The last time a woman sat in my chair and said she was thinking of getting a choppy pixie cut, I could have sworn she was going to break her phone. She had been thinking about it for two years! Two years of grow outs, two years of cuts back to a bob, grow outs again, and still she couldn’t take the leap. When I finally took her past the point of no return, about three inches, she started laughing. Not a nervous laugh, the real deal. She said she couldn’t believe how long she waited to feel that amazing.
As the saying goes, you don’t get a choppy pixie cut after 50 to look younger, and it’s likely to not be a whim either. Most likely, it is a choppy pixie cut because you have endured a lengthy cycle of haircuts. You’ve done the long layers, the shoulder length thing, maybe some version of a bob. Then, one day, it almost feels like it all belongs to someone else. A choppy pixie cut gets rid of everything that’s not working and leaves you things that really matter; your eyes, and your face structure. It also leaves you with the way your face looks when you talk. It’s texture and choppiness also keep it from being too extreme. That’s the main fear I hear the most often. Nobody wants to feel like they joined the army. However, a choppily cut pixie with a lot of movement is not extreme. It is playful, and maybe a little more undone, and it gets better the less you do to it. That’s not something I can say about most haircuts.

#1: Feathered Ashy Mint Pixie with Tapered Nape
Sleek mint hair dye is perfect for anyone wanting a color that blends with their natural hair color. Unlike other hair colors, eventually growing out to show roots isn’t an issue as roots will blend in with the mint color. On top of that, mint hair is paired well with other hair colors. The mint hair look is complemented by a cut of just over an inch on top, light bangs, and tapered feathered sideburns. This will help to showcase your entire face and make your blue and green eyes pop with amazing brightness. The only downside is the upkeep that comes with it. One of the worst issues with mint hair is that it requires a lot of bleach to get the desired base color. You will definitely want to invest in a bond builder since the bleaching process can seriously damage your hair. If the dye is done well, you’ll likely want to get it toned more often than you may want to hear. Additionally, mint hair dye fades faster than most colors making maintenance more frequent.

#2 Pastel Rose-Gold Piecey Pixie with Asymmetrical Fringe
If I had to choose the most striking asymmetry, it would be the one with the shortest sides and a longer (maybe 1 to 3 inches) sweep on the left that ends just under the chin in a soft rose-gold color. It’s the kind of cut where you can tell the stylist really thought about the placement of the weight and where the lightness is needed. This will be stunning on an oval or heart-shaped face; the fringe is a diagonal that draws the eye and the cropped sides keep everything modern. One of those details that elevates a good pixie to a great one is how the stylist took a little crown cowlick and turned it into an advantage by using it for natural lift instead of fighting it. Pre-lightening and regular toning will be needed to keep the soft rose-gold in that sweet spot. Just keep in mind that the short sides will fully expose your ears, so if that bugs you, just know it going in.

#3 Plum Piecey Pixie with Feathered Crown and Graduated Nape
The graduation at the nape softens the look of the neck while still giving the illusion of some length. In that crown section, there is a beautiful feathery lifted look where the layers are moving freely. There is a delicate side-swept micro-fringe that helps soften the look around the face. The plum colour is a lovely shade for this age as it is warm enough to keep the skin looking alive but deep enough to feel sophisticated. Razor texturizing creates the gorgeously piecey look, despite the fact that it actually does take some effort. Most mornings will just require some texture product to achieve that piecey effect and the plum will need a refresh as the semi-permanent fashion shades don’t last.

#4 Short Choppy Pixie with Long Side-Swept Fringe
This fringe is doing the majority of the styling for this look. Its length of it, combined with the razor texture, means it will fall like individual pieces, and not one solid block. It sweeps back nicely, and it is flattering, eye framing, and does not look overdone. The nape is graduated, and the sideburns/panel areas are cut a lot closer, so you get that really nice clean intentional shape from all the way around. The dark color is gorgeous, but to be honest, it will show regrowth lines much faster than a lighter color, which means more frequent root touch ups. The fringe will also need some work every morning. A quick finger comb is required, and it may need a flat iron to get it to the right place. However, given how good it looks from the front, a lot of people think it’s worth it.

