While looking through one of my client’s Pinterest boards, I saw she had forty different pinned styles. Each of them gave the impression of “I want to look polished, but I don’t want to try that hard.” Honestly, that’s the best type of vibe to work with. Such styles give off this type of energy. These styles are for those women who won’t be influenced into something high maintenance and requires a ton of styling just for the sake of getting a good shot.
In my experience, the women who look most elegant and immaculate often put the least effort into styling their hair. About three years ago, I had a client who was in her sixties. She came in every six weeks and was, to the minute, on time for her trim. It was literally just a half-inch trim, but her hair was phenomenal because she had really good foundation hair. What I want you to take away from this is that with the right cut and the right person, you get to take all the credit.

#1: Tousled Brunette Shag with Those Perfect Feathered Bangs
I understand that some might view shags as being messy and not put together enough, but this take is genuinely clever. For the bangs, the cut seems to be working just right – curtain bangs seem to be a lot of work to maintain. Also, the layering towards the middle really helps achieve that lived-in look, fullness and movement – not too stringy for finer hair. In terms of illusion for thickness, the slightly darker shade of brown is doing the bulk of the work. If you wanted to full undone look, you could just wake up and put some texturizing spray in your hair. A lot undo styles relax throughout the day, but if that’s the case, you may want to revisit it after lunch if you want that piece separation to be maintained.

#2 Blown-Out Shoulder-Length Layers with That Rooty Blonde
Simple cuts aren’t always simple. The volume given through the crown and invisible stacking comes from interior graduation. The person cutting those face-framing pieces is good because she also lifts the whole front hairline area without being too obvious about it. The root shadow situation is clever because it allows you to go longer between appointments without the harsh demarcation line becoming obvious. I’ll be honest and say this is not a wash and go. It will take a round brush and about ten minutes with a hair dryer to get those flared ends to behave, and if you skip that step it’s going to read more flat than flowy instead of giving it the look of a full blowout. But this will be a beautiful choice for those who blow dry their hair already.

#3 Clean Gray Bob at the Chin with Soft Layers Inside
I appreciate when clients choose to embrace their gray hair instead of trying to dye it, and this look shows that perfectly. The bright white color down the center part is doing what highlights could never do, and that is creating eye movement and dimension. The blunt cut keeps it polished and professional, plus the point cut layers stop the bob from being helmety, which is always the chin bob danger with really straight hair. You might need some sort of heat tool along with a round brush to get that curl to sit nicely, especially if your hair is a bit unruly. If your stylist holds back (which is likely) some internal layering, coarse hair will definitely feel heavier than medium or fine, but it will be perfect on fine.

#4 Platinum Pixie with That Little Feathered Top
This person definitely has their life in order. The micro layers are designed for what happens to be a cowlick. Instead of hiding it, this cut emphasizes it for volume. Very smart. The platinum color is really nice for mature skin and opens up the face. You definitely won’t get the same effects with darker colors. Up at the top, you’ll need a styling paste for those defined pieces, and you’re going to need to tone the silver every few weeks because it’ll get brassy. If you have extremely coarse hair, I wouldn’t recommend this because it will battle you on the softness. If you have very fine hair, you may find it hard to get the volume at the top, but for the right hair type this is gorgeous.

#5 Silver Mid-Length Blowout with the Tucked-Under Ends
It may seem old-fashioned, but this style reminds me of my mother’s friends and their hairstyles. I like how she did the ‘U’ shaped graduation at the top, how there’s no visible layering but it still looks light, and how there’s a slight graduation at the nape that makes the ends look nice. I really love the front piece. It’s bright and really opens up her face without having to do an all over balayage. I think the only downside to this is that the blow-dry will do about 60% of the work for you, so it can be a little frustrating if you aren’t confident in your round-brushing. A lot of people don’t realize how easily purple shampoo can get rid of an unwanted yellow tint without compromising the silver.

