21 Yummiest Strawberry Blonde Hair Colors to Try Today

Strawberry blonde hair colors

Craving for the ultra popular strawberry blonde hair? Are you torn between being a blonde or being a redhead? You don’t have to choose! Get inspired by these popular strawberry blonde colors where you’ll see hues of blonde, auburn, rose gold and copper that create amazing effects.

What is awesome about strawberry blonde hair is the variety of shades that can be combined and the intensities of each tone can make a huge difference. For example, increasing the rosy red color and enriching the goldern color can fuse into an amazing rose gold hair color. This is why light golden, honey, and champagne hair colors are extremely popular. Ombre, highlights, and red undertones are also excellent choices in strawberry blonde hair color combinations.

Strawberry blonde hair done in ombre is superbly popular because of the perfect combination of colors. Here it goes from dark red at the roods to golden blonde at the ends. We’re digging these red hues painted over golden waves and so should you! Keep it shoulder-length for more versatile and easy styling. You have to love the nice blend of strawberry red and gold in the middle section of the hair.

Wavy Strawberry Hair

These lived-in medium length waves are made perfect with a red inspired hue and pale skin. What is great about combining wavy hair with strawberry blonde color is color changes that are visible through movement of the hair. One trick is to make one shade richer in color to bring it out more which makes it look like an ocean wave of strawberry blonde hair.

How would you describe this look?

To me this look makes me think of the end of summer/beginning of fall. Perfect for autumn or anyone looking to change up their color without going out of their comfort zone! The best thing about this particular strawberry color is that it has a bit of a peachy tone to it as well, and it’s also one of those colors that can still pass as “natural” when having certain dress codes to follow.

Any advice for someone considering it?

Some things I would recommend is your upkeep. How often are you planning on coming in to maintain this look? Coloring your natural root area will result in a harsh line when it grows out, and your ends will need to be refreshed every so often as well. I normally recommend 6-8 weeks with this particular kind of color!

How would you describe this look?

This warm strawberry blonde is vibrant without screaming over-the-top! I love that this color can be achieved fairly easily on light hair and make a great temporary change for blondes looking for something different for a month or so.

Any advice for someone considering it?

This color looks stunning on ladies with fair skin tones. Try asking your stylist for a bright copper base with subtle golden babylights. Make sure to use a “demi-permanent” color like Redken Shades EQ Gloss! It will give the hair a ton of shine and softness and fade out gracefully in a few weeks when you are ready to change the color again!

How would you describe this look?

This is a multi-toned copper balayage with a layered, long angled bob. I love the seamless finish of a reddish color like this. This is a mix of three different reds and that dimension is what makes the color mimic a natural red.

The hair can be worn straight or curly and anywhere in between. For the hair pictured here I used a curling iron and pulled it down as I did each section of hair to make the curl look effortless and long.

Any advice for someone considering doing their hair this way?

This color is great for someone with a skin tone that could pair with natural strawberry blonde hair. I find that these coppers look great on natural blondes, redheads, and light brown hair.

This color is also wonderful for redheads that are losing their vibrancy over time. This color combo can brighten the hair in a very natural looking way with no unsightly grow out.

This cut is great for someone who loves to wear their hair down and style it in an array of ways. This cut is also great for thick hair because the layers thin it and additional texturizing gives it stylish shape.

How would you describe this look?

This is as a blonde perlé. I totally love the holographic effect of the strawberry blonde hair color in pixie haircuts!

Any advice for someone considering doing their hair this way?

I always advise my customers to put on their make up in order to strengthen the image that the “strawberry blonde” style gives.

Obviously, consistent use of hair care products is a must for colored hair for it to glow like it did on day one. Blonde and red tones can get brassy and lose their color without proper care.

For me, every woman embedded in a more pinky, red, funk lifestyle is capable of supporting such an eccentric but, at the same time, chic color option.

Every woman can wear a unique pixie haircut that suits her personality. She just has to discover it and point it out! After all, everything starts with our inner self!

How would you describe this look?

This is a multi-tonal red with soft coppers running through with a textured finish, using the Cloud9 curling wand and finishing the look with Philip Kingsley’s Instant Beach Spray. Using this technique with different tones in the correct places gives the hair more dimension and instant texture while also making the hair look a lot thicker.