#5 Icy Periwinkle Feathered Micro Pixie with Wispy Micro-Fringe
This cut’s color and shape creates a stunning effect on people. Periwinkle color will brighten up any face and eyes as it sits in an icy blue-violet range. Not to mention the micro-pixie shape means little competing hair, if any. Everything near the head is feathered, and the crown is finished with a fringe that barely touches the forehead. Point cutting on the layers has not created a blunt cut, but rather a soft one. The tapered nape completes it all nicely. This is the blue-violet demi-glaze situation, so it’s semi-permanent, meaning it will fade and fade. COLOR SHIFT BETWEEN APPOINTMENTS is expected. The feathered finish needs styling every day and that really means just two minutes to toss it and put some product. Avoid coarse hair because the feathering will likely create more clumping rather than complement thick texture.

#6 Feathered Chalk-White Pixie with Wispy Crown Lift
What I notice the most is how the white color draws my attention depending on which people it’s with. The nape fringe is short with a wispy side and a piecey crown that has real volume to it. There is a subtle left cowlick that is being booster for that elevation and it is smart to go with what the hair naturally wants to do rather than against it. The silver root-smudge adds just enough depth to avoid a flat and wiggy look at the base which is a risk with all-over white. The ends look soft, and you will want a daily texturizer and a toning to keep it from drifting warm, but the actual time for styling is minimal.

#7 Feathered Copper Micro-Pixie with Tousled Crown
The warmer copper color rather than straight up and down feels more inviting, and the sides taper to about ear length, the nape is tapered, and all the detail is at the crown where heavy texturising is done to achieve the look of tousled but not messy lift and separates. Warm copper color with some peachy micro-highlights gives dimension, and there is a root smudge underneath that keeps the grow out from looking harsh. Required is a matte paste and good product to keep that separated distinction because it does have to have that texture. Avoid heavy conditioners because they will weigh down all the loose texture you are trying to maintain. Expect faded and shifting color copper for the refresh along with scheduled color appointments and targeted ones between full appointments because the copper color will shift and fade over time.

#8 Fiery Cherry Choppy Pixie with Stacked Tapered Nape
No matter how many touch-ups you make, this style gives you a chic finish on the nape and an elegant finish all day. With a gentle wispy micro fringe that lifts and a length of 1-2 inches on top, this style is great. The texture is cut throughout the style, giving fine hair the appearance of double density. The color cherry comes with some shadow gloss tinted roots in addition to lighter slices in the front. It’s especially great to highlight the color around the face. Because vivid red is such a high-maintenance color, it will require glazing often to keep it looking rich. A paste will define the texture well. The length will mean you also can’ t pull your hair back or pin it up.

#9 Feathered Platinum Pixie with Side-Swept Micro Fringe
I admire how the root shadow has been done. There is a soft blend line which assists when your natural color grows in. This appears more intentional than neglected. This can give you a few extra weeks until your next appointment. In the cut, the crown length is adjusted to about 1-2 inches with the longer side-swept fringe perhaps 2-3 inches. The graduated nape offers a nice clean finish at the back. The razor point cutting provides a nice airy and piecey texture. To avoid the platinum getting brassy, you would have to apply a daily texturizing product, as well as some purple glossing every now and then. This is not the right cut for extremely coarse or curly hair because the feathered texture lies best when the hair is lying relatively flat.

#10 Razor-Textured Berry Pixie with Wispy Micro Fringe
Berry is one of those shades that I am liking customers want a little bolder color without the costume effect. This one is in a deeper, more saturated range that is more sophisticated, and with demi-permanent application, it means that it fades gradually, rather than in one go. The cut is very short with a wisp micro fringe and some longer pieces towards the crown for lift and point cut layers with a tapered nape give it structure, but without the stiff look. Subtle lowlights through the interior add depth so the berry doesn’t look flat. A styling paste or salt spray would be best to keep that jagged texture alive between washes. Bright colors mean periodic refreshes and this particular shape does not lend itself to tight curl patterns very well.

#11 Short Teal Textured Pixie with Wispy Fringe and Tapered Sides
My favorite colors for this look are teal over a salt-and-pepper base. This is because natural silver hair will catch the color differently compared to fully pigmented strands. There is really stunning variation that is almost impossible to achieve on purpose. Because no two sections look the same, the hand-painted balayage technique really gives the hair a natural look. The haircut features 1-2 inches of length taken off the top, with chop point-cut layers, a wispy micro fringe, and slightly tapered sides that can be tucked behind the ears. The micro-barbers perimeter at the ears is a nice finishing touch that emphasizes the clean tuck behind the ear look. This will give a polished look. This will also require full pre-lightening so that the teal can show properly, and as such will need a lot of upkeep. If you have a very thin crown area, some internal graduation or a texturizing powder would help maintain lift up top.

