One day while reorganizing my station, I stumbled across an old photo. It was an image of a client who thought she was “too old for a razor cut.” I told her she carried herself with confidence and she looked amazing. Then I showed her the photo and we both agreed she looked at least 10 years younger. This is what people don’t get with razor cuts. It’s not just for the cool 20 something girls with the septum piercings. And people get confused with the razor. Scissors can’t give the softness and movement a cut done with a razor can. A good razor cut works with the hair and not against it. It’s about the technique.
And something I’ve learned from my years of experience is cutting hair is that I’ve witnessed two women sit in my chair, request the same bob, and those two women ended up looking completely different. That’s the beauty of a good razor, and that’s why I was inspired to put together a collection of my favourite styles ranging from soft bobs to really spiky pixies. I’ve got a lot to say about those cuts and I won’t stop myself.

#1: That Dreamy Soft Gray Bob You Didn’t Know You Needed
I wanna do **THIS**. It’s a bob that is shoulder length with the tiniest baby layers around the face, and is effortlessly cute. This is your ideal hair if your hair is medium to fine. Those layers create movement but don’t make it look too thin and strung out. I LOVE the gray tone, BUT, I’m going to be honest, lighter colors are going to need a little more love to look fresh. This means purple shampoo, or a toning shampoo every few washes. But the upkeep? It’s so worth it.

#2 Razor-Textured Shaggy Bob That Basically Styles Itself
Chin length shaggy bobs with curtain bangs are the kinds of haircuts that get you compliments even second hand. For example, lots of people ask me who does my hair, and it feels great. The feathered edge creates the illusion that you styled it for a long time, but all you did was grab some sea salt spray and scrunched it. You NEED someone who knows what they are doing with a razor though because if a bad razorist does your hair, it looks magic instead of looking fine and whispy like sad hair. The root shadow trick to blend gray is a smart move because it grows out well so you aren’t tied to the salon every four weeks.

#3 The Tousled Bob That Gives You Cheekbones You Forgot You Had
I love this style’s bedhead vibe, especially since it looks so polished overall. The soft layers work their magic on fine hair to create volume, and touch the cheekbone area to really accentuate the face as a whole. Now, if you have thick hair and are going for this look, you can absolutely make it work, but it might be worth having a bit of a bulk removal chat with your stylist so it puffs in a less flattering way. I like the color around the face; it’s warm, and very natural and doesn’t have to be an overly dramatic change. It’s nice to just look like the best version of yourself.

#4 Soft Layered Shoulder-Length With That “I Woke Up Like This” Wave
We have to give props to the little wave detail. The shoulder grazing length with soft layers and simplicity is actually the biggest compliment I can give to a hairstyle. For those with medium to thick locks, this style is perfect, as the layers really thin it out enough to let that natural texture shine. On the contrary, if your hair is finer, then you may need to apply a volumizing mousse more than you’d prefer. The muted color that’s slightly warmer than the icy blonde is very skin tone friendly, while really fair skin tones may need to add some warmth to their color to avoid looking washed out.

#5 Copper Razor Cut That Brings the WARMTH
I want to show you what some clients have done with copper hair color. The warm copper shade will brighten your complexion like nothing else. I’ve added some razor texture which takes this to another level. It also looks amazing on fine to medium textured hair. It’ll layer softly and create an effortless vibe like “I’m naturally this cool” instead of “I just dropped a ton of cash on this.” You’ll be spending some cash on this because copper is a super quick fading color. You will need to come in to maintain that shape with regular trims, and that will require some money. However, the way you’re going to look catching your reflection is absolutely priceless.

#6 That Perfectly Balanced Bob Everyone Asks About
The layers, movement, and texture created by this razor cut are what make it special, not just the technique. This would work well with fine to medium hair. The razor waves will emphasize any natural textures you have, which means you will spend less time styling with heat tools. With thick or coarse hair, the texture may need the aid of a styling cream and blowout in order to pop, and always be careful of that.

