Hot Long Bob with Side Bangs

Q&A with style creator, Jules McCormack
Hairstylist @ Belli Belli Salon & Boutique in San Diego, CA

How would you describe this look?

This is a very texturized and shattered layered lob with a soft side bang. The best part about it is the lightness and movement it provides and the versatility of it.

It looks cute and sassy yet classy both curled and straight and can fabulously accentuate dimensional color like highlights or balayage because of the texture.

Any advice for someone considering it?

This haircut thrives with thicker, textured hair that can afford heavy weight removal. Finer, thinner hair can begin to look broomy or frayed if it is overdone, so be careful. Although if it is done right it will give you a soft feathery look. I love how flat iron curls look with it for a suggested style, paired with medium hold gel, or a texturizing powder/spray.

My favorite is Bumble and Bumble’s thickening dry spun spray, but your favorite dry shampoo will do just fine. It is low maintenance for most lifestyles as it fits in a bun or pony and does not require to be styled every day. It is slightly triangular as it is longer in the front (which is, of course, adjustable for different face shapes, so are the bangs).

This accentuates the cheeks and jaw, and elongate the neck making it a slimming and flattering chic look for summer. Have a thorough consultation with your stylist if you are considering this cut, and enjoy this fresh summer look!

Naturally Curly Bob with Bangs

How would you describe this look?

We’ve been growing it out from a pixie. She’s used to doing tons of fun color but she is very classy. Now with longer hair, I wanted to make sure the haircut was strong, a statement haircut, for her personality. Classy for work but still have the edge.

She has a graduated bob with inverted layers at the crown. I wanted strength at the perimeter but also to break up the layers to give volume and balance.

I colored her with Tigi Copyright  Colour – three parts 55/22 and one part 4, with 20v activator which I picked for my target shade and grey coverage. I then combed the roots down strategically then used 30 grams of /00 of our gloss series with 5grams of 55/22 and 5/6 with 8.5 vol activator for the dusty rose on rest of hair.

Any advice for someone considering it?

This look is great for thick curly hair because it’s strong and balanced. It has a build up of weight at the perimeter, but it also has layers for weight distribution which helps the look be balanced visually.

The fringe helped open her face up, so her face isn’t lost in her hair. I used Oribe thickening mousse on her roots for volume and Bumble and Bumble’s Don’t Blow It for control and a soft air dried natural end result.

Q&A with style creator, Crystal Hilbert
Hairstylist & Makeup Artist @ Blevins & Co. Hair Salon in Monroe, NC

How would you describe this look?

This look is a short and sassy, chin length, A-line Bob. We did her overall color red (made it more vibrant than her natural for fun), added highlights for contrast, and darkened her base for depth.

I love how the contrast of the color shows off the texture and layers of this cut. It makes it look lived in, fun, and sexy but still professional.

Any advice for someone considering it?

This hairstyle is very versatile. It works great with straight or naturally curly hair. It gives you volume, appears thicker, and requires a lot less styling. If you have a busy lifestyle and are wanting to make the big chop, go with this sassy hairstyle.

Splendid Bob Haircut with Bangs

Q&A with style creator, Carlos A. Castellanos
Hairstylist @ ROIL Life in Beverly Hills, CA

How would you describe this look?

This is a modern soft blunt bob. It has a pretty solid perimeter that is gently broken up with point cutting.

The two best things about this cut are how low maintenance it is and that her bangs are customized to suit her style.

Any advice for someone considering it?

Consider their natural texture and how much time they are willing to spend on their hair.

This style looks best blow-dried smooth with a slight bend on the ends. It’s ideal for straight hair or hair with a slight wave in it. It works with almost ever face shape however, the rounder the face shape the more length should be left towards the face.

Bangs are customized per the individual. This short style is not for people who typically like to put their hair up.

Textured Bob with Fringe

Q&A with style creator, Lindy Hoffman
Stylist @ The Young American Salon in Tustin, CA

How would you describe this look?

This look is a textured bob with a fringe.

My favorite thing about this look is the strong perimeter that was cut for weight and paired with surface layers to give her lots of fun movement within the haircut.

Any advice for someone considering it?

Let’s do this! This look is so much fun and super low maintenance. Transitioning to a haircut with fringe is an easy way to change your whole look. Styling this haircut is super easy for any client looking to wash and go.

Using only a few key products, this haircut can look perfectly tousled with little effort. The go-to product for this haircut would be This Is A Dry Texturizing Spray from Davines. It creates the messy look with a light hold, and you will love the scent!

How would you describe this look?

To me, this look is fairly contemporary classic. It has strong, clean lines and an interesting fringe that complements her beautiful angular face!

