Short hair is not about looking older or younger, it is about looking clean and put together. It is a wonderful choice for individuals who want to get rid of the morning battle with their hair and prefer to have their hair style cooperate with them instead.
I can’t explain how happy I am when my clients take the step of going for shorter hair, and many of them end up texting me a couple days later saying “WHY DIDN’T I DO THIS SOONER” . Most people do not know that short hair is the most versatile when it comes to styling. There are tons of styles to choose from when it comes to short hair and the changes from style to style can be very drastic. A blunt bob and a tapered bob are from completely different worlds even though they’re both short. Just last month a woman came into the salon and told me that she had been growing her hair for 3 years and then saw ONE image of a chin-length bob and cancelled her entire grow out plan. That’s the energy I get to work with, now let’s get into the 15 looks I’m most looking forward to.

This service caters to clients who want to embrace their rebellious side, and still maintain a polished, professional look come Monday morning meetings. The look is a sleek, simple dark bob, then step into the light and BAM, a beautiful popping midnight blue. Best with naturally dark hair as we get to play with what is already there. The straight across cut is also very pretty and structured with thicker hair that can sometimes be a little unruly. The reality check is that fashion colors fade super quickly, so be sure to invest in a good color depositing shampoo to stretch the time between appointments.

Honestly, I absolutely adore seeing clients with multi-tones! An angled bob cut with red and blonde tones is super warm and inviting. It’s incredible how much a bob cut can accentuate the jawline! I can understand your skepticism about a bowl cut hairstyle reference. But let me clarify! This is NOT the bowl cut your mom gave you with kitchen scissors in 1994. The fringe will need to be neatened more frequently than the rest of the cut, but this style always grows out well which is a nice bonus.

But if you are up for it, even a five minute round brush and blow dry are meant to be spent to make this cut the absolute best it can be!
#15 The Brunette Bob with Textured Bangs Glow-Up
This is the type of before and after that reminds me why I love my job! The change from long wavy hair to a perfectly straight chin-length bob with textured bangs is not easy, and it takes a lot of confidence and trust to pull off, but when it works, it REALLY works! The style adds a lot of fullness to finer hair, and I’ve had clients literally gasp when they see the final reveal. I’ve seen it a hundred times and I still love it! The bangs are perfect, just thick enough that you can see a little bit of her forehead, and it all feels lighter and less is more instead of super over complicated. For oval faces, it provides the most beautiful youthful contour and draws all the attention to the eyes. The cut is super on trend right now, but I know it’s going to be one of those styles that looks good in 6 months too, I can’t say that about everything that’s in fashion right now!