#7 The Volume-Packed Razor Bob With All the Right Highlights
This is going to be FUN! Look at how the layers create all the volume at the crown! That’s the razor texturing working, and on fine to medium hair that gives all the fullness you’ve been pretending to have with products. The warm highlights add so much dimension, and I’m a sucker for good highlight placement. The only thing is, if your hair is really thick, the shape can get away from you between appointments and start looking more “messy” than “intentionally undone”. A quick round brush blowout every few days keeps everything in check.

#8 Burgundy Razor Cut For When You Want to Make a Statement
To be frank, I can guess that you’ve probably never fully embraced color before, so I’m likely going to send you this photo. The burgundy color is really rich and the razor texture really stands out with this color compared to any boring brown choices. What I love about this color is the movement it creates when working with fine to medium hair. The soft layers create really nice backgrounds, and this gets me really hyped. The real talk here is burgundy is a massive commitment. This color will fade, will need to be redone frequently, and if your hair is coarse or really thick, the cut may need a bit of extra weight to hold its shape. But for the right person? It’s so good.

#9 Copper Bob With the Softest Bangs I’ve Seen in a While
The bangs on this look like a work of art! They are so soft, and the copper color really brings the whole look together. The bob is nice and airy, which is perfect because we don’t want bangs that sit on someones forehead like a curtain. I would like to say that if someone has really fine hair or low density, this cut might not give the look of fullness to the hair. Also, bangs mean more maintenance, thinking every 3-4 weeks kind of trims. With all of that being said, if a person is wanting to keep up with the trims, this style will definitely give a person such a fresh and new feeling.

#10 Pink Razor Cut for the Bold and the Brave
I know that thinking about having pink hair at 60 years old is crazy, but you have to look at this from a different angle. This pale pink color is not childish, and it brightens your whole complexion. Darker hair colors have the opposite effect. The finished look is beautiful on fine and medium hair. The compact razor layers are perfect for keeping it light and flowy. However, if you have thick hair, consider different styles. This specific cut can get really poofy really quickly and that can become unmanageable. Pink hair also fades really quickly, so keep in mind that you’ll be needing a color-depositing conditioner to keep your hair looking fresh between salon visits.

#11 Platinum Spiked Pixie That’s Got Attitude for Days
This pixie is a show stopping masterpiece! I mean, just look at how it shines! It is a great example of a modern, edgy haircut, giving off the vibe of”I do what I want” in an amazing way. It is great for a built-in volume look, especially if your hair is fine or medium because it creates great texture. And the graduated nape keeps the hair in the back super clean and easy to deal with. A little insider tip, this cut is going to require a lot of precise razor work and maintenance. In fact, you’ll need a lightweight matte paste to keep the crown’s texture defined, but not so much that it flops over. And just a heads up, this cut will show your hairline, so if you’re self-conscious about that we should definitely discuss alternatives. But if you’re feeling it, go for it!

#12 Chestnut Pixie With That Feathered Crown Lift
I can’t stop myself from wanting to grab a razor with how good this henna hair color is! Also, a warm natural color is so lovely. The micro fringe is adorable and not too over the top, and it gives the hair such a nice lift as though it came out of bed like that. It’s great! The ends of her hair look really nice and airy from the slicing so it’s especially good for fine to medium hair. Here’s something fun, the crown cowlick was worked with to create the height rather than fought against! When I cut the hair with its natural personality, it’s so great! Just keep in mind that the razor cutting technique can accentuate damage and/or dryness so a good smoothing serum is recommended.

#13 Short Copper Pixie That Shows Off Everything
I love the copper on this pixie, along with the tiny silver accents at the temples. It looks incredible and very natural. The depth created by the short crown with razor cut texture adds height without the need for backcombing or product build-up. I’m glad this style is the right length to showcase your earrings. It may seem small, but nice jewelry paired with nice hair makes a huge difference. Keep in mind that copper is one of the color’s that fades fastest, so you’ll have to budget for frequent color refreshes. Daily styling will require a matte wax to separate pieces and keep the texture looking intentional.

#14 Salt-and-Pepper Pixie With That Perfect Side Bang
Here’s what I appreciate about the new hairstyle: it is not trying to hide any of the gray hair; it actually works with it! The combination of the natural salt and pepper hair with the choppy razor layers creates a sophisticated look, and the feathered side bangs finish it off nicely. The gray “money piece” is blended perfectly with the other gray hair as well, which is a nice touch. This is one of those haircuts that actually looks better as it grows out so if you’re not someone who wants to live in the salon, that’s a win! The cut does come with a bit of a caveat in that you will need some texturizing paste to define the razor ends. I would also say that if your hair is very coarse it could go a bit frizzy.

