Soft Textured Top

For the right person, this cut is amazing. It’s anywhere between a quarter inch to half an inch on top and a clipping nape. Bold glasses along with soft round features wear it especially well. A lot of statement frames tend to feel nervous about going this short, but it looks amazing. The slight crown cowlick adds lift, and the internal layering keeps it from looking too uniform. The big selling point is that if daily styling is almost nothing that is a huge selling point. The downsides/negatives are that with platinum at this length, frequent bleaching and toning is necessary. I wouldn’t recommend this cut for coarse or curly textures because it just won’t behave the same way.

Chic Textured Pixie Cut with Side Swept Bangs
Instagram: eetle.beetle

#28: Chic Textured Pixie Cut with Side Swept Bangs

The little bit of length variation is a nice touch, along with the not too daring side bangs. They create a nice frame which works for many face shapes, something nice about this cut is that the fine hair density is a positive as it keeps everything feeling less heavy. If you’re looking for something that looks nice without needing style time, this is a good option. Bear in mind shorter styles will require more regular trims to keep the shape. With how quickly the grow-out goes from intentional to random don’t wait too long to return to the salon!

Stylish Silver Textured Crop with Subtle Layers
Instagram: elvisreemasalon

#29: Stylish Silver Textured Crop with Subtle Layers

I totally understand why people would want to choose this color. Natural colours look less clean and chic. If done well silver hair can look really nice. The ears and subtle layers around them can make it easier to style, help partition movement and taper around the face. This look would work with heart and oval shapes really well. It gives the face more definition. It suits fine to medium hair and is really good with texture. Silver hair does require effort since it gets brassy and fades easily. Personally, I think the effort with silver hair is worth it.

Modern Textured Silver Crop with Subtle Layers

#30 Modern Textured Silver Crop with Subtle Layers

Another silver crop! Honestly, I don’t mind, as each one wears a little differently. I really like this one as it has a clean tapered back, gives the whole shape a modern feel. The subtle layers are just enough volume and texture to keep it from falling flat. At this length, it really showcases facial features, which is kind of the whole point of going this short. The best hair density for this style is fine to medium, and the shape is flattering across a variety of faces. The one thing I’ll say is that shorter hair, especially with a precise shape like this, needs more frequent trims than people realize. Every 4-5 weeks is ideal to keep it looking like a haircut that’s growing out.

Modern Textured Crop with Subtle Layers

#31: Modern Textured Crop with Subtle Layers

I really like the light grey color, and I think it adds a youthful touch to this style. Most people think grey adds age to a person, but done well, it can have a very opposite effect. The short, layered style is meant to create volume and movement. The subtle, side-swept fringe gives some nice framing to the style. She looks like she has done a great job of not trying too hard. I would say that this cut is ideal for finer to medium textures. All you need is some texturizing cream and you are good to go. My only warning is that if you have coarse or thick hair, the shorter length can work against you. Shorter hair tends to sit out a lot more and not fall into those soft shapes. But for the right hair, this cut is easy and super chic!

#32: Modern Textured Crop with Soft Highlights

Subtle highlights with this cut do exactly what highlights should do at this length – create movement and light without being stripey or overdone. The layered texture adds volume, and those face-framing pieces suit a variety of different face shapes, making this a pretty versatile choice. It’s great for fine to medium hair and has that fresh, lively quality which I think comes from the cut and colour working together, rather than one doing all the lifting. You may have to style it a bit more than some of the easier crops to keep everything in place, but it’s not high maintenance at all.

#33: Edgy Textured Crop with Choppy Bangs

Many people don’t seem to appreciate how great darker shades actually look on shorter styles. For instance, in this case, the darker color brings out the texture and the layered look. It is common for people to look at the color and focus on the eyelashes, but there is so much more going on here. The bangs are fun and the extra movement created makes fine hair appear thicker. This color is really good for people with heart and oval shaped faces as it draws attention to the cheekbones. This haircut is going to take a lot of regular upkeep to stop it from looking messy and more intentional. I know I said achieving the look on purpose doesn’t take much time but it’s literally about five minutes of effort. To keep the dark tones looking rich and the details of the cut vibrant, a color refresh and a cut will be really needed.

#34: Choppy Curly Crop with Textured Layers

This curly crop features fun layered texture on top with longer curls, and shorter sides. Unlike other styles, I think this one would work with these more face shapes. The lift comes from the layers and the curls just add more energy to the cut. If there is some natural curl already, this is a good cut to work with your natural texture. Realistic styling time is a good thing to consider with the layers as they provide enough lift to the curls and let them do their thing without being weighed down. Keeping curl definition at a shorter length can make it more difficult, and means more styling product experimentation to find the right ones. When the curls are well controlled, the cut is fun and fresh.

