Most of my clients are usually excited to collaborate on their outfits for the upcoming K-Pop concerts. Last week, one of my clients even showed me her Pinterest board with many outfit ideas. Honestly, I also got carried away and started saving a ton of outfit ideas during the appointment. It just seems like people give themselves the green light to step it up from their normal ‘Tuesday hair’ to something super creative. I’ll never forget that one K-Pop concert I attended with my niece. I spent the whole time staring at all the elaborate hairstyles of the fans instead of watching the performance. There was this girl in front of me with a bouncy braid and I was SO close to asking her who did it.
I like a lot of the outfits that I saved, and a lot of them don’t actually look that hard to put together. They really just look well thought out. An outfit like that paired with a killer hairstyle means you won’t just be another face in the crowd. Out of the 25 looks I found, I promise there’s something for everyone whether you want a super simple ponytail or something more elaborate like a full hair color change.
#1: Ashy Blonde Lob with That Effortless Texture
I understand that it can be a little messy, but I appreciate the ashen blonde color. It helps with the depth and contrasts nicely with the root color. It is a good length because if someone is bored with long hair, but doesn’t want to go short, this is a perfect in-between option. A shoulder length cut is good because you can always pull it up if that is what you want. The texture is nice, nothing too polished but just slightly disconnected in a pretty way. If you are thinking about going ashy, you should know you will need purple shampoo. Blonde will get brassy, and the bad kind of brassy will get you and not care about your feelings.

The style feels current but won’t be trendy to date it in 6 months. The layers give movement and softness, but not so much that you have to fight with them every morning. What I need to say is how good your highlights are. They’re woven so nicely with the texture of your hair, and are not stripy or obvious. They just look so good in the right places. If your hair is finer, this is a very smart cut. The layers create the illusion of a thicker head of hair without any thinning. You could just wake up and go.

I love this! Major main character energy! Your hair is so bouncy in the best way, and the layers are framing your face so beautifully. I love how they start at the cheekbones because it really opens everything up. I will say that this look does rely heavily on your relationship with your curl cream because if you don’t use it, then you’ll end up with a bunch of frizz instead of defined curls, and that’s a totally different vibe. The curls are telling me that someone has been doing some serious conditioning, and it shows! If your hair is thick enough to support this volume then absolutely do it. If your hair is a little on the thinner side, then we might need to have a conversation about how to modify this so it doesn’t fall flat by hour three of the concert.
#4 Space Buns Over Loose Waves, a.k.a. the Most Fun You Can Have with Bobby Pins
I get really excited when people request this look because it’s so versatile and looks great in photos! Plus, you can really get your groove thing on with this style and everything will stay in place! The main event is definitely the space buns, but the waves underneath are what keeps this from looking too costume-y and helps it feel more finished. I usually recommend curling the hair first, and then doing the buns, because you really don’t want to have the coordination struggle of trying to wave the bottom pieces after the buns are done. One more thing to consider, if you have really fine hair at the roots, those buns can pull a little after a few hours, so don’t twist them too tight. A couple of spin pins instead of regular bobby pins will hold everything in place without all of that tension.
#5 Lavender Pixie That Makes You Want to Do Something Brave
If you sit where I am and say you want to do something different, this is the kind of vibe I wish you were going for. Every part of this pixie is so well done, and the lavender takes it somewhere else. You have just the right amount of length on top to play and keep it close on the sides. The color is there, but it seems on some device tones it is just cool and others it seems straight purple. That’s the best color to have. But saying that, I won’t lie. Fashion colors on short hair fade out quickly since you were going to be washing it a lot and there’s less hair to hold on to pigment. This will be one of those situations where color depositing conditioner is going to be your best friend.

We are talking about a concert and I am getting countryside wedding vibes, which I think adds to the charm. The braid that crosses over the top is lovely and the waves that sit under it are soft and loose enough to keep it from feeling too serious. For those who want to pull their hair off their face, this is probably my favourite, because it looks about a thousand times better than a plain ponytail. I suggest going with your natural waves for the bottom section, instead of having to stress about a curling iron when you’re out for hours.

There’s a good reason I have a picture of a texturized wavy bob for every three customers that walk in, and that’s because the style looks good on almost everyone. This version has some subtle layering underneath that creates a lot of movement in the hair, and is really nice (even if you don’t see it at first). It’s one of those haircuts where the design does all the talking, and you just have to be there. The length falls just above the shoulders, which is that sweet spot where the look is meant to be, and you can tuck it behind your ears or leave it out. I would just say to wash it, scrunch it, and put in some styling product, then just air dry it, and you’re good to go.

I like designs that incorporate a variety of influences but come together effectively. The top braids offer a sense of structure and control but then they just give way to softer waves, which change the feel of the whole look. This looks especially good on medium length hair, because you won’t have too short braids and the waves will have enough length to do their thing. If your hair tends to slip out of braids, a little dry texture spray before you start braiding gives it something to grip onto.