#15 Blonde Razor Bob With the Smartest Side Fringe
Chin-grazing bobs always seem to please the crowd, and this one is no exception. The side fringe does some clever framing for the face, and I love the detail that one side is intended to be a bit longer. It super creates some flattering definition to the cheekbones. The ends being point cut provide all the airy movement fine hair needs without being stringy, and the interior layering gives you crown lift without the obvious “layers.” The pale blonde will show roots pretty fast, so if that is going to be a concern you can ask your stylist about a demi-gloss to keep it blended in between appointments.

#16 Violet Razor Pixie That I Can’t Stop Thinking About
I have to say, I really love this look. The violet and lavender tones along with the razor pixie cut is amazing, and on a woman in her sixties? How refreshing and fully herself. The micro bang brings an editorial and approachable feel to the look and the neck taper is super clean. Now for the real talk: this is going to take a pre lighten to level nine which means bleach is involved. This is a big commitment and there will be maintenance to tone down the brassiness since careful toning is a must. The direct dye violet is going to fade every wash so color refreshes will be needed. But if you love color and the high maintenance, this is THAT haircut.

#17 Copper Asymmetrical Bob That’s Got a Secret
I think about the specifics of a hair technique such as narrow root shadow delays and how fast a copper tone becomes brassy more than most people. This jaw-skimming bob has graduated layering at the crown that lifts without bulk, which is the holy grail for fine to medium hair. The long side-swept fringe gives the look high drama without high maintenance, and the internal point cutting at the nape keeps it clean and tapered. It does need color maintenance because copper tones always do, and as it grows out the edges from the razor can look wispy, so go for quick trims. But the shape? The movement? Gorgeous.

#18 Stacked Bob with Micro-Fringe That Frames Beautifully
A stacked bob with a micro-fringe is especially fun for me because the shape of the cut is always satisfying. I razor slice the perimeter to give it a soft and feathered look, and I find that the interior point layering adds the right amount of volume at the crown. I see the small crown whorl and chose to cut it that way to give it some natural lift, which is the kind of consideration that elevates a haircut from good to great. Micro-fringes are a little tricky because when they’re cut wrong they’ll look bad, so go to a good stylist. Also, if you have coarse or unruly hair, this shape might work against you a little.

#19 Copper Stacked Bob That Literally Brightens Your Face
I think of this style whenever someone requests haircuts that make them feel fresh and alive. This style is polished because of the graduated nape detail that creates the illusion of a crown lift. Babylights are lovely for the client’s skin tone, mainly if the client has more mature skin. The micro fringe is a wonderful style option because it helps soften the appearance of forehead lines, which is an unexpected benefit to consider. I love root smudging because it creates an even grow-out in contrast to the line from color. Many clients appreciate that because they don’t want to come back every four weeks. Just so you know, the razor feathered ends can also create some frizz on coarse hair so we’d want to be careful about that!

#20 Silver Jaw-Length Bob With the Prettiest Curtain Fringe
This bob demonstrates how nice silver hair can look on its own without any other colors incorporated. The razor-point texturing adds lots of movement throughout the entire cut. The curtain fringe placement softens the look nicely. The whorl at the crown adds volume, and those “happy surprises” in hair growth are super fun to work with. The trade-off is that the fringe will need a quick blow-dry most days. It’s a two-minute round-brush job, not a whole blow dry production. If your hair is very coarse it might not work, but for fine to medium hair, this is one of my go-to’s.

#21 Cropped Copper Pixie That’s All About the Crown
The choppy spikes on the crown add LIFE to the cut. This pixie is super short and all about the lift and modern edge. The brightness of the copper paired with some lowlights gives this look some depth so it doesn’t read flat or one-dimensional. Tapered napes always keep it fresh, and the micro-fringe is super cute. This whole cut is a wash and go situation, especially with a little styling paste scrunched through the crown. The bright copper will need regular touch-ups. If your hair is super thin or fragile, we may want to go a different direction. This much texture can expose the scalp, but for the right hair, it’s absolute perfection.