#12 Icy White Spiky Pixie with Feathered Crown
This style focuses on diagonal layers across the entire crown. There’s a slight cowlick that would typically cause spikes to stick up in different directions, but the layers are cut so that everything is directed and purposeful. The final result appears very intentional, especially with the great height and long feathers spikes. The crown length is very short, about one to two inches, and the nape is tapered with micro bangs that fully open up the face. Icy white looks really stunning on pale skin and blue eyes. For those who are dealing with thinning hair, the heavy texturing will create a very beneficial illusion of fullness. You’ll need a cool toner regularly to prevent your white hair from turning yellow and a paste in the morning to keep the spikes. This will keep your total styling time down to about three minutes, which is great.

#13 Cropped Copper Textured Pixie with Feathered Crown and Piecey Bangs
There are a variety of techniques showcased in this cut. To begin with, there are separated spikes which demonstrate the use of point cutting, micro bangs which illustrate razor texturizing, and a tapered nape which balances the volume created on top. The sides are short but the top is about two to three inches long and is a vibrant copper that illuminates the face. The feathered top section creates distinct spikes, which changes the way they reflect light depending on how they are arranged. Overall, this style is quite short, very interesting, and has a lot of visual depth. In terms of how quickly it shifts, the copper color will require frequent touch up to keep it looking good. Finally, paste or wax will be needed to achieve that ‘lived in’ piecey finish.

#14 Copper Choppy Pixie with Tousled Crown and Tapered Nape
The stylist is smart to choose a cowlick as some of the volume at the front, instead of cutting against it, and making sure she uses the growth pattern for some lift, resulting in volume already made. Top length of one to two inches with some texture, then point cut fringe, thin razored ends, and a softly tapered nape with some stacking to it. This suits fine to medium hair with a little wave as it provides movement without having to do anything. Most days, just a combo of light styling paste and some finger-blow drying will do. That copper will need regular glossing, though, or it will fade to muddy. Not a big deal; quick appointment.

#15 Soft Pastel Pink Cropped Pixie with Feathered Texture
The undertones of pastel pink can make it look great or make it look like a costume. This one keeps it from looking disconnected from the rest of the person because there’s a shadow at the temples that is darker, so the pink has some grounding. The hairstyle is a cut that is about one or two inches, with a longer feathered crown and micro-fringe. The color-breathing separation is from a tapered nape and point-cut texturing. This look will require a full lift to a very pale blonde, and a bond builder will be an absolute must. Pastel pink fades very quickly, so color safe shampoo is very important, as is low styling. For this look, you will only need a bit of matte paste and some fingers.

#16 Pastel Lilac Choppy Cropped Pixie with Micro-Fringe and Root Shadow
Lilac on a silver base is one of the most beautiful color combinations out there, and this example shows why. The silver base gives the lilac an almost holographic look that sheer blonde below does not capture. Very short and choppy, about 1-2 inches on top, with a tapered nape and piecey micro-fringe that suits a heart face. The point cutting and razor texturizing gives that airy separated look where each segment can move freely. Overall, this look is very modern and bright and requires minimal styling time. The reality check is getting there will require strong pre-lightening and good bond-building care, and pastel lilac fades very fast. So, frequent toning will definitely be part of the deal. Also, if you have finer hair, you may want to leave more length on top than is shown to avoid sparse scalp visibility.

#17 Chic Short Textured Pixie with Tapered Nape and Micro Fringe
This cut has lowlights placed in an impactful way. The way the lowlights are angled towards the bangs, they serve to conceal any grays at the temples. They also add some dimension and reflection of light to the cut so it does not look flat. This is a short cut with only 1-2 inches on top, a micro fringe, and stacking and tapering at the nape. Point cutting was done throughout to separate the hair and create some crown lift, so there is less volume and more control. This is stunning on someone with an oval face shape. This cut will expose the nape and ears, so if there are any sparse areas, they may be on display. Texturizing paste and sharp cutting will be needed to maintain the style. It looks best just after the cut.

#18 Cropped Platinum Pixie with Feathered Crown and Micro Fringe
The cut sits above the ears with some razor-thinned, feathered layers at the crown and a soft micro fringe. There are bet ends and tapered nape that create a nice separation. Purple shampoo will also be needed to maintain the colour along with a texturising product to create that bed-head look. Platinum on mature skin has this brightening effect that’s hard to achieve in any other way. It’s not the best case with very tight curls as the feathering depends on the hair lying in a particular way.