Modern Layered Textured Crop with Subtle Highlights
Instagram: hairjoliekappers

#35: Modern Layered Textured Crop with Subtle Highlights

A shorter back and longer front is a good look since it elongates the neck and softens the face structures, especially rounder ones. The soft highlights are just enough to add dimension without being exaggerated. The look, paired with soft, textured waves, is polished and gives the perfect effortless undone vibe. The cut provides extra volume for fine to medium types because of the layering. While you will need to book regular trims to maintain the shape, the style is low maintenance so growing out the cut isn’t a bother.

#36: Softly Textured Platinum Crop with Subtle Layers

The soft tussles at the crown make it playful and less serious which is one of the possibilities a cropped platinum length style can have and one of the challenges it can also come with. If the right texture is off it can get really harsh. With the right length, subtle layers at the ends frame the features beautifully especially on oval or heart shaped faces. This cut works best on hair of fine to medium density. As I always say, platinum comes with a lot of maintenance. The color and shape require upkeep along with regular appointments. But when it’s fresh it’s a super chic easy to style option and the texture gives it warmth that pure platinum can lack so meaning you can leave it for longer which makes it less spaced out. It’s a cut that says don’t be afraid to wear it with a lot of confidence.

#37: Textured Platinum Pixie Cut with Subtle Layers

The cut is perfect to draw attention to the face. The color is light and the gradient is subtle enough to not compete with the cut. The layers provide texture and allow the hair to look fuller without feeling heavy. These styles suit round and oval face shapes best. Platinum hair is high maintenance with frequent coloring and cutting needed. There is a slight upkeep with styling and the cost is the same as any other platinum. With a cut this simple, it is easy to get it wrong. This style has been executed really well.

Textured Pixie Cut with Soft Side Swept Fringe
Instagram: hirohair

#38: Textured Pixie Cut with Soft Side Swept Fringe

The side-swept fringe helps to shape the face and add some direction to the overall look. The layered finish gives the eyes movement rather than seeing just short hair. The subtle color changes also add depth and dimension to the hair. Details like this can often be missed, but it really changes the overall interpretation of the hair cut. The layers give the illusion of volume and movement, and because the hair is fine, it is easy to maintain. You won’t be fighting with it in the mornings. However, short hair cuts do require more regular maintenance and more frequent trims. The shape just loses its intention faster compared to longer styles.

#39: Textured Copper Pixie with Undercut

I like the style’s undercut. The contrast with the soft layered top is so cool. The combination of something unexpected and something pretty is brilliant! The copper tone is lovely and very warm. The tousled finish looks playful enough with the right light-weight product. The medium density encourages some playfulness and lets the out-of-control texture come out. This is a great cut and style for fine hair because the undercut removes weight where it’s needed. The usual caveat with short cuts is regular trims to keep the shape though this style is super fun. The copper tone keeps it warm and approachable.

Textured Silver Crop with Soft Waves
Instagram: jessfrazerhair

#40: Textured Silver Crop with Soft Waves

Delicate waves provide volume to the fine hair in a natural way, as though the hair was moving spontaneously. The silver tone is very on trend, and the length is very complimentary to the face for both oval and heart shapes. The soft layers provide movement and a youthful quality that silver hair definitely exudes when the cut is done right. If the hair is thicker, this will require some extra styling to hold it in this shape as the weight will pull the waves out, but for finer hair textures this is absolutely perfect. The undone texture frames the face and softens strong features without any effort.

Vibrant Textured Short Crop with Bold Color
Instagram: aydan.hair

#41: Vibrant Textured Short Crop with Bold Color

There’s something about getting a short haircut and a bright red color that is so energizing. With this style that has a crown layer and volume, it’s really the perfect combination. I love how the color brings brightness and a youthful feel to the face, and how it looks with the movement and dimension created by the textured finish. The cut looks really good with oval and heart shaped faces. The day-to-day styling is easy and doesn’t take a lot. The color will definitely take the most maintenance since it fades the fastest; so regular touch ups and color safe products are a must to keep it from washing out. I really love this look when it’s fresh, it’s always satisfying when you see people walk out of the salon.

#42: Playful Blush Textured Crop with Subtle Edges

A short bob with a blush tone color looks nice because the cut is complimenting/letting the color speak for itself, if that makes sense. The subtle, choppy texture adds volume to finer hair, and the length goes well with the cheek bones. The overall style gives off a contemporary and clean vibe, while still being not too edgy. It also is good for many different ages, which makes me think it’s a good style. The lighter shade is going to need maintenance to stay intentional and soft because pastels tend to get brassy, but the cut is rather low maintenance and adaptable. It works with the color because it adds interest without having to do much more.