#22 Shoulder-Length Curtain Layers That Move Like a Dream
You can do a ton of different things with your hair! If you want to avoid going too short (totally understandable), this style with long curtain layers that hit your shoulders is a good option! The ends of the hair are skillfully cut which helps with movement as the windblown look is cut honestly very flattering. Warm chestnut balayage is one of the most universally flattering hair colors. The grown-out look is super low-maintenance because after a few weeks, the line won’t be harsh. One thing to watch is the ends depending on the cut can die pretty quickly and this is especially true for ends of this length so I’d recommend asking your stylist to be really intentional with the layers. You can see a little crown cowlick that was dealt with by grazing the crown and I have to say, I LOVE working with quirky hair.

#23 Ginger Pixie With the Cutest Sideburn Tufts
I know “sideburn tufts” may not be the most attractive name for them, but LOOK at them! They add softness to a pixie and provide a softness around the hairline and chin area that most pixies don’t offer. She has a really fun, modern, very short ginger razor pixie with feathered micro bangs. The slicing done in the crown area really helps hide thinning because of the density illusion it gives. It also helps add some interest to the disconnected tapered nape which a lot of people tend to forget about when looking at side profiles. When copper shades grow out, they tend to be banded because they won’t melt at the root. And those with coarse hair may find that razor texturizing won’t work as much unless some length is kept on the side.

#24 Chin-Length Razor Bob That Hides Temple Thinning Like a Pro
This chin-length cut, with a soft fringe and face framing details, looks great. However, the beauty of this haircut lies with how the design of the short stacked crown layers and feathered ends cleverly disguises thinning at the temples (an issue many women face, but no one talks about). Razor point texture will give fine hair an airy feel, and will create a sense of more volume, as the whole style looks polished and free flowing. Watch out for some over-texturing, because that is how the frizz will start showing. Of course, this shape will need regular styling to maintain this look. A subtle root shadow and babylights placed really close to the scalp work really well for adding depth as well.

#25 Chestnut Pixie With Piecey Separation That I’m Obsessed With
The separation in this cut is super impressive. All of the pieces appear clean and effortless as if each strand was appointed a place. That is the magic of razor texturing and point cutting. This extremely short chestnut pixie offers so much lift and movement with a feathered crown and micro fringe. The tapered nape and piecey sideburns soften the profile beautifully. It is modern, yet not harsh, which is a nice balance. Keeping that separation will require product and a little fibre paste in the crown will help a lot. If your hair is extremely fine, keep in mind that the short cut may show the scalp in some areas.

#26 Copper Pixie With the Coolest Temple Detail
The little detail at the temple may seem like a mistake (and once seen, I guess I can’t unsee it), but it shows that this cut isn’t cookie-cutter. This ear-length pixie design features shredding soft tips ends, a sloped micro-fringe, a short tapered nape, and a crown layering that lifts and gives volume. It all adds to a flattering shape without being overly precious. The live warm copper glazing adds to the flattering shape without being too precious. As for copper glazing and razor texturing, we all know how it goes. If you have straight to wavy fine to medium hair, this cut really does check all the boxes.

#27 Blonde Razor Bob With That Sneaky Halo Highlight
I almost overlooked the halo highlight behind their part. But once you see it, you understand why the whole cut just GLOWS. It’s a jaw-skimming razor bob with layered side feathers. The warm blonde interspersed with natural silver creates this brightness that’s stunningly flattering without being too much. The razor slicing combined with the point cut ends provide excellent air movement and crown lift. And that’s exactly what fine to medium hair needs at this length. You do need precise razor work for this one, sloppy cuts show immediately on a bob this short. And a demi-toner every few weeks to keep the ends from getting brassy is a MUST. And with warm blonde, it’s non negotiable.

#28 Layered Pixie With the Most Clever Cowlick Trick
Not everyone sees the upside of a cowlick. But, it can work in your favor! The Soft Razor Edge Layered Pixie with Diagonal Layering technique shows how it can work with the cowlick to give some nice volume and lift. The warm chestnut base with blended grays and a subtle root shadow adds dimension, while the bang area is softly textured and flattering to the face and looks polished without heat styling. For this style to look it’s best, root lift styling is required, which is why it may not be the style for you. But the good news is, it will take you about 5 minutes of styling, not 30, which is great for those zero effort days!