Any advice for someone considering it?

This look is perfect for the guest who doesn’t mind a little maintenance required to upkeep their hair, as well as for someone with straight to wavy texture. It doesn’t require much heat styling to make it gorgeous!

Your best friend will be a lightweight hair serum when wet, and a dry texturizer once the hair is dry.

How would you describe this look?

This style is a mix of modern and classic. The textured, face-framing bangs are shaggy and modern. The bottom features a classic blunt cut, and the blunt line makes her face come alive.

Any advice for someone considering it?

I recommend this look for any fashionable woman. The blunt bob pairs perfectly with 70s, 80s, and 90s fashion, meaning that it is designed to place the emphasis on the clothes.

Pink Lob Dreams

Q&A with style creator, Jess Basham
Hair Artist @ Heatwave Salon in Ridgecrest, CA

How would you describe this look?

I would describe this look as an edgy textured lob with a full fringe. I had SO much fun creating this look with my client! She gave me free reign on both color and design.

We cut five inches off her hair and it was her first time ever having a bang! This color was a triple process with many treatments in between, so anyone considering this look needs to know it isn’t something that happens quickly.

Any advice for someone considering it?

I suggest having patience in the lifting process and understand the maintenance needed for the color, and especially for the bangs. Proper home care products are absolutely needed as well!

I styled her hair using Redken Velvet Gelatin 07, Redken Satinwear 04, and Redken Iron Shape 11, then finished with Sebastian Shaper Plus. I also used a 1-inch iron to create her waves.

Mod Middle Part Bob with Curtain Bangs

Q&A with style creator, Liz Macey
Hairstylist @ Gallery Salon in Rochester, NY

How would you describe this look?

This mod lob with a curtain bang is a fun and edgy way to wear a shorter style! It’s perfect for someone who is thinking about bangs, but doesn’t want to commit.

Any advice for someone considering it?

My advice is to stay on the longer side and slowly take the bangs shorter as you get used to having something around your face. They do have to be styled to give them this look, but they lay nicely for those lazy days too!

I suggest blowing the bangs out by over directing them to get the swoop and using a 1 1/4-inch curling iron to add textured waves. Lots of texture is key, so any product to give the hair grit is best. I use sea salt spray on wet hair and lots of dry texture spray once the hair is dry!

How would you describe this look?

We created this sleek, modern bob with multidimensional mocha tones. I love how the bangs draw attention to her eyes and bone structure, while the color warms her skin tone.

Any advice for someone considering it?

Something to keep in mind for this style is that it will require some styling in the morning with a blow dryer and/or a flat iron. The amount of styling depends on the client’s natural texture, but this may not be for your “wash and go” personalities.

In terms of face shape, this is NOT best suited for people with shorter faces (round or square) as it might close the face off.

Face-Framing Long Bob Fringe

Face-Framing Long Bob Fringe
Instagram @cosmobykirsten

Q&A with style creator, Kirsten Smith
Hair & Makeup Artist @ Christian Michael Hair Studio in Concord, NH

How would you describe this look and what is your favorite thing about it?

This look is a textured, long bob with a long, face-framing fringe. My favorite thing about this look is that it’s very versatile. The client wanted something where she could still pull her hair back, but the fringe offers a soft and feminine touch around her face even, when she is feeling like a messy bun.

What products do you recommend to maintain and recreate this look?

At my studio, we use Arrojo products to style our creations. For this look, I used the Arrojo Styling Whip to hold my blow dry. My client had natural wave, so we wanted something that could hold the smoother look I created with the round brush.

After creating some loose flat iron curls, I finished her off with Arrojo ReFinish dry shampoo at the root for volume and to “mess up” the curls for a natural, textured style!

What type of client would you recommend this look for?

I recommend this style to someone who has a straight or wavy natural hair type, and a client who wants to elongate their face shape. This style can be straightened, curled, or left with the natural hair texture for a wash and go routine.

With the inverted style cut, the length is preserved in the front to draw your eyes to that length. My client didn’t want to lose a lot of length, but the fringe totally changed her style and look without taking too much off.

I recommend this look to someone who is looking to be trendy, yet low maintenance.

Effortless Bob with Bangs and Blonde Hair

Q&A with style creator, Jacqui Cubitt
Owner @ Jacqui Cubitt Hair in Mermaid Beach, Australia

How would you describe this look and what is your favorite thing about it?

I describe this look as effortless beauty. My favorite thing about it is that it is simple and carefree! You can style it to look polished and finished, or style it to look messy and effortless. The bangs really complete the look.

What products do you recommend to maintain and recreate this look?