Any advice for someone considering doing their hair this way?

If you are thinking of having your hair red or copper tones this summer, consider that it is high maintenance, as red can fade pretty quickly, especially if the sun decides to make an appearance again!

Use a salon professional color safe shampoo & conditioner that suits your hair type best to preserve your strawberry blonde hair. If their hair is lacking moisture but is fine like my client in this picture, I would advise using Philip Kingsley’s moisture balancing as it is weightless, not too heavy on the hair, and will help maintain the gloss.

Natural Golden Blonde Hair

Hairstylist @ The Plaza Salon in Orange, CA

How would you describe this look and what is your favorite thing about it?

This look is a simple long bob haircut with minimal layers. It’s great for all hair types and is pretty low maintenance. I recommend coming in every eight weeks to maintain the cut and six weeks for the color. I love the versatility that this cut gives you. The strawberry blonde hair looks great straight, curly/wavy, or even pulled back into a loose style.

What products do you recommend to create and maintain this look?

I used a medium barrel curling iron for styling. The products I used to achieve this look were Damage Control (heat protectant), Smooth Infusion Style Prep (humidity defense and shine), and Air Control Hair Spray (light hold). These are all Aveda products.

What type of client would you recommend this look to?

My client’s blonde hair color is her natural color. It’s a beautiful shade for most skin types. In a nutshell, this is a beautiful low maintenance color and cut for all hair types.

How would you describe this look and what is your favorite thing about it?

This is a golden hue copper base with a brighter strawberry blonde in the lowlights. The balayage strawberry blonde highlights for the blonde are concentrated around her face and the top. For the haircut, I used my feather razor to give her long bob with some movement. Highlights are a great way to infuse light red into any blonde shade.

What products do you recommend to create and maintain this look?

For styling these messy beach waves, I used R+Co’s Grid to protect against heat and help hold the style. I also used a spray of R+Co’s Foil for added shine and protection against humidity. I love L’Oréal Professional’s copper hues for the color. We used Redken Shades to gloss over her balayage.

What type of client would you recommend this look to?

I would recommend this hair color for anyone wanting a strawberry blonde tone in their hair! Strawberry blonde hair is a great look on anyone with fair skin and pink undertones. The beauty of balayage is that it’s lower maintenance. My client will come in to get her roots retouched every six weeks, but the balayage will look great even as it grows out!

How would you describe this look and what is your favorite thing about it?

This look features ginger tones with hints of strawberry blonde that are reminiscent of the timeless beauty, Rita Hayworth. It’s one of my favorites because it integrates a vintage classic bob with a modern shadowed root.

What products do you recommend to create and maintain this look?

As an artist with L’Oreal Professionnel, I would cleanse and condition with the Lumino Contrast from the Serie Expert line. It replenishes lost proteins without weighing the hair down. Hair is left to feel soft to the touch, and highlights are brilliantly accentuated with radiant shine. Next, I would apply the Tecni Art Sleek and Swing Dual Styler to damp hair before blow drying. This will give natural movement and provide anti-humidity, anti-frizz and heat protection.

To finish the look I used Tecni Art Lumi Controle, a nourishing wax that gives flexible hold, definition, protects the color from sun damage, and adds shine. It creates an iridescent finish that will reflect light and emphasize the hues, while also taming flyaways. I would also recommend returning to the salon every six weeks for a glossing and cut.

What type of client would you recommend this look to?

I would recommend this style for women with fine to medium textured hair. This color compliments those with fair skin, much like Emma Roberts or Connie Britton. This versatile look can be worn by business professionals, busy moms, or young trend-setting fashionistas. This look also pairs perfectly with the rose gold and/or dusty rose fashion that is currently trending.

How would you describe this look and what is your favorite thing about it?

This is a sunkissed caramel strawberry blonde. I love that it looks like the sun did this to her hair, making it a really low maintenance color. Because it is a rooty, lived-in look, it’s going to still look great in a couple months.

What products do you recommend to create and maintain this look?