#19 Spiky Copper Pixie with Chiseled Fringe and Tapered Nape
This style features a spiked top and chiseled bangs that are edgy and really show confidence. There are 2-3 inches of hair at the top, short sides, and a tapered back (or nape). The razor sharp spiking creates good definition, and the point cut bangs frame the face nicely. The copper tone with a slight shadow at the roots gives the look some nice depth, especially since it isn’t too blended. It also complements oval and heart shaped faces, and it works well with fine/medium hair that is either straight, slightly wavy, or a little bit of both. The good news is that there won’t be a lot of upkeep for this style, but color change is expected because copper tints are always shifting. You will crucially need a styling putty for all those spiky clumps of hair. Also, this is going to take a considerable amount of time to style because it is not a wash-and-go style.

#20 Short Spiky Micro-Fringe Pixie with Tapered Nape
Being short, clean, and spiky is definitely something to be proud of. The micro fringe on this just touches the forehead and opens up the face, especially good for an oval face. The piecey tips that look just a little rebellious are a result of some point cutting and diagonal slicing. Here, a subtle cowlick is being directed, rather than fought. This hairstyle offers instant lift, a youthful edge, and it dries faster than you can make your coffee. The downside, however, is that this look requires daily use of paste for definition. It also requires regular appointments to keep the texturing sharp and to avoid harsh regrowth lines as it grows out.

#21 Piecey Auburn Pixie with Face-Framing Feathering and Tapered Nape
What I love about this style the most has got to be the face-framing layering. It feels very classy to have the sides puff up around the cheeks. With these micro layers on the top, it gives a nice natural uplift, and the tapered nape does a nice clean finish in the back. Auburn is another very flattering universally color, as it matches a lot of different skin tones. With enough warmth, it livens up the look without going over to the ‘look-at-me’ side. The cut disguises mild crown thinning well because that layering creates the texture where it is most needed. Copper tones do very much need color care and a light texturing paste will be required, but this is one of the genuinely lower-maintenance options in the collection. It is not the best choice for very thick or coarse hair as the feathering loses that delicate touch.

#22 Piecey Dark Pixie with Micro-Bangs and Graduated Nape
Micro-bangs are a chop that can be favorable and unfavorable. They can make some people look younger and some people look older by drawing attention to forehead lines. However, on this oval to heart shape face, they look really good! They sit right above the brow which creates a nice eye frame. The sides are ear length with a cropped graduated nape and some razor point cutting, so the hair looks really separated. Uplift is amazing and I love that natural crown cowlicks are being used here. The darker dye is going to show regrowth pretty quick, so budget for that. If you want to avoid having a flat look, you need to add product to the piecey top – a densifying mousse and your fingers should do the trick. Otherwise, it can go really flat during the day.

#23 Wine-Burgundy Choppy Pixie with Tousled Fringe
Burgundy is one of the colors that goes well with most styles and on a rough chopped pixie such as this, it looks incredible. Typically, short pixie haircuts at the nape are 2-3 inches at the top with a tapered nape at the back and a piecey fringe on the side. Interior layering on pixies is done with a technique called sliding, which helps to give the hair an airy feeling that you can’t get with just plain razor cutting. The demi-gloss and root smudge helps to create depth and also helps to cover gray hairs without looking like that’s what they are intended to do, which is great. This look works best on medium to thick hair because the choppy layers will remove mass and give it a place to go. A texturizing paste will work wonders for that separated look , and regular glossing will be required to maintain the rich color and keep that deeper gloss effect looking as good as it does.

#24 Fiery Ginger Spiky Choppy Pixie with Tapered Nape
The cut has a little soft lift from a small crown cowlick that the stylist cut right into it, and that’s a good thing. There are really short and choppy point cut layers with a tapered nape and a piecey side fringe. This works best on straight and fine to medium hair as it lets the spikes form without being weighed down. The warm copper glaze with a root-smudge gives the dimensional depth that stops the colour from looking flat. Bright copper will need regular glossing as it fades fast, that’s just the reality of the pigment. You’ll also have to live with daily styling to get the spiky cut defined, which will mean paste or sea-salt spray. It will also mean glossing to keep the cut looking fresh.