If the braids were done a little too neatly, the entire look would go off, and the braids wouldn’t look as good. Having your hair a little textured or wavy would be ideal since the little imperfections would be a perfect addition. If your hair is too straight and slippery, that’s also okay, but you will probably want to rough it up a bit because the goal is to create some grip. Once the braids are in, you can just chill and relax because you won’t even need to think about your hair for the rest of night. These braids are one of the most ideal hairstyles to have for a concert.

Loving all these moments! What an artistic take! Every little thing! Awesome job ombre! And wow! Pigtails always catch attention in a nice way especially when they have an awesome color. The shift from deep brown to lovely golden amber to warm orange is an amazing color combination in any situation! And the fiery curls are the perfect compliment! The dark roots change to amber and then glow orange. With every curl and spiral the colors will reflect! What a fun low commitment style! It is a big time and money commitment especially with the tri color brown, amber, and orange. Instead of a big defined curly do, just do daily conditioning! Don’t be the one who has crunchy curls! Just be ready to be one of those people who needs to be the center of attention! This will definitely do it! Pigtails keep the overall vibe fun! And will always be age appropriate! People will see you rocking it! And this confidence look will do all the talking for you!

This look is bold and different, as the crown accent braid is very small but certainly promotes a whole new vibe for a typical wavy style. It elevates the look from a simple, “I have nice hair” to an intentional, “I put thought into this” with all the confidence and distinction needed for an occasion. The soft, romantic, and unstructured waves go well with the braid. The overall polished style is still maintained in a sort of casual way. For this look, starting with the waves is a good idea. I would recommend a 1.25 inch curling iron to promote much needed volume to your waves, and then let the waves cool before you do the braid. This will give you a lot of room to work with.

The balayage here is stunning. Let’s analyze it. The reason that this balayage looks so good is because of the way the natural light hits the hair. Many balayages tend to look messy, but this one looks purposeful. The fringe is so soft and curtain-like, and I think it’s lovely. The way she layered it around the face is very framing and effortless. I appreciate the high amount of texture throughout. The hair might not be curled, but it does create a look of direction. It looks like the hair was styled but then just let go. This is the hairstyle people ask for. The brown tones in the balayage will suit most skin tones. She’s also thought about how it will look as it grows out, which is great.
#14 Half-Up Boho Waves for When You Want to Look Effortless but Aren’t
I’ll be honest, it does take about 20 minutes to complete this style. For some of my clients, it’s about not overthinking it, which I know is the hardest part. For half-up styles, the hair should be pulled back loosely so that the head doesn’t get any flattening. I’ve seen way too many people pull the hair too tight at the top. When it comes to the waves underneath, you’re going to want to use a curling iron, trust the process, and let it give you that lived-in texture. The warm highlighted mid-lengths do a great job of adding dimension without being too distracting. This style is going to be crucial for concerts, especially if you’re going to be moving around a lot for a few hours. If you notice your waves fall a little flat, make sure to spray them with a flexible hold hairspray before you pull up the top section.

There’s something about this hairstyle that I cannot quite explain, but it evokes a different era. The bangs are just the right weight for a sci-fi look. Rather, they should look soft, and they will move. She has a little wave in her hair, and her lob is cut at an angle for some attitude. I thank you for the respect shown to the natural wave in the hair; it is never a battle you want to fight. The length is perfect, and the hair can sit sweetly behind one ear and it looks a little different. If your hair has any natural wave in it, this is the haircut you need. It’ll look better on day two too.

I think the overall look is definitely sold by the face tendrils. Without the tendrils, this could easily just be a classic pretty updo. Face tendrils make this style way more flattering and personalized, it looks like this hairstyle was designed just for your face. The main focus on the style is the relaxed braids that flow nicely into the updo which is great because the overall relaxed look makes it ideal for a concert, it’s not too formal or bridal. A lot of people ask me how to do this, and I always suggest that you curl the face framing pieces last, after everything is pinned and set. If you don’t do this, then you’ll definitely get annoyed when the braids get in your face. Just do these tendils in a loose wave in the end and let them cool. They will fall perfectly.
#17 Blue Braids with Space Buns for When You’re Fully in Your Era
This look is straight out of chaos and I respect it completely. The blue coloring is a bright and fully saturated color, which could mean either a wig, extensions, or an extreme commitment to the bleach and dye process, either way, the result is great. The braids that feed into the space buns are done super cleanly and the proportions are dead on. The buns are not too big or small in comparison to the rest of the hair. That is something that definitely can go way out of whack. If you are doing this with your own hair, and a fashion color, just know that blue is the hardest color to remove later. Be at peace with that before you sit down. If you want the look without the commitment, you can buy a pack of blue braiding hair extensions that will give you the look for the night and you can take them out after without any damage.
#18 High Ponytail with Wispy Bangs That Makes You Look Like a Main Character
There are a lot of simple styles that, from a distance, appear easy. However, on a closer look, you will appreciate the different elements that go into achieving that end look. Yours is a good example of different heights with the ponytail and bangs, and the volume at the crown. All these details are geared towards achieving a more natural look. This curtain bang style is one of my favorites, because the bangs are parted so they side fall completely to the side, and that changes the shape of the face so much. A ponytail at the concert will be a huge benefit, because no one wants all their hair on their necks while they dance and sing along to the songs. When it comes to that volume at the crown of the head, bump its are a huge no no. Instead of using bump-its to achieve that lifted look at the front, it’s best to tease the roots at the front of the head. Once the hair is pulled back, it’s okay to brush out the tease so that it doesn’t look like a big nest, and then you are good to go!