#43: Textured Copper Crop with Soft Volume

I really appreciate warm coppers because I feel like they suit so many people. I love how the shorter layers give a soft, effortless volume to the style. This style’s length is just above the ears, and the tousled texture adds plenty of movement to the style. I also think the warm copper color suits so many different skin tones, so if you’re drawn to warmer colors it’s a safe choice. With fine to medium density hair, this has an airy quality and the cut is quite low maintenance. It’s very simple, perhaps a styling product to enhance the texture, but other than that, there’s nothing too complicated about it. I think it is just cuts like this that are warm and approachable that are so underrated and this cut is especially nice on round or oval faces.

#44: Textured Short Crop with Soft Volume

An example of a haircut that’s simple, yet effective, is illustrated above. There is nothing complicated about it; all the elements come together perfectly. The length is above the ears, and slight layering creates movement and texture. The look can be achieved soft and tousled with a little product (or no product depending on the style). This haircut works best with a fine to medium density of hair and is particularly flattering on oval and heart-shaped faces. The simplicity of a haircut like this is both an advantage and a drawback. Regular trims are necessary to keep the shape, and when the hair grows out unevenly, a clean cut is taken to show the different lengths. However, the minimal daily styling is a significant advantage of a haircut like this, and it will be worth it.

#45: Textured Natural Afro with Defined Volume

I love the length and volume at the crown. The way the hair is cut allows the natural texture to shine. It won’t get heavy or lose its shape. It brings cheekbones and jawlines into focus which is super cute. This is a cut that works with the texture of the hair rather than against it and especially for curly and coily hair that’s true. You’ll definitely need a solid curl maintenance routine so if you already have one that works for you, this length will make everything easier and quicker.

#46: Textured Blonde Crop with Playful Volume

This style is great for fine to medium hair types as it creates the illusion of thickness with the fun volume soft layers give, and the blonde color adds brightness and liveliness. The length is a sweet spot where it shows off the features without overwhelming the face, especially good for oval and heart shapes. The texture is tousled and gives the look of having just run fingers through it, and it’s the kind of ‘just stepped out the door’ appearance that many of my clients are after. It’s a low-maintenance look that will require a bit of product throughout the day to keep that textured look you want.

#47: Bold Blunt Bowl Cut with Glossy Finish

I understand the blunt bowl cut certainly does not suit everyone and this is due to the very distinct architectural appearance of the shape. In fact, the shape tends to highlight the face more than soften it. Each line shows and in this case, the precision is emphasized by the glossy finish. The cut works best with fine to medium density hair as they lay flat enough to maintain the desired sleek structure. However, if thick or curly hair is the case then this cut will fight you and should be avoided. When it does suit a person, the bowl cut can be quite striking and looks very fashion forward in a way that more basic styles do not. Regular trims are a must because just a little uneven growth can disrupt the whole line. Overall, if your hair and style align to the cut, it is a very cool look.

#48: Chic Textured Crop with Soft Waves

The wonderful soft waves in this haircut create a ton of movement. I also think it’s great how the layered texture helps to hide the thinning that’s a big deal to most of my clients and often gets missed. The hair length is just above the ears. It gives a great face frame and for oval and heart shapes, it’s perfect. An added bonus is how great this cut blends with natural grey, so if you’re in the phase of growing out color, this is an incredibly stylish cut to do it. The waves and texture are perfect. You won’t have to rely on color to make it pop.

#49: Trendy Textured Crop with Bold Fringe

It certainly helps to make the cut more interesting, and it’s clear that a lot of work has been done to the fringe. The cut would be quite standard but more direction and personality is added with the fringe. The layered finish should add extra volume and movement in particular to fine and medium hair and the light blonde will brighten the face. The fringe will need some regular styling if you want it to look intentional and not just overgrown, so bear that in mind for your morning routine. For a fresh youthful look, it’s a good choice.

#50: Trendy Textured Crop with Defined Volume

The volume on the top paired with the neat side finishes makes this hairstyle effective and adds dimension that fine hair can often lack. The smooth straight light blonde hair with soft highlights really brings out the shape and texture, brightening it all up. With its overall fresh and youthful effect, this hairstyle works especially well for oval and heart-shaped faces. However, the top volume will not happen on its own and will require some styling for it to remain like this. But with some product and a couple minutes it can be done. It’s an everyday hairstyle that’s just interesting enough to be a good choice.