#6 Chin-Length Bob with That Natural Crown Lift
A bob that sits right above the chin is usually very flattering no matter the person, and this one has some extra ‘engineering’ that I appreciate. There is some radial graduation which will create lift at the crown, and due to the architecture of the cut, it will not need teasing or any product build-up. The ends are point cut to avoid the look being too blunt or boxy. She also has that great little outward flip that adds some personality to the cut! This style is cut by someone who understands layering so that the case graduation is perfect, otherwise the cut will sit weird. It really just needs a light blow dry to complete it—nothing big.

#7 Silver Pixie with Feathered Crown and Those Tapered Sides
Silver-haired pixies are super stylish, you look great! I love that combination. With side-swept bangs, they’re configured so as not to cover your face, and the nape keeps it all tidy. The color of the roots is a lovely contrast and adds the dimension that color usually would. The only downside is the crown cowlick. If you don’t blow dry that thing in the right direction while it’s still damp, it’ll be wild the whole day. A light texturizing product through the top and you’re good to go!

#8 Curly Shoulder-Length Silver with All Those Beautiful Ringlets
Let’s take a moment to appreciate how striking silver natural curls can be. The interior layering will take curly hair to the next level because it will allow each curl to spring up without weighing them down into a triangular shape. The rounded ends and natural side part really give it that effortless classy look. If your hair is within curl type 2C to 3A and is medium to high density, then I definitely recommend this. Just be sure to invest in a good diffuser. The only downside to this is the humidity because with this type of texture, curls will expand in moisture. So be mindful of that if you live in a tropical place. A little tapering at the nape area can help keep the back from looking too bulky.

#9 Feathered Shoulder-Length Cut with That Gorgeous Temple Streak
That white temple streak is everything. I’ve had clients ask me to recreate this with bleach and honestly, it never looks as good when it happens naturally, so if you’ve got one growing in, please just let it do its thing. The feathered layers here are really well done. They are giving movement and softness without making the hair look thin, and the curtain fringe frames the face in a way that’s flattering without being fussy. The subtle lowlights through the rest of the hair help blend where the gray meets the natural color so there’s no harsh lines. You’ll need a quick blowout or some light styling cream to get that feathered flip going, and if your gray tends to frizz, a smoothing treatment might be worth looking into.

#10 Cropped Silver Pixie with a Really Pretty Blended Fringe
This style looks really high-end and takes almost no effort. The bangs are so seamlessly blended that it doesn’t even look like they were cut like that. They look like the hair just falls like that. There are some point-cut layers at the top so it stays interesting but not too messy. This is great for straight fine hair. With fine hair you just towel dry and go, maybe add some product and you can even run your fingers through it. The only thing is that fine hair like this can get flat easily at this length. The bangs will need to be trimmed every three to four weeks so get ready for that, they grow out really fast.

#11 Copper Angled Bob with That Deep Side Sweep
Copper shades are warm and inviting. Most people think of orange when they picture a poor quality copper. Fortunately, this cut avoids that with it’s color and style. The deep side swoop creates instant elevation and the internal graduation adds a flattering little tuck under the jaw. We have that little detail at the nape, a tiny ridge that secures the weight and that is the difference between a good haircut and a great one. As red tones fade faster than most other colors you will need to budget for some touchups to keep the color as vibrant as it is now. For that inward curve round brush drying will be a must.

#12 Chestnut Shoulder-Length Layers with Face-Framing Curtain Pieces
I like that haircut because it makes people appear healthy and organized without looking like they put in much effort. The long layers give the hair a fuller, more bouncy appearance and the bangs that frame the face are playful and youthful. The slight crown stack is great because it adds height to the hair and helps with areas that tend to go flat with medium density. The chestnut color is also great since it’s warm and cute, yet is not very high maintenance. It isn’t hard to maintain, so you won’t have to visit the salon every four weeks. If you are beginning to see some gray hairs, a subtle root shadow or babylights will help to blend in the grays without creating a hard line.

#13 Icy Textured Pixie with a Tiny Little Micro Fringe
I really appreciate the micro fringe’s willingness to go for it. It takes a lot of skill to create a messy and seemingly effortless appearance. Lots of skill. There is great dimension with root smudges because they help avoid that flat look that is always a risk with very short silver hair. If you have fine to medium straight hair and an oval face, this is going to look amazing on you. You have to be fine with it being very exposed; your hairline and growth patterns are completely visible. Keeping the silver fresh will also help with yellowing, so you will want to get a soft toning glaze every few weeks.