#25 Silver Ash Pixie with Wispy Asymmetric Fringe
An asymmetric fringe gives movement that a symmetrical cut at this length can’t achieve. It’s super short with a wispy fringe longer on one side and with a softly tapered nape. Razor point cutting on top and feathered blends on the sides provide lift without bulk, which is the goal on fine hair at this length. The cool silver-ash with a hint of lilac gloss is bright and very flattering against the skin tone. At the temples, there’s a micro taper that softens the hairline, which is a small detail that makes a big difference. Fine hair can show the scalp at this length, so that is something to consider, and ash toners do need to be refreshed regularly.

#26 Choppy Textured Pixie with Face-Framing Layers
This hairstyle sits above the jawline and has the ease of a pixie while still offering enough length to do playful styles. The layers are cut to create a natural frame, avoiding a geometric look. The waves add relaxed movement which is always a good thing. The subtle highlights, in combination with the texture of the hair, add dimension to what would otherwise look like a solid color. For this style, the ideal hair type is medium density and naturally wavy. This shape offers natural volume without the need for any built. Keeping that chopped look does take some effort, but even a quick scrunch and go is rewarding with this type of cut.

#27 Textured Silver Pixie Cut with Feathered Layers
The crown feathers are extremely pretty and provide a sense of lightness to the head. Although it is a full embrace of silver, it feels youthful. Personally, I think the hair looks nice because there is no attempt to fight the hair’s natural movement. The layering helps fine to medium density hair to avoid lying flat against the head, and the overall shape is soft and clean but not overly rigid. The hair can look a bit monochrome due to the natural, silver tones, however, the feathered texture gives it enough shadow and light variation to keep it looking interesting. In the grand scheme of things, low maintenance is a good description of the look. Though, to maintain the lightness at the crown of the head, you will need to keep up with regular trims.

#28 Textured Short Pixie Cut with Soft Bangs
A pixie cut with bangs creates a whole new look! A pixie cut is quite a bold and edgy style, but adding bangs takes it in a more soft and friendly direction. Plus, bangs give you the choice of how much forehead you want to show each day! The cut shown consists of shorter sides and back and longer layers on top for added volume. These layers can also give the appearance of fullness for those with fine to medium hair. Soft bangs are great for more angular features as they soften just enough. The biggest commitment with this haircut will be regular trims as the shape will change as it grows out. Other than that, styling is a breeze!

#29 Chic Textured Pixie Cut with Effortless Layers
The side-swept bangs soften individual features and focus more attention on the eyes and cheekbones. The ashy blonde color is modern and warm enough that it doesn’t feel too cool. The neat taper at the back suggests a customer with a very good stylist. The volume is good due to the extra weight caused by layers in the crown. Because the back toward the end of the cut will lose that clean look, this style will require regular maintenance, but minimal effort is needed.

#30 Textured Silver Pixie with Voluminous Layers
I love how someone can go all in with silver and texture and not just feel like it’s passive. The layers create movement in all the fine hair that would have just been there and the feathered ends add some playfulness to the hair so that it doesn’t feel too serious. It especially emphasizes the cheekbones of an oval or heart-shaped face, and that’s exactly where you want to focus the attention. The haircut needs a bit of maintenance though as it can get a bit too defined once the layers are spaced out a lot. However, with a fresh cut, it feels lovely to have that weightlessness to the hair.

#31 Choppy Asymmetrical Pixie Cut with Textured Layers
The shorter back creates a unique style while longer sections at the front instill a flattering diagonal line for more [{angles}]{more_angular_faces} shaped faces. The hair also has visual impact from all angles. The layered texture creates movement and the illusion of volume to fine hair. The shine shows the health of the hair which is more important as you age. Damaged hair at this length has nowhere to hide. For some added definition to the style, a lightweight cream or a paste would do the job and will require minimal maintenance.

#32 Textured Blonde Pixie Cut with Effortless Movement
The crown features subtle layering that helps with height for short styles and makes them feel better in reality and in photos when you catch a glimpse of yourself. The tousled texture gives an appearance of having just gotten up, but in a good way. It looks like you put some effort and a bit of product into it. The fine hair density also works in your favour as the cut looks light and airy instead of heavy. It is ideal for oval and heart shapes and the soft blonde looks warm and inviting. The product required to achieve that effortless look is the irony of hair that looks casual is that it needs some care and styling but we’re talking a minimal amount of product and two minutes to style it.