#29 Short Pixie With Wispy Micro-Bangs and Built-In Volume
The clockwise crown cowlick offers natural volume and the cut was designed to utilize it, nice touch. This short pixie is razor textured, with wispy micro bangs and a feathery nape, and looks absolutely phenomenal on fine to medium hair of adequate density. It lifts, modernizes, and conceals light thinning very well. I love the dark color, but I’ll be honest: black shows regrowth more than anything, micro bangs can accentuate forehead lines depending on your features, and that color is going to be high maintenance. Just a few things to think about during the consultation!

#30 The Layered Bob With Bangs That I’d Recommend to Almost Everyone
If you were to sit in my chair and say, “I don’t know what I want, just make me look good,” I would definitely recommend something like this. This chin-length layered bob with soft bangs is so versatile and works for so many different people! The bangs are face-framing without being too overwhelming, and the layers add movement to the hair without looking like you tried too hard. This haircut also only takes 10 minutes to style! With fine to medium hair, this length gives so much versatility because you can tuck it behind your ears, curl the ends under, or do whatever you want. Bang trims also have to be scheduled every 3-4 weeks, it’s just the price you pay for bangs.

#31 Textured Pixie That Makes Fine Hair Look Amazing
A good pixie cut is life changing! Especially this type of textured pixie that has soft layering. It adds movement and volume to fine hair that is rarely seen. It’s youthful and fresh without looking like you are trying to hard. This cut creates great balance for oval and heart shaped faces because of the proportion. The only downside is that you will have to maintain the shape by coming in for trims every 4-5 weeks. The good news is that styling this cut is super easy. If you want to take it a step further, you can add some subtle highlights or a color glaze for some dimension!

#32 Soft Wavy Bob That’s Easier Than It Looks
It takes a certain type of confidence to walk around with hair like this, and I get it all the time. This bob haircut is a nice, soft wave hairstyle with layers, effortless hair styling has been made easy with this cut. It is the perfect length to frame your face wonderfully. With medium density, it can be so airy. This look is the definition of I tried but didn’t try that hard, and we all know that is the goal. The right wave spray will do the trick, and with your stubborn hair, it will really help but other than that this is about as low maintenance as it gets for this level of styling.

#33 Silver Pixie That Looks Like It Was Made For You
This haircut radiates individuality and that is what a great haircut should achieve. The soft layers add bounce and movement to the hair while the shorter pieces create a lovely density which is great for fine hair. The silver and subtle highlights suit her skin beautifully. I won’t lie, some styling is essential to maintain its shape. Most mornings, a lightweight volumizing spray should do the trick. This is one of those cuts that I honestly love as you grow into it.

#34 Silver Pixie That’s Low-Key the Easiest Cut on This List
Do you want a hairstyle that is easy to maintain? If so, you can bring the picture to your next appointment. The silver pixie haircut frames the face beautifully, plus it is great for adding texture to fine hair. It will dry naturally in no time, and the soft highlights will give your hair dimension and a healthy appearance. The only thing to keep in mind is that shorter pixie cuts need to be cut more frequently, ideally every four weeks, but that’s not a big downside.

#35 Silver Pixie With That Little Crown Wave I Can’t Get Over
Can you see the tiny wave at the top? That tiny detail brings a little playful softness to the whole cut, and it’s the detail that will make a pixie feel like YOU just not “a pixie.” The short length and soft edges bring out the youthful look, and fine to medium density hair will layer up enough so that you won’t be product obsessed. Luckily, it’s adaptable to a lot of different face shapes which I can’t say about every short cut. Everything is so nice and so easy to wear and that’s the sweet spot for a hairstyle that will be worn daily.