This look is super low maintenance with next to no product usage needed. Use a good shampoo and conditioner paired with a leave-in and a touch of sea salt spray and this look will be complete.

What type of client would you recommend this look for?

This look so versatile and would suit many different people from a young insta model to a mom that wants a bit of style without all the hard work.

Blunt Lob With Shattered Fringe

Q&A with style creator, Christine Woods
Senior Director @ Garnish Studio in Raleigh, NC

How would you describe this look and what is your favorite thing about it?

This is a blunt lob with soft, shattered fringe. I love the contrast of soft and whispy next to blunt and angular.

What products do you recommend to maintain and recreate this look?

For moveable but defined texture, I love using R+Co Death Valley at the roots and throughout the ends. To give her bangs separation, I used Kevin Murphy’s Bedroom.Hair, pinching tiny sections of her fringe while spraying them in place.

What type of client would you recommend this look for?

This cut is great for heart shaped and oval faces and either straight or slightly wavy hair. The bangs can be high maintenance, so this look is best for a client that doesn’t mind coming in every two to three weeks for a bang trim.

French Bob with Bangs

Q&A with style creator, Lisa Stevens
Hair Artist @ Indie Salon in Folsom, CA

How would you describe this look and what is your favorite thing about it?

My nickname for the haircut is “French Bob” and I would describe the look as timeless. The haircut is a blunt bob that flips slightly out (only adding layers with thinning shears) with long, straight bangs that get slightly longer toward the sides. I styled the “undone” looking waves using a curling iron.

My favorite thing about the look is the bluntness of the cut mixed with undone waves. It is just so cute! I like that many people with different hair textures can wear this cut. I was deeply inspired by Margot Robbie’s bob in the recently released British historical drama film called Goodbye Christopher Robin.

What products do you recommend to maintain and recreate this look?

To maintain this look, you definitely need Evo Water Killer dry shampoo and a hairspray that is moveable like This is A Medium Hairspray by Davines. The prep is everything. For this look, I put in a heat protectant and frizz reducer (like Hair Assistant Blow Dry Prep or Oi All in One MILK Leave-In by Davines) when the hair was slightly damp. I sprayed about eight to ten sprays in.

I styled the bangs by combing them back and forth, left to right until fully dry. Either air dry (if you have slightly wavy hair) or hand dry the rest of the hair with your hands and finish with a brush for smoothness. To roughen up the texture, I sprayed in Evo Dry shampoo at the roots and slightly all over. I curled all the hair back with a 1 1/4-inch. I then took random tiny sections and curled them forward to get the undone look. Let all the hair cool, then curl each side of the bangs under and slightly back to get that Zooey Deschanel look.

Spray the entire head with Medium Hold Hairspray by Davines. Separate the curls by roughening the edges between your fingertips. If there is any frizz, take the MILK and spray a little in your hands then scrunch over the hair.

What type of client would you recommend this look for?

This look is ideal for the girl that loves to get noticed for her style. My clients love to make trendy items wearable, or take a classic shape and turn it into something not boring. This haircut fits that description.

It is ideal for medium density and slightly wavy hair texture and great for hair that can hold a curl or can be smoothed easily. This is the perfect look for a girl that has natural waves, but doesn’t know how to wear them, or a girl with less volume on top that wants her look more symmetrical by adding bangs.

Texturized Graduated Bob with Wispy Bangs

Q&A with style creator, Estefan King
Student @ Aveda Institute South Florida in Fort Lauderdale, FL

How would you describe this look and what is your favorite thing about it?

This is a graduated bob with a lot of texture and bangs. My favorite part of this bob is that it requires very minimal styling and it is perfect for women and men with busy lifestyles. It is a very low maintenance haircut.

What products do you recommend to maintain and recreate this look?

For this model, we used a leave-in (Aveda’s Daily Hair Repair) to protect the integrity of the hair from previous coloring services. I also applied this to her hair before cutting because it doubles as a cutting lotion. I used a light foam (Aveda’s Phomollient) for volume. When paired with the Daily Hair Repair it gives the perfect smooth blowout!

To finish, we used a pomade (Aveda’s Anti Humectant) to give the hair some shine and protect from the humidity.

What type of client would you recommend this look for?

This hairstyle is great for people that are looking for a change but don’t want a ton of maintenance. This also depends on your hair texture though. For my curly/kinky girls, this cut will turn into a tapered afro/curls depending on the tightness of your texture, but it is a great look. For my wavy/straight textures, this is good for the girl that doesn’t want to style every day. You can achieve some great looks with a natural wave or straight hair on textured bobs.