#14 Silver Chin-Length Bob with Feathered Side Fringe
The stacked nape is doing a lot of the work and getting zero credit where the volume and overall shape of the bob comes from. It’s what contributes to the thickness and healthiness factor of the bob, even on finer hair. The longer face-framing layers, as well as the feathery side fringe, ease up the whole thing so it doesn’t feel too severe. Whoever cut this obviously noticed the little crown whorl and used it for natural lift (which is simply good haircutting). If you’re embracing your natural gray, this is a really classy way to do that. To keep it this clean, you’ll need some root-lift product and a bit of daily styling. Routine toning will brighten the silver, and a subtle root shadow will do the trick, while razor-textured ends will finish it off really nicely.

#15 Rounded Silver Bob with a Deep Side Part
A deep side part is an amazing styling secret that I think should be used more often, especially for women of a more mature age. It creates asymmetry and volume without significant chopping of the hair. This bob has some internal soft layering that creates a nice inward bend throughout the entire length, which is an amazing effect. There is also some gentle forward layering on one side to soften the jawline, which is a great remedy to the problem that a lot of stylists tend to overdo with too much layering. This works really well for fine to medium straight hair. It is also important that one has a round brush or a thermal styling brush to achieve the inward roll. I wouldn’t really recommend this for very coarse and thick hair as it will fight against the desired shape, but for the right person, this style can be exceptionally stunning.

#16 Warm Ash-Brunette Long Layers with Root Shadow and Feathered Ends
This one has a warm ash-brunette color which I think is really pretty and the melted roots will make grow outs look intentional. The babylights offer enough variation to appear as though there is natural dimension instead of one flat color. The inner layers and feathered ends create a polished bend at the bottom so it looks like you spent a longer time on it than you really did. If your hair is medium to thick and wavy this will work beautifully on you. If your hair is fine you might need to do some extra work at the top to avoid it looking sparse. A lightweight hold product will be best to keep the bend from dropping.

#17 Angled Shoulder-Length Bob with Face-Framing Layers
It is clear that thought has gone into every single detail of this cut. The A-line shape will offer some structure, and with the layered face-framing pieces, the back is guaranteed to look soft! The stacked nape will make a lot of airy volume that a blunt cut bob just will not give you. The root shadow is a great touch because it adds depth at the scalp to make gray regrowth look purposeful and not like a mess. The ends that are razor point cut, as well as the mid-lengths that are sliced vertically, will give you movement the blunt ends just can’t. You might need a blowout or some smoothing with a flat iron if you want to keep the angle looking sharp, and if you have very coarse tight curls this is probably not the cut for you unless you are okay with losing a lot of weight.

#18 Crisp White Wispy Pixie with That Feathered Top
Shiny icy white hair is beautiful. The white hair glossing technique is the secret to getting white hair without a dirty and unkempt look. Micro layering in the crown helps lift your hair and hides a cowlick and soft side bangs look nice without being too thick. This is a great haircut for people on the go and those who don’t like to style their hair much as you can towel dry and go. The only thing is having to watch for over thinning. For fine hair, it is easy to go from nice and piecey to sparse. You’ll want some scissor over comb cuts and a light texturizing product to maintain your shape throughout the day.

#19 Warm Cocoa Graduated Bob with Micro-Layers That Sculpt the Face
I love this one from the collection because the cut does a great job of saying a lot with little. The internal wedge grad rounds the silhouette and adds root lift without product. The micro layering by the face offers some gentle sculpting which is super flattering. The root smudge babylights offer depth as well as keep maintenance time frames reasonable. This cut is best on fine to medium hair and I probably wouldn’t suggest it for thick or curly hair because the grad won’t sit right. However on the right person it looks super effortless.