#33 Modern Choppy Pixie Cut with Textured Layers
The hair’s natural wavy texture creates movement that would need product to achieve on a straight-haired version of this same cut. It’s cut above the ears with soft layers at the crown that add height, which is particularly nice for round or oval faces. It’s easy to style but there is that balance you have to strike with short textured cuts where you want it to look tousled and deliberate, not neglected. A quick refresh in the morning with damp fingers and a touch of product keeps it in that sweet spot.

#34 Choppy Textured Pixie Cut with Subtle Highlights
The highlights add warmth without being too showy. The choppy layers add volume while the texture gives visual density where there may not be much actual density. For finer hair, there may not be much actual density. For coarser hair, the same choppy layers reduce bulk and make it much more manageable. The soft edges create a feminine touch that offsets how bold the cut is. A light styling product is the best, nothing too heavy, just something to give the layers grip and separation.

#35 Soft Lavender Choppy Pixie with Textured Layers
I love the ethereal quality of lavender. The color fetches the face and is great without being warm. The many layers create movement in fine hair. It is a good frame for oval and round face shapes. The soft detail of the layering around the ears is a nice touch that stops the cut from looking too harsh. You can’t be too committed. Lavender fades and can get brassy. You need a color-safe shampoo to avoid this and a lightweight styling product to add texture.

#36 Choppy Silver Pixie Cut with Textured Layers
A choppy silver texture gives the hairstyle an effortless cool. The cut feels playfully cool. The cut is playful while being structured and balanced. Added layers create volume and movement. This level draws attention to your face, as opposed to longer styles which lose face visibility. The crown has lifts because of the layers giving height without teasing or backcombing. It adds to the shape without any effort. Styling with products is a breeze, and daily maintenance is minimum.

#37 Textured Choppy Pixie with Soft Volume
The unique volume this style has that fine hair is usually unable to achieve allows for a softer layered look. The layers throughout this cut give the illusion to others that a person has a dense hairstyle, but really it’s a less dense cut. This is the beauty of a choppy pixie cut – the ability to create the illusion of a fuller hair. The shorter hair will bring attention to the face while the textured finishing adds a contemporary feel. Fine hair also loses its volume quickly meaning you may find yourself restyling your hair more than those with thicker hair types. This is especially true for hair with a finer texture as the hair may become limp and lose its volume as the day goes on. The good news is that a bit of product usually does the trick to bring the volume back.

#38 Modern Choppy Pixie Cut with Soft Volume
The crown on this cut adds height and dimension. It feels more natural than artificial. Soft layers create movement and frame the face. This is especially nice on oval or heart-shaped faces. For fine to medium density, this cut works to the advantage because it keeps the layers light and movable. It is a low maintenance style in terms of daily effort, but shorter hair does tend to grow out faster in terms of losing its shape. So more frequent trims come with the style. The trade-off is that between those trims, you are not spending much time on your hair in the morning.

#39 Choppy Textured Pixie Cut with Light Layers
This style is super easy to wear thanks to the soft bangs that add a youthful touch and can take years off your face. Light layers throughout create movement and dimension, while the shorter length keeps the hair framing the face beautifully and is particularly good for oval and heart shaped faces. Possibly the biggest selling point for this style is how little styling it needs. Just some texturizing product through the layers is all you need to do to be out the door. This style works best with fine to medium density hair as this allows the layers to shift. Your biggest commitment will be maintaining the shape with regular trims, but you can expect to spend much less time on appointments as this style is low maintenance.

#40 Choppy Textured Pixie Cut with Effortless Movement
An energetic haircut that feels good to move in, and with each head tilt, the layers will move and catch the light differently. The shorter length will make styling easy too! The gray tones that run throughout create dimension that solid colors won’t give, and with fine to medium density, the layers will really elevate the cut. In thick hair, the layers will create an airy feel that will be lost, but you won’t need too much product to enhance the texture. Good hair days make the rules on this one!

#41 Choppy Pixie Cut with Soft Layered Texture
This is one of those styles that look like no effort went into it, which usually means the stylist is very skilled. This cut offers a nice movement to fine to medium hair without overdoing it. The overall shape is flattering on oval and heart faces, and doesn’t feel like it’s trying to be anything other than a great short haircut. It’s practical because it’s low-maintenance, although if your hair grows quickly you may end up coming back for trims sooner than expected, as the shape will soften after a few weeks.