If you are not a natural red shade, or even if you are and want to enhance it, you could try Pravana Nevo Color Enhancer in Brilliant Cooper to keep the red color from washing away! My client has naturally beautiful curly hair, but sometimes she likes to tame it down. I used Lazer Straight by Unite to blow her out, and then loosely curled her with a one-inch curling iron. Finish by adding a little shine serum and shake it out a bit!

What type of client would you recommend this look to?

This red and blonde, strawberry blonde hair combination would work well on fair skin tones or on anyone who loves and wants to try it! The highlights are applied using a balayage technique, which grows out seamlessly and perfect for a low maintenance person. If you need a base color applied (to cover gray or just your personal preference), it can be easily touched up whenever needed with the highlights still looking beautiful!

How would you describe this look and what is your favorite thing about it?

I would describe this color as a rose blonde. It’s a great combination of gold, copper, and red. I love the loose waves and beachy texture.

What products do you recommend to create and maintain this look?

In order to create these loose waves, I recommend a medium-sized wand and texture spray. My favorites are Joico Hair Shake or AG Dry Wax.

What type of client would you recommend this look to?

This look is more high maintenance, so it is definitely for the client that doesn’t mind coming into the salon every six weeks. I would recommend light to medium skin tones with warm undertones.

Reddish Rose Dimension

Q&A with style creator, Shannon Lauritsen
Hairstylist @ Dandelion Salon in Nashville, TN

How would you describe this look and what is your favorite thing about it?

My best and most simple description of this hair is “golden blonde with rosy dimension.” The base is a very natural looking level 8 golden blonde, and I used a peachy mixture of vivids to paint in the rose gold dimension. My favorite way to execute a pastel or vivid color is to paint it in the hair as if it happened there naturally, and that is what I love so much about this particular look.

What products do you recommend to create and maintain this look?

The most important thing to know about strawberry rose and pastel colors is that they fade fast. It’s just the nature of the color. That being said, you can very easily maintain rose gold at home with the right tools. I highly recommended having your stylist mix up a custom bottle of EVO Fabuloso Toning Conditioner for you to take home. You will be able to maintain your look as needed with no harsh chemicals and it will only take about 20 minutes.

Now for styling, I can’t get enough of texturizing products. Good looking hair always starts with healthy hair, so make sure you are conditioning and protecting your hair from heat styling and sun. For this, I highly recommend Unite’s 7 Seconds leave-in conditioner. Have fun with texturizing products and don’t be afraid to make a little mess. My current favorites are Unite’s Texturiza and R+Co’s Badlands Dry Shampoo Paste.

What type of client would you recommend this look to?

This look is going to work best for those with a natural level 7 hair or lighter because you don’t want to be fighting any red or orange with this process. The exact tone of your rose can vary depending on skin tone. Here, I went for a peachy/strawberry tone that looks so rich with her porcelain skin. Depending on your skin tone, you may want more violet in your formula. Roses come in all sorts of beautiful colors. I always remind my clients that the inspiration image is just that and they are going to get their version of the look, custom and fitting for you!

Light Strawberry Blonde

Q&A with style creator, Erika Gingrich
Master Colorist @ High Fidelity Hair in East Vancouver, B.C.

How would you describe this look and what is your favorite thing about it?

This look is a very soft and subtle statement. Sometimes less is more, and that is my favorite thing about it. Right now everyone is going too loud with bright intense colors, and we have forgotten the beauty in the simple things.

What products do you recommend to create and maintain this look?

Goldwell is always my go-to color line. For this color, I used Goldwell Colorance 25 mls 10n and 5mls 9kg. Soft Color is an at home color maintenance mousse that delivers a soft amount of pigment while leaving your hair super soft and shiny.

What type of client would you recommend this look to?

This light strawberry blonde hair color will look best on olive/lighter skin tones. Unfortunately, if the client has a lot of blemishes this blonde color will not be flattering as the warm copper tones will add to the red in the skin.

The client also has to be ready for some at home maintenance. Use the Goldwell Soft Color once every two to four weeks. Depending on how often they wash their hair, this process at home can take about 20 minutes but can be done while relaxing. This blonde color looks great on all hair types from curly to straight, thick to thin.