#20 Silver Textured Bob with Waves and Side-Swept Layers
I love the natural wave, and instead of blow drying it, they are working with the cut. The feathered sliced layers and internal graduation at the nape allows for control of each wave while still maintaining the overall shape, which is ultimately the goal for wavy hair. There is a small cowlick at the part which is actually helping with lift, and the person who cut it knew to leave it alone, and that was the right call. Your low contrast regrowth means you won’t have to worry about roots every three weeks. On the contrary, waves need some encouragement to look like this defintely so once your hair is damp, then you will need to scrunch a wave spray or cream in. You should be careful with humidity because it can be an issue and you will need to periodically tone it to keep warmth from creeping in.

#21 Silver Feathered Mid-Length with a Gorgeous Curtain Fringe
I love the curtain fringe! It gives a softer effect to the face and it provides a nice contrast against silver hair. It looks natural and not like you are trying to appear younger. The long, blended layers create a soft and airy movement while the root melt lightens it and provides depth. Just the right amount of cool dimension without too much contrast. It will look stunning on hair like that. If the hair is really fine, your stylist should point cut some layers to add lift because otherwise the layers will likely sit too flat. Those ends will not hold a curl, so straight textures will suit it best. For instance, it keeps the color consistently cool and looks good with an ash glaze every now and then.

#22 Espresso Shag with the Softest Fringe
Espresso does have some magic about it that makes everything feel rich. And it really works on this shag. The layering is just right so that you get lots of volume without the hair looking too thinned out, which can be a problem with shags on finer hair. The wispy ends give it lots of movement, and the fringe does a lovely job of bringing some softness to the face and helps to soften stronger features without hiding them. From day to night, I think this cut moves really well which I know is such a cliche, but it honestly looks just as good dressed up as it does with jeans. The one thing to remember is that shags require maintenance. Those layers grow out and lose their definition in about six weeks so keep that in mind when planning. She looks great with this style, and it’s especially good for oval and heart shaped faces.

#23 Tumbled Chestnut Waves with Sandy Highlights Through the Front
The placement of the highlights is nice, mainly in the front and mids where the light would naturally hit the hair. This gives a more natural look as it adds dimension, something that is difficult to achieve with a solid color. The mid-length cut is at the shoulders and I think that is the sweet spot for most women, as at that length it is long enough to pull back if needed, while short enough that it has shape and movement to it. The base color is a rich warm chestnut brown and the highlights are sandy, so they warm up the whole mixture while also softening the face. For this look, I would recommend either a large barrel curling iron or a round brush. While the look will be very polished, the highlights will need to be blended and refreshed every few months.

#24 Flowing Golden Waves with That Sun-Kissed Gradient
What I love about this color is how natural it is! The way the darker roots turn into lighter ends looks sun-kissed, and the grow-out will look super nice. The face framing layers add volume with out making the ends look thin, and the cut is versatile. The natural waves look great and with straight hair you would need a lot of tools to achieve that look. The only thing is, if you live in a humid area you’re going to want to get some anti-humidity spray. You may want to fight some frizz. Overall, I love the color and the maintenance will be worth it because it will look nice faded. The volume and bounce will need some coaxing to stay defined.

#25 Golden Layered Cut for When You Want Effortless Volume
You’ll have people complimenting you on this cut and guessing what it is that makes it so good. Well, the answer is the layering. The layers are added at the ends, giving just enough movement to create life in the hair while retaining all the thickness. The shoulder length is also super easy to maintain and super versatile, and the roots are lifted from the cut, not products, which is ideal for those who don’t love to style their hair. The layered look is super volumizing, so if you have medium to fine hair, you’re in luck! The golden colour is also lovely and warm, but just remember the lighter the colour, the more frequent trips to the salon you’ll need to do to touch up your roots.

#26 Golden Mid-Length with the Most Natural Flow
Sometimes the best haircuts look like they haven’t been cut at all. This is one of those haircuts. The hair moves beautifully and the haircut is just so pretty and elegant. The subtle feathering makes the ends of the hair feel lighter and not so blunt and heavy. It can provide just the right volume on fine hair with moderate density without being overwhelming. This haircut is so low maintenance that it looks good air dried, good with a blowout and good on day 3. It looks so good in a golden warm shade too, and adds a nice glow to the overall look. Unlike other haircuts to keep the silhouette this clean you will need to do touch ups every 6-8 weeks, but it is hands off in between appointments, so you won’t have to do much to keep the look.