#42 Choppy Blush Pixie Cut with Textured Layers
What makes this one special is the blush tone, which feels warm and feminine, and is different enough from traditional blonde or pink to feel unique. It is shorter on the sides and back, with longer, wispy layers on top, framing the face. The texture looks best with added mousse to give it more body. The ideal density for this shape is fine to medium. Shorter styles do tend to require more regular trips to the salon, as even small amounts of growth can change the proportions, but if you love the color and shape, those visits feel more like a pleasure than a chore.

#43 Choppy Textured Pixie Cut with Soft Volume
This cut offers soft volume and framing of the face without going overboard. The layers provide a modern, fun texture and with the short length, the hair does the talking. This playful texture also works best with fine and medium hair with a touch of product bring out the desired volume and texture. A side or back combed look will help deliberate the style; on oval or heart-shaped faces, it really showcases those cheekbones. All in all, this cut is super lived in and gets better as you figure out how little you need to do to get it right.

#44 Bold Choppy Pixie Cut with Textured Layers
At this length, lighter shades can achieve. The layers give movement and dimension, and the fine density is counteracted well by the choppy cutting technique which gives a more fuller look to the style. The length being short helps balance everything out and makes it feel intentional, and is versatile over a range of different face shapes and skin tones. To keep this look, regular trims will be needed as layers will grow out at different rates, but that is a small price to pay for how polished and put together this is on a daily basis.

#45 Textured Platinum Pixie Cut with Soft Layers
The process of choosing platinum can be either scary or exciting. If you are feeling excited, this is a really good option. The soft layers, especially in the front, give a fantastic framing effect, and the fine density combined with a soft wave gives a naturally volumized appearance without the use of any styling products. The ashy tone is super modern and current. Lighter shades always require more upkeep than darker shades, and you will need a toner to prevent warm colors from showing. On an oval or heart shaped face, this look is definetly worth the upkeep!

#46 Textured Silver Pixie Cut with Playful Layers
The longer top layers that shift separately from the shorter sides and back are what gives this cut its playfulness. Silver at this length feels intentional and modern. Fine density adds to the light and airy feel of the cut, keeping it a little more light and airy. The silver construction captures light at various angles, providing more visual complexity than one might expect from a single color. Oval and heart-shaped faces are especially served here. Regular styling is a part of it; those layers require some styling to remain defined, but it’s pretty easy.

#47 Textured Platinum Pixie with Playful Layers
This particular style is enjoyable and nice due to the light and feathery layers that are so light they move when you turn your head. This gives the cut a lively look that is much better than a blunt cut. It is also brighter because of the platinum color which makes the individual layers pop and show off the cut. This cut works best for fine to medium hair because this helps the layers to stay separate and look good. If your hair gets flat easily, a volumizing product may be needed to keep the layers lifted during the day, but the good news is that the styling time will be short. This cut gives off an appearance of a lot of effort while in reality, putting effort into it is not the case.

#48 Playful Choppy Pixie with Subtle Rose Tones
Rose tones are always inviting, with a glow like gentle sunshine on the face. The short layers add volume and movement which harmonize with the heart-shaped face, softening the broader forehead and centre focus mid face. With medium density, it will look full but not heavy. This style is low maintenance but regular trims will keep it fresh. I think the way light catches the various layers is pleasing, and gives the cut a liveliness which is something you don’t always get with short hair.

#49 Vibrant Choppy Pixie Cut with Soft Layers
The layered hair style and the new wardrobe can compliment the new copper hair color very nicely since it is a warm color. The toned down layers will allow for more extensibility and easy styling. The layers should be cut just above the ear so that the hair can be kept in the tucked position with some shape. This style with soft layers is ideal for all oval and heart shapes faces as it imparts the desired width in the required areas and reduces the fullness in the undesirable zones This rich colour of copper will make a more relaxed version of the cut thoughtful. It will be necessary to use some product in case your hair is fine to medium density to keep the layers in the desired position.

#50 Choppy Curly Pixie Cut with Soft Volume
I really wish more consideration was given to curly pixie haircuts. The texture really creates volume, movement, and interest to the hair without any products or styling. This is soft, defined curls with a slight asymmetrical shape and works with oval and heart face shapes. The length is great since it sits just above the ears and creates a balanced spring with no risk of going overly voluminous. A medium to thick density is ideal since there has to be enough mass in the curls to hold shape. If you have a thinner top, the curls can become overly spaced and lose that soft fullness that is extremely desirable. If you have natural curls and have been holding onto length, it’s a perfect way to let it go and let your hair do its thing.