Q&A with style creator, Korie Lance
Hairstylist & Salon Owner @ The Mae in Indianapolis, IN

How would you describe this look and what is your favorite thing about it?

This look is sunkissed strawberry radiance at its finest! I’m obsessed with how naturally beautiful the color looks and the way the highlights pop and blend at the same time. Seamless, effortless, yet boldly beautiful!

What products do you recommend to create and maintain this look?

I recommend using Oribe Beautiful Color Shampoo to maintain the richness and depth of the color and Gold Lust Conditioner to moisturize and restore the highlighted ends. They need moisture! I also recommend Oribe Dry Texture spray to give clean or second-day hair a tousled, sexy texture.

What type of client would you recommend this look to?

This look is for someone who has natural warm undertones to their hair and skin. Look at the eyes. If you see warm flecks, then you can rock this look! Length is the key for beautiful dimension, but this look will work on any density of hair. It’s great for someone who doesn’t want to be in the salon every four to six weeks because this kind of look can be stretched out. It is truly a low maintenance beauty!

Chocolate Strawberry Swirl

Q&A with style creator, Kim Vogt
Hair Designer @ Neroli Salon and Spa in Glendale, WI

How would you describe this look and what is your favorite thing about it?

My favorite thing about this look is that it was only the second time she has colored her hair. Here we enhanced the brightness a little more since she was now comfortable coloring her hair. She was ready to liven things up and feel younger after feeling drab about her natural color. This was such a great change for her and she is excited about her future services. Her confidence and excitement was amazing!.

What products do you recommend to create and maintain this look?

I recommend Aveda Color Conserve products. The shampoo, conditioner and daily color protect will ensure long-lasting color and vibrancy. The Pure Abundance Style Prep will give a great lift to fine hair without feeling heavy.

What type of client would you recommend this look to?

Red tones look amazing on porcelain/fair skin tones and really make blue eyes pop! On this guest, we wanted to enhance her features and still give a natural look.

Q&A with style creator, Elisabeth Simpson
Advanced Stylist & Educator @ Stephen and Burns Salon and Spa in Burlington, VT

How would you describe this look and what is your favorite thing about it?

This look was achieved by softly painting Aveda color on a natural blonde guest. I love that there are no solid lines and it gives a little pop of color without being a drastic change with high maintenance.

What products do you recommend to create and maintain this look?

The look was done using Aveda color, so I recommend using the Aveda Color Conserve shampoo and conditioner and Daily Color Protect to preserve and prevent red and blonde color fading.

Red colors typically fade faster, so I recommend shampooing less and using cooler water to rinse.

What type of client would you recommend this look to?

I recommend this look for someone that wants a change without the commitment of upkeep. Because it is not applied near the scalp and is only a change in tone, it will grow out well and can be maintained one to three times per year if desired. It is a shade that works best with naturally fair skinned and lighter haired guests.

Subtle Strawberry Blonde

Instagram @mobilehairbyclaire

Q&A with style creator, Claire Major
Mobile Hairdresser @ Mobile Hair by Claire in Leicester, England

How would you describe this look and what is your favorite thing about it?

I love this look because it gives subtle reddish tones rather than a full head block of color. The strawberry blonde is not overpowering, giving an elegant and subtle overall color.

What products do you recommend to create and maintain this look?

To achieve this look, I used the new BlondeMe range by Schwarzkopf. When the client first came to me she had brunette hair, so I gradually lightened the hair with full head highlights (lowest peroxide possible, left to lighten the hair without breaking it). I performed this twice over three weeks followed by a strawberry toner, making sure it was left on for the correct amount of time to achieve the color required. The client now comes back to have a toner every other week, however, there is a toner spritz within the range that can be sold to clients to keep the color in between visits.

What type of client would you recommend this look to?

I would recommend strawberry blonde hair for clients who don’t mind regular maintenance to keep the red tones in the hair. I think most hair types would achieve and suit this look, however, the strawberry tones would differ from client to client depending on the hair color/type.

This look wouldn’t suit a client who doesn’t spend much time on their hair. It also would not suit a client who spends a lot of the time in the gym and/or washes their hair more than three times per week as the color is likely to fade a lot faster with each wash.