#27 Warm Auburn at the Shoulders with Those Delicate Little Fringes
What a wonderful choice in color! It gives a lovely warm glow to your skin and is especially great for women going from gray hair to something softer. The floaty delicate fringes add a soft touch and visually draw attention to your eyes and cheekbones. The beauty of shoulder length hair is the versatility and range you get with it. Plus, you can let it all hang down or do a half up, half down style, depending on what you feel like. If your hair is on the thinner side, this is a great option too as the cut facilitates an airy feeling without adding weight – something that layers would do to give the illusion of having less hair. The color will require consistent upkeep as it is an auburn, but it is such a beautiful color to have that salon visits will be necessary.

#28 Mid-Length Layered Cut That Works With Your Texture
For this haircut, I am really glad that it does not fight against the natural flow of your hair. The layers are good here because they remove some of the bulk around the middle and ends and this allows natural movement to show. Hair that is medium to thick in volume especially benefits from this. Without interior layers, the hair can have a very heavy and triangular shape. There is good enough length in the mid-lengths to have length with out looking too long so I appreciate that as well. There are a lot of styling possibilities. You can wear it straight, in soft waves, or even let it air dry for an effortless, washed, and dried look. In thicker hair, the layers will tend to grow out quicker so I advise you to have regular hair cuts every 6 to 8 weeks to keep it looking fresh.

#29 Brunette Feathered Layers with a Subtle Curtain Bang
The bangs are done incredibly well here—unlike some styles, they don’t distract from the other features that are being accentuated. The soft bangs fall over the eyelids, softly drawing attention to the face without saying “Look at my bangs.” The layered feathers give just the right amount of volume and soft face shape, and they are flattering on everyone. The rich brown hair color is also youthful, and the natural waves in the hair add effortless personality, and not a single curl was used. The ear-length is practical, so you won’t be spending hours styling this haircut. You will need to come in for trims to maintain the shape and the bangs, and aside from that, this hair is low maintenance. Variations of this look have been in style for many years, and it’s easy to see why it is popular. It suits a wide range of lifestyles and routines.

#30 Caramel Waves at the Shoulders with Tapered Ends
The tapered ends are creating something wonderful as they show off the jawline in a way most cuts don’t even think about. Waves give fine hair that wants more volume the fullness it craves, and the caramel hue is warm and natural, making everything look healthy. The forgiving shoulder length works great on both round and oval face shapes and gives enough length to style it without it being too heavy. This is a really nice look that little bounce and movement, makes your everyday look a little fancier without you having to do a lot. I will say that you will probably need a curling iron or hot rollers to maintain the waves because this is a situation where the texture is not natural, it’s styled.

#31 Silver Waves with a Soft, Tossed Feel
This haircut creates an amazing impression of growing out grey hairs, and that’s an important detail with this cut. The layered waves create movement, which adds brightness and bounce to the hair. And layered waves help get rid of the extra weight that causes thick hair to feel heavy, without making it look over-thinned. It frames an oval face very nicely. The mid-length cut leaves enough hair with an appropriate structure to create those waves, and that silhouette allows you to pretty much curl, shake and go. That’s the best part but yes, you will need to put in some work, it’s not pillowcase friction that’s going to give you those waves. If your hair is really fine, you’re going to want a volumizing mousse at the roots before you start curling. For a person with medium to thick grey hair, this style communicates that a lot of effort has gone into it but in reality, it’s a super easy option.

#32 Natural Gray with a Barely-There Lavender Tint
What a great example of creativity! Mixing natural gray hair with a hint of lavender is a great idea. The lavender highlight adds a level of sophistication and artistic flair to the natural silver. Long layers help preserve length, something many women don’t want to lose. Lavender is great for thick hair because it adds dimension and movement. Plus, it looks great on cooler skin tones and is perfect when the gray hair is intentional. While some may think of lavender as a fashion tone, it is also good to think about the maintenance it requires. Compared to other colors, lavender does tend to fade quickly, meaning your hair will require more upkeep than it does with a more traditional color. To combat that, you can use a tinted conditioner for a quick fix to maintain that lavender hue between appointments. All things considered, the lavender is definitely worth it!