#36 Feathered Silver Pixie That Makes People Think You Go to an Expensive Salon
The haircut has an instant expensive look to it no matter how you decide to style it. The feathered layers you’re talking about will have to be cut every few months to maintain that look, but I agree that the maintenance will be minimal. The cut will look great on heart-shaped faces because the layer shapes will complement the face shape. The silver tones will enhance the modern look of the cut since it will provide great contrast to the layers and will also frame the face nicely. The haircut will give you a fresh look, and it will look even better once you style it, because it will add volume and more movement to your hair. This will be ideal if your hair is fine or medium thick. You will need to go to a really good salon for that look, but also once your hair is freshly washed, the haircut will look really good.

#37 Silver Pixie That Frames a Heart-Shaped Face Perfectly
If your nerves are getting the better of you and you have a heart-shaped face, I would suggest this style. The textured layers framing your face are beautiful, and the silver color will lighten and soften your features. This style will be the most balanced and flattering for your chin and forehead. For fine to medium hair, this style will create great volume and movement. Less length means your morning routine can change from 10 minutes to a quick get up, run your fingers through, and walk out. Just keep in mind you will have to tone your silver color to keep it from going yellow.

#38 Silver Bob With the Prettiest Wave at the Ends
The soft ends are playful and gentle, plus, they elevate this classy bob from “nice” to “oh wow, who does your hair?. She’ll achieve a timeless look with her soft fringe and above-shoulder length. The fine hair density works here and creates the light, airy quality that thicker hair loses. It’s mostly a “your hair does the work” and I love that. You may need to use a texturising spray to help the waves on days when they don’t want to cooperate.

#39 Silver Bob With Waves That Practically Style Themselves
This cut looks so dreamy and effortless because of the soft layered texture around the face. When paired with loose waves, this style gives the illusion of more volume to the strands (fine to medium). Keeping this style above the shoulders makes maintenance a breeze. It gives off the vibe of “I have my life together,” but doesn’t require the time commitment of “I spent two hours on my hair.” Of course the lighter silver will need toning to prevent brassiness, that’s typical with silver and light colors. Overall this hairstyle is beautiful and requires minimal effort.

#40 Short Silver Pixie That Works Overtime on Fine Hair
Fine hair is almost a must with this pixie! Textured layers give movement and life to hair that would otherwise be flat and lifeless at longer lengths. The short cuts ensure that your hair stays fresh and isn’t weighed down, so it gives a nice, clean cut look. Most face shapes will appreciate the soft, face-framing layers, particularly round and heart. If you want to really define the layers, consider some light face-lights. Especially around hair washing day, some texture powder at the roots will help you maintain that fresh cut volume. Those who feel their fine hair has worked against them will definitely get a lot of this cut.

#41 Jawline Bob With Bangs That Know Exactly What They’re Doing
We are so excited for these bangs! They help soften your features and give your bob an even BIGGER jawline-enhancing effect. They brighten your face and help this look feel tailored to you! If your hair is fine or medium, this cut will feel REALLY light and layered, and the layers will add *air* and *volume* to the hair. Depending on your mood, you can style this cut in so many ways: wear bangs behind the ears, flip the ends out, or keep them smoothed! Bangs grow out fast and are even more annoying to schedule with a stylist, so if you would prefer to avoid regular salon visits, we can do a no-bangs version!

#42 Silver Pixie With Feathered Layers That Feel Like a Breeze
A customer once told me my description of her haircut made her feel like “a soft breeze had perfectly styled her hair and just stayed like that.” She booked the haircut then and there! The modern silver pixie is lively and light, thanks to the feathered layers. Fine hair truly thrives in this haircut. This modern pixie frames the face beautifully without losing structure on the border. The best part is, it is as low-maintenance as it gets. With this haircut, the layers need defining to make the finishing touch, and you’re out the door. If you like to keep a lot of volume in your hair, the lightweight feathering may feel a little too light for your liking. In this case, root lifting at the crown is a great option for some extra oomph!

#43 Feathered Silver Pixie That Ages Backwards
Usually, I wouldn’t say that a haircut makes someone look younger, but I actually think this one does. It might be because of how the feathered layers move around the face. The youthful feel combined with modern elegance of the silver color and bright complexion, short lengths around the chin work especially well for oval and heart-shaped face structures, and silver is fresh and modern overall is so flattering! This look is super fun for fine hair because it creates the appearance of more hair than there actually is. To keep the shape, I’d suggest a trim every 4-5 weeks and perhaps some mousse or texturizing spray on styling days. That’s it!

