Golden Globe Hairstyles: Top 3 Hair Trends Of The 69th Golden Globes

We hope you enjoyed one of our favorite red carpet events of the year as much as we did last night. The 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards were definitely a night to remember! Amongst all the gowns and the glam, we really saw three distinct hair trends show up atop your favorite stars and starlets. The great thing is, we loved them all and most were hair trends that be easily recreated.

The first trend we saw and loved was the sexy side sweep. This easy and sultry look really caught on in 2011 and looks to be hot for 2012 as well. The side swept hairstyle looks great with super sleek tresses like Sofia Vergara or with big waves and added volume as seen on Shaun Robinson and Kyle Richards. This is probably the easiest red carpet hair trend to recreate and add to your own repertoire of hairstyles.

Secondly, how about the creative twist on the classic updo some of our favorite starlets were rocking last night? From Octavia Spencer’s center-parted beehive style to Maria Menounos’ twisty high bun to Nicole Richie’s breathtaking pumped up back-swept hairstyle with bangs, the traditional updo is no longer just an updo.

The third hot hair trend we saw that we are really excited about was all the different and rather informal textures in many of the red carpet styles. From natural waves and kinks to barely brushed updos, perfectly polished is no longer a requirement when it comes to star studded hairstyles.

We will admit that our favorite red carpet hair of the night didn’t directly fall into any of these categories, but we have to talk about it because it was one of the most breathtaking hairstyles of the night. Julie Bowen’s perfectly placed retro glam waves just blew us away. The deep, volumized front side sweep provided the perfect crown to her bouncy blonde curls. Julie’s hair was the perfect accent to to her understated makeup and stunning gown. We loved it!