I love how good this looks! The layering is so great! It’s not always this seamless with the starting point of the layers being blended enough to avoid the creation of steps. The highlights are placed on top so that when the hair moves, it adds a flash of lighter color that comes and goes, which makes it look like the hair is performing! This is an amazing option for someone who is looking to make a change without losing much length. The layers create movement and add dimension. The upkeep is moderate; you’ll need to get a trim every couple of months to keep the layers from getting stringy at the ends, and because of how the color is placed, you can go a while before needing to get it touched up.
#20 Auburn Space Buns Over Long Straight Hair with That Perfect Fringe
The color, a warm, deep auburn, is what stood out to me the most. I kept scrolling back to look at it. Next I noticed the space buns which are messy, and the rest of the hair underneath is long and mostly straight. The bangs are also soft and full, and they help to tie everything together, and give some balance to the look in front since the buns are playful. The best part about this look is the buns are a little more undone, so they are not perfectly round and symmetrical. In this style, it looks best when you don’t use a mirror to do the buns. The less precise you are, the better it ends up looking.

My go-to hairstyle for concerts is an adorable ponytail. I like a medium-height ponytail, and I let a few strands out to create some face-framing layers. This makes it look less like I slopped it together and more like a deliberate hairstyle. To give my ponytail waves and some body, I styled it with a heat tool, but I know using a heat tool is an unpopular styling method, so here’s a better option. If your hair is naturally on the straighter side, you can achieve a similar wave look by undoing braids after a sleep and on-damp braiding session. Toss your hair up in the ponytail afterward, and you’ll have that gorgeous wave look without using heat.
#22 Blunt Bob with Bangs That Means Business
There’s a reason blunt bobs show confidence. The graphic shape created from blunt ends is softened with the addition of bangs. Highlights (without color-changing dimensions) do a great job to keep the shape of the blunt bob. This cut is versatile in the sense that it looks just as great freshly cut as it does more relaxed as it grows out. You get two different looks from the same haircut! For styling, I recommend a boar bristle paddle brush and blow dryer — that’s all it takes to get that nice swingy smooth effect.
#23 Long Dark Layers with Curtain Bangs and That Specific Warmth
The deep brown base seems to be doing more work than people give it credit for. It’s not just brown, there is an undertone of brown warmth which makes everything look rich and healthy. The layers are long and frame-in, so that your eyes are drawn inward. The curtain bangs fall to the perfect length, as they split in the middle and feather out to the sides. For styling, I think this type of bang looks best when you just don’t overthink it. Just blow dry them forward with your fingers and then let them separate into their own natural part. The length has waves which really looks like they occur naturally. This is such an effortless style that looks great for a Saturday night concert or Tuesday evening.
#24 Braided Crown into a Long Side Braid, the Whole Package
What I love the most is how the braid goes from the crown to the side almost like one big braid that wraps all the way around the head. It looks really intricate and complicated, but it only takes a few simple repetitions to master the technique. The braid that is done here is very relaxed compared to other braids which gives it more of a relaxed and less tight look. This is a great hairstyle to wear to a concert since everything is super secure. You could definitely do some headbanging and it would def still look good after. If you want to recreate this style but you’re not really great at braiding yet, I would suggest practicing the crown portion of the braid because it really is just that and then a side braid after.
#25 High Pigtails with Soft Layers and a Little Pop of Pink
I have a bit of a nostalgic love for adult pigtails, and I definitely think they deserve a resurgence, especially at concerts where the entire point is to have fun with your look! The height of these is good for nice, bouncy energy and the layered pigtails keep it from looking heavy or old fashioned. Your hair looks smooth and healthy and whatever shine product or treatment you have going on here is doing the job! The pink hair ties are a cute little detail that stand out. It definitely feels more intentional than just “ponytails on both sides” to “I chose this specifically.” That kind of intention makes all the difference. If your pigtails are prone to sagging throughout the night, I suggest wrapping a small elastic at the base of the pigtail and then tying your cute one over it so that the hold is actually coming from something functional underneath.