#33 Chestnut Bob with the Prettiest Subtle Waves
To me, this seems like a classic “set and forget” kind of cut, and I mean that in a good way. The bob sits just above the shoulders and the length is ideal for movement, as you can have plenty of it while still keeping the shape. The subtle waves are a great way to add volume to fine hair! I think the gray here is so lovely; the blend is nice and there’s no harsh line on growing roots. The chestnut shade is a great color because it isn’t too dark or too light, and will be easy to keep looking nice without a ton of maintenance. I would say it gives a more polished look without requiring a ton of time for styling, and it will stay looking neat throughout the day. You may want to use defining cream for the waves to look more intentional, but overall, this style really doesn’t take much effort. This would be great for anyone who wants their hair to look good without having to do much.

#34 Cinnamon Layered Bob with Soft Bangs That Just Work
This haircut is amazing!! And I love the bangs. They look like they were cut in a very specific way to not only give them a certain shape but also help to bring out the eyes. And the warm Rich cinnamon shade is to die for! The layers that have been added give the appearance that medium density hair is full and healthy. The light layering around the face is just enough to soften features without changing the line of the cut and you really get the face framing benefits without losing any of that line. Its effortless youthful look. And if you live somewhere that is really humid this haircut will cause you to have to spend time on the bangs and layers to get them to calm down because it will be frizz free. But it is a haircut that is pretty easy to manage.

#35 Tawny Tousled Bob with Bangs That Look Like You Didn’t Try
The unstructured appearance of the style is wonderful. The bangs and waves are softer and looser. The hairstyle gives off the idea of being natural and comfortable in your own skin. The warm tawny shade enhances your skin tone in a soft and natural way and helps avoid the awkwardness that can come with certain styles of bobs. It is also more forgiving for finer hair because the tousled texture creates the illusion of more hair. The daily upkeep is definitely less than longer styles. You can just fingerstyle it and that’s it It’s important to manage the casual texture because if the balance is off between looking ‘effortless’ and too dirty, dry shampoo will do the trick on days you don’t want to wash it. Like other styles, it can be dressed up or down, but in this case it’s actually true.

#36 Jet-Black Bob with a Sleek Side Part
It’s the color of the cut that makes it bold. Jet black makes a good balance with the rest of the cut being so clean and simple. The side part and soft curves around the face take away the harshness and make it look even more polished. This looks excellent on oval and heart-shaped faces. It’s very easy to maintain. Daily styling is limited and so quick that all that’s really involved is a brush and possibly some flat iron touch up if you want to increase the extra sleekness of the cut. Regular trimming is a must to maintain the look. If you’re gray, touch ups to the darker color are required and skipping appointments shows brassiness. This cut is best suited for thicker hair because it gives a full substantial look and requires little to no styling.

#37 Silver Waves, Lightly Layered and Really Lovely
While some styles rely on the cut to do the talking, with this one, it’s the color that takes center stage. The light layers enhance natural waves, creating a fuller and more organic movement to your hair. The silver hue will camouflage any grays so seamlessly that you can stretch that time between salon visits, and I know that’s a big deal for a lot of people. If your hair is naturally wavy, this is a wash-and-go style! If your hair is super straight or thin, you may need to do a bit more styling to achieve that wave with a quick pass of a curling iron or some styling product, but overall, it shouldn’t require a ton of effort. The practical and balanced medium length gives you a look that is sleek and polished without the hassle.

#38 Glossy Raven Layered Cut with Wispy Bangs
Raven black is a solid choice for color. With longer strands, it creates all sorts of beautiful volume and movement. Flow is created with cut layers. Wispy bangs help direct people’s gaze to your eyes and suit your face shape. They help achieve a younger look that doesn’t seem like you’re trying to appear younger. It’s more like you’re the best version of your age. Darker colors help disguise stray gray hairs, meaning you don’t have to get touch ups as often as with lighter shades. This shade is perfect for those who have a busy lifestyle. When it comes to maintenance, styling doesn’t take much time, tools, or effort. One thing to keep in mind is that really dark shades tend to highlight fine lines more so than lighter shades. If that’s a concern of yours, definitely discuss that with your stylist. If you and your stylist decide that this is the best color, it will look phenomenal!