I also believe that most haircuts can be tailored to fit the person’s face shape. It is the job of the stylist to help you determine whether this style is the perfect fit or not.

Blonde Pop

This asymmetric bob cut with pops of bold blonde from underneath and across the side bangs is super trendy, but can easily be pulled off in any office!

Style by Becky Bennett, Elon Salon, Marietta, GA

How To Style:

  1. Apply styling cream to damp hair and comb through to ensure even saturation.
  2. Blow dry hair using a flat brush. Make sure to direct the fringe off to chosen side.
  3. Once dry, use a flat iron set at the lowest heat setting for your hair type (360 degrees for color treated hair) to smooth the ends.
  4. If needed, apply a small amount of styling cream or oil to smooth hair.

Recommended Products:

A great smoothing cream won’t weigh your hair down, but helps to smooth and soften it with a light hold.  My favorite is Pravana’s Model Behavior.

Best Face Shape and Hair Type:

Confident beauties with a heart shaped face wear this look best, while hair that is medium to fine in thickness and straight to wavy will make it easy to style.

Tip:

If blonde doesn’t pop enough for you, try any of the colors of the rainbow! Violet, blue, pink, teal, or any pastel or neon shade could work with this cut and style as well.

As Good as Gold

A buttery golden blonde creates a bold yet soft look that is great for fairer skin tones. Paired with blunt bangs and a bob, the look is a total showstopper.

How To Style:

Heart, diamond and oval face shapes look great in this blunt bob, while hair that is medium in density and naturally straight will make it easiest to recreate this look.

Tip:

Less is more with professional styling products. Always start off with less product and add more if needed rather than ending up with too much and making your hair harder to style.

How To Style:

  1. While hair is still damp, apply a medium hold gel mixed with a texturizing cream.
  2. Blow dry hair without a brush, moving it in different directions as you dry. Once almost dry, switch to using a vented brush to dry bangs and the hair around the face.
  3. Mist dry hair with a texture spray.
  4. Use a flat iron to give different pieces a blunt look, including the bangs.
  5. Using a paste, pinch your ends and give separation to layers.

Recommended Products:

A great texture spray that can be layered to add more hold is Pravana’s Invisible Control. It can be used wet or dry to create all sorts of textured looks.

Best Face Shape and Hair Type:

Any face shape can wear this bold look, while hair that is medium to thick in texture and naturally straight is easiest to recreate this look.

Tip:

This cut looks amazing with any shade of hair color, so if vibrant colors aren’t your thing, that’s ok. Still give this cut a try!

Shine sprays are a fabulous product to have in your arsenal. Try Pravana’s VIVIDS shine spray. It has mega doses of sunscreen to protect your hair and smells amazing!

Best Face Shape and Hair Type:

Straight locks that are medium to thick wear this swing bob best, while heart, round and square face shapes look fabulous sporting this style.

Tip:

Clip-in hair extensions can help create a new look every time you use them. Grab some in assorted colors to create a rainbow, or just one color to wear on the weekends if work doesn’t allow fashion colors.

I am obsessed with Pravana’s Lived In Powder Potion. It gives the most amazing texture and volume.  Apply in your hands and work slightly to transform it into a light pomade. As you apply the product, it goes back to a fine powder and never gets gritty on the scalp.

Best Face Shape and Hair Type:

Heart, round and oval face shapes wear this soft wave beautifully. Hair that is fine to medium in thickness and naturally wavy or straight works well to recreate this look.

Tip:

A great curling iron is key to achieving beautiful curls that last. Look at a few at Ulta or your local beauty supply, and then check online reviews to find the right iron for you.

When you are using a curling iron more than once a week, you need to invest in a quality iron. This will help to keep your hair healthy by not exposing it to too high of heat. Check out your local beauty supply and ask your stylist for recommendations.

How would you describe this look?

It’s a chic angle bob with bangs. It’s clean and classic. I love that that it has a hidden secret and that it can be worn smooth or with some texture so it’s very versatile.

Any advice for someone considering it?

It’s super easy to style so it’s great for women who don’t have a lot of time to do their hair. It’s great for all hair types and most face shapes. The angled bob is timeless, always in style, and looks great on most people! I love using a little BB cream from AG hair, and then blow drying it out smooth with a round brush!

Foxy Brown

Texture, layers, side-swept bangs…what more could you ask for? You are sure to look “Foxy” in this beautiful brown bob.

How To Style:

  1. Apply a texturizing cream to clean, damp hair.
  2. Blow dry with your fingers.
  3. Once hair is completely dry, apply a light hold hairspray over the entire head.
  4. Take a smoothing iron and start flipping up random pieces of hair.
  5. Once you achieve the desired style, take a dime-sized amount of pomade and go over the flipped out pieces. This will keep the style in place as well as accentuate the texture.