#44 Platinum Spiked Pixie That’s Pure Fun
If you think a ‘safe’ hairstyle is boring, you will love this cut. The playful spikes create a fun personality without being too intimidating. The platinum short and textured shape is also very striking! With this cut, fine and medium hair types gain more volume and it is suited for several face shapes, but I really love it on oval or heart shapes. Platinum is a color that demands a lot of stylist maintenance, frequent toning, and washes with special routines. Regardless, the impact of walking around with this color is unmatched.

#45 Silver Pixie With Natural Volume That Just… Works
There is no need to overcomplicate this cut. About 2 to 3 inches long with gentle layers, this cut will help fine hair to move and gain some volume. Here, the hair’s natural wave also performs and adds character without any styling. The cut is natural, and the bright silver is the icing on the cake. This cut works for oval and heart shapes faces and requires little to no styling. Given the short length, it will need to be trimmed regularly. This is a wash-and-go cut and honestly, who doesn’t want that when they are in their 60s?

#46 Delicate Layered Pixie That’s All About the Details
The layers appear well done; they are not choppy or bulky. The layers provide softness and some nice movement and subtle volumization. On straight and fine hair, the cuts give a polished appearance and a nice frame to the face. Not easy to do with a pixie cut, but this one looks great from every angle which is a huge accomplishment. Oval and round face shapes will find this style super flattering because it balances everything out. Maintaining volume with the right products is a must on fine hair. A light dry shampoo between washes works wonders. It takes very little styling time to achieve a great result.

#47 Bouncy Gray Bob That’s Having the Time of Its Life
I really enjoy how joyous this bob looks. The layers give it such a bouncy and fun head of hair, and makes you want to shake your head and watch it move. The bob also gives fine and medium hair fullness but without the added weight. The light gray color shows off the texture really well, and you can see each layer catch the light. With gray hair, the layers really pop compared to dark colors. This bob is also great for oval or heart-shaped faces. It’s a simple style to keep up with, but you’ll want to come in for regular trims to keep up the volume and shape. This cut really is all about the shape, and it can lose its magic pretty quickly when it grows out.

#48 Silver Pixie With Crown Lift That Changes Everything
Lifts by the crown will help open your face and add height. Instead of seeming flat and close to your head, the overall appearance will look lifted. Fine hair will move with the soft layers and the lightness of the cut will be complemented by the silvery color. It is most suited to oval and heart-shaped faces. Regular trims to the shape defined and some root lift product at the crown will help it stay voluminous between wash days. This is the type of haircut that clients keep coming back for. Once you see what the crown lift does for you, it will be hard to go back.

#49 Playful-Edged Silver Pixie for the Young at Heart
I adore how the playful ends give the pixie an energetic, youthful quality. While it’s not especially trying to be youthful, it looks very modern and alive! The natural texture and volume work wonders for fine to medium hair, and with the short length you’ll hardly have to style it to make a big difference. The proportions on oval and heart shaped faces are very flattering as they enhance the features and don’t draw attention away from them. Of course, the playful ends will require regular trimming to make them look intentional, otherwise they will scream “I missed my appointment!” But the way a cut like this makes you feel is completely worth it.

#50 Silver Pixie With the Smartest Nape Taper
I love when someone pays attention to nape detail on a haircut. It takes a haircut to the next level. The tapering on the pixie is SPOT ON. It modernizes the shape while keeping the back nice and clean. The soft layers add volume to fine and medium hair and the face framing layers look great on round and heart shaped faces. This looks great but will need a lot of maintenance for the sharp taper and defined layers. However, the low drying time will really speed up your daily routine.

#51 Feathered Silver Pixie That Highlights Natural Texture
A pixie cut and natural texture is a beautiful combination. Especially when we start to embrace our natural silver hair. The layered feathers will make your hair appear fuller if it is fine to medium in texture. Shorter lengths brighten your face in a way longer styles simply cannot do. If your silver is lighter, it may require a little more upkeep in toning, but as far as styling? There will be little to none. This is perfect if you are looking for something fresh and modern, and something that won’t change your morning routine drastically.