#39 Tousled Caramel Waves That Look Like You Just Got Back from Somewhere Beautiful
Caramel color is simply beautiful. It gives texture and creates that beach vibe. Waves are generally are awesome for everyone, but if you have a heart or oval face shape, it will suit you best! If you have fine or medium hair, this layered cut will give you a heap of volume. Best of all, this style is super easy to wear day to day. It is a super easy ‘do. Just give it a bit of a toss and you’re good to go. You might have to touch base with a curling elf every now and then, but that is literally all of the maintenance. The caramel color might get brassy and need to be touched up, but the roots will be a nice break! The color will grow out and you will love the look of it applied to the hair.

#40 Soft Blonde Waves with Those Natural-Looking Roots
Your stylist’s choice of darker roots is very clever. As your hair grows out the roots will help disguise the grow out phase. Soft waves are a great option if you want added movement. This look provides great volume and thickness, and the length is perfect for work and the weekend. This hairstyle is low maintenance because the length is easy to manage. If you have an oval or heart shaped face the look will really suit you. The only downside to light colors is they need more frequent trips to the salon to keep them from looking grown out and faded. If you tend to have fine hair, you may need to use a volumizing spray to achieve this level of volume. The look is great and definitely worth it.

#41 Wavy Brunette Bob with Wispy Bangs That Soften Everything
I really like bangs like this. I think it is better when bangs are light and soft like this because it highlights the eyes and softens the forehead. I also think the internal layering looks really great because it creates some volume and movement for those with finer hair. I personally love the waves because they add a lot of fun and character and I don’t think a lot of styling commitment goes into it. It looks like a lot of product was used, but I would recommend using a light mousse while the hair is still damp, then a spray to hold the waves from falling. This haircut looks classy in that it has a timeless quality to it and it fits so many different lifestyles. The potential for it to grow out well is a bonus.

#42 Soft-Copper Pixie with Feathered Layers for Days
The warm and soft copper tone on this pixie enhances the dimensional and textured appearance of the feathered layers. The Cut is very impactful on hair that is thinned out due to the short length of the cut being at the fullest part of the hair. This creates movement in the layered feathers and gives the appearance of more density than really exists. A matte finishing product will beautifull emphasize the texture. The practical side to this style is that it will need to be cut every four to five weeks to keep it looking sharp. If you like to date appointments close, this may be your look. However, if you do prefer to set appointments further apart, this cut will make your mornings less time-consuming. It will also look lovely on those with oval and heart-shaped faces.

#43 Deep Auburn Pixie with Textured Layers and Those Wispy Little Bangs
The rich dark auburn color here is FANTASTIC. It is doing something really clever by providing just enough color depth to create a visual contrast against the skin without being too dark and heavy. The textured layers really add a vibrancy to this cut which prevents it looking too simple or utilitarian. The soft, wispy bangs make it really flattering, especially on oval and heart shaped faces. This is going to look intentional and full on fine to medium hair, and the daily styling is minimal- usually just a bit of product rubbed through your fingers. Since pixies grow out quickly, you will need to keep your shape maintained regularly because the proportions shift quickly, but the day-to-day life of this cut is about as easy as it gets. I think it’s a nice balance. There’s just a little bit of edge without being too intimidating.

#44 Auburn Tousle with Highlights That Catch the Light
I like the combination of dark and light auburn colors. They create some nice dimension to the hair. The short length works best for fine to medium hair as it provides volume where aging takes it away. The layers create the body and the tussled texture helps achieve a modern look. This hairstyle is good for round face shapes as the layers create angles and the side swept look elongates the face. The color is the only thing that needs some work as the highlights are faded. The warm tones shift so regular salon visits are part of the deal. The good thing about this hairstyle is that it is quick to style, just two minutes of tussling will do.

#45 Auburn Pixie with Textured Layers and Lots of Personality
It’s the energy of this style that truly made an impression on me. The warm vibrancy of the auburn color combined with the layers creates movement and liveliness, even when sitting still! Short textured layers are definitely the answer if you require more body and fullness to your fine hair. They elevate the hair so that it does not sit flat. The volume on top also contributes to a modern look and creates a point of difference from just another short haircut. To keep the definition in the layers, a trim is recommended. For the best piece-y look, a texture clay or paste is a must. The color is extremely flattering against the skin, especially on oval and heart shapes. The short layers are a perfect frame for the face.

#46 Sunkissed Auburn Lob with Easy, Pretty Waves
What really catches the eye is the brilliant gradient from dark at the roots to the warm, sun-kissed auburn at the tips. It looks like a set of natural highlights! Not only does this hue look youthful and fun, it also isn’t too much when paired with warm tones for more mature women. Soft waves add texture and volume to the hair, and the length of the lob is really flattering on every face shape. However, if you have really fine hair that doesn’t hold waves well, you may run into some problems achieving this look. Light layering by your stylist can make a difference though. Overall, this cut is super practical and easy to wear with a lot of versatility, and it keeps its shape really well through out the day. The lob hairstyle is also the perfect compromise between a bob and longer hair.

#47 Rich Chestnut Bob with Soft Textured Layers
The chestnut tone on this piece is a fantastic choice! It’s such a rich and warm color that it’s gonna elevate your skin tone and you won’t have to think about it. The soft texturizing keeps the weight of the hair light, and adds movement that is natural and perfect for anyone with medium to thin density hair. The soft face-framing layers that are gentle and flattering for oval and heart shape faces. This style is polished without being high maintenance. The color will need to be touched up to keep it looking good, deep, and even for the depth of the color, so keep that in mind for salon trips every 6 weeks.

#48 Copper-Toned Bob with Side-Swept Bangs That Lift Everything
It is great to see the rise in popularity of the shade, as copper tones compliment mature skin beautifully. Copper is such a great lifting color! The eye softening effect of the side swept bangs is great, particularly with more angular jawlines. The textured layers prevent everything from looking stale because they create movement, and contribute to a polished, but not stiff, overall look. Regular salon visits will be required to keep the color looking good as copper fades fast, and color safe shampoo will be a necessity. A hair volumizer will do the trick, and is great for hair that is medium dense. Overall a little styling is required.

#49 Chestnut Asymmetrical Bob That Knows What It’s Doing
Chestnut colors are very warm and inviting. The layers will provide a soft finish along with the gentle tapering. With medium density hair the cut will sit beautifully and framing the face will give height to the face. It will look incredibly well done. The longer side will provide a gentle and beautiful face framing effect. The shorter side will keep things fun and modern. Ash brown hues will add motivation to keep asymmetrical hair cuts. It can be very chic, and it will draw a lot of attention and require confidence to pull off. Personally I think that the hair style will suit people with a lot of confidence. People will need to be at ease with drawing attention to themselves. One potential downside to this kind of haircut is that they grow out quite fast. When one side begins to catch up with the other asymmetrical side, the whole side may shift and lose the intended look. If someone loves the haircut, regular appointments may be needed.

#50 Classic Ebony Bob with Full, Committed Bangs
Getting full straight bangs is a commitment, and I have to show her a lot of respect. This bob combines bangs with a chin-length cut that has a rich, uniform ebony color, which in this case is a quietly striking, polished, and put-together sort of way. Bangs also do an amazing job of framing heart-shaped faces as they help balance out the narrowing chins. The texture provides an extra refined touch to the bangs which also require little effort to maintain. The healthier and denser the hair is, the less product is needed to maintain the look. Bangs unfortunately grow out quickly and that perfect straight-across bag trim is needed every 2-3 weeks to maintain that perfect line on the lower end of the bangs. So if you’re not someone who is a fan of the frequent trim outs, you can definitely opt for a longer fringe and avoid looking too basic. However, if you’re on board with it, this look is classic and can always be considered polished and deliberate.