Pravana’s Twist Fiber Paste is easy to use and will last all day and night.

Best Face Shape and Hair Type:

This cut and style is suitable for all face shapes and hair types.

Copper Goddess

This stylish bob has such a beautiful shape with the light layers and soft fringe. The bright, copper color gives this classic shape a little extra pizazz.

How To Style:

  1. Apply a volumizing foam to clean, damp hair.
  2. Blow dry using a small round brush. Dry bangs first in a forward motion. Make sure to dry the rest of the hair in a downward motion. This will give you the volume and smoothness that makes this style so beautiful.
  3. Run a smoothing iron through hair to really close the cuticle. This will ensure maximum shine.
  4. Finish off with a lightweight hairspray.

Recommended Products:

Paul Mitchell’s Awapuhi Wild Ginger Hydrowhip is fantastic. It smells amazing and gives a soft, flexible hold. Top the look off with Aquage’s Finishing Spray.

Best Face Shape and Hair Type:

If you have an oval, heart or square shaped face, this cut is perfect for you. This cut and style will make anyone with fine or thin hair look thicker and fuller.

Tip:

Use a color protecting shampoo and conditioner to help maintain the vibrancy of this color. Ask your stylist for soft layers when getting this cut.

Sweeping Inverted Layered Bob

This is a stunning style for the brave fashionista! This little number is a popular variation of the stacked bob. The emphasis here is on the contrast from longer in the front to the shorter in the back.

This is a great look for thicker and curlier hair types who want a ‘wash and go’ look.

Accented Sleek Bob

This is a very clean and modern look with a twist on the fringe. The little pop of color is subtle and stands out in a very cute way. This could be a conservative crowd pleaser as well as a look for the fashion forward.

Best Face Shape and Hair Type:

This look works well on all face shapes. Finer hair types may want to use a little less product to avoid build up.

Ruby Red

Without a doubt, this beautiful bob is an attention getter. With the ruby red lowlights strategically placed in the fringe and around her face, this softly layered bob is a stunner.

How To Style:

  1. Starting with clean, wet hair, apply a root lifter in the crown to give some volume. Then apply a smoothing serum starting at the ends. This will help speed up drying time as well as prevent frizz when drying.
  2. Blow dry in sections starting at the bottom. Use a small paddle brush for the bottom part of the hair, using the curve of your head as your guide. By pulling your hair from side to side as you are drying, you will achieve the straightness at the bottom without the volume
  3. As you move up, start to use a small to medium size round brush. Take the round brush and pull sections of the hair from the root out. This will give you volume as well as smooth the hair.
  4. When hair is completely, dry take a dime-sized amount of polishing cream, emulsify into your hands and run it through your hair to add definition and shine.
  5. Top off this beautiful style with a lightweight hairspray.

Recommended Products:

You will see that I will recommend a lot of Aquage products because they WORK!  For volume, use their Uplifting Foam. The smoothing serum I use on almost everyone is Silkening Oil. Finish off with their Detailing Creme and Finishing Spray.

Best Face Shape and Hair Type:

This is such a versatile style for every face shape. I would recommend this type of cut and style for normal to fine hair because it will add volume and movement.

Tip:

Ask your stylist to place red lowlights throughout your hair. To put the focus on bringing out your eyes, have them concentrate the placement a little heavier in the fringe and around your face.

Peek-A-Boo Baby

The compliments won’t stop with these peek-a-boo bangs! With the blunt edges, cut out fringe and warm coppery hue, you are sure to exude confidence.

How To Style:

  1. Apply a quarter-sized amount of straightening gel to damp, towel dried hair.
  2. Using a small to medium paddle brush, begin drying your hair, starting with the bangs.
  3. Brush and blow dry bangs forward. If you have any cowlicks in the front I recommend taking the brush and moving your bangs back in forth in the opposite direction as you dry. This will help get that “bump” out of the bang and help them to lay smooth.
  4. After hair is 100% dry, use your flat iron to seal the cuticle and get that sexy, glossy look.
  5. Starting with small sections at the bottom, use a heat protecting spray. Spray about six inches away from hair. You do not want to saturate the strand.
  6. Run your flat iron from roots to ends, going over each section no more than two times. You don’t want to burn or damage your hair!
  7. When done smoothing the hair, finish with a lightweight pomade to add definition.

Recommended Products:

Paul Mitchell’s Straight Works is ideal for this style. The best heat protectant spray I have ever used is Aquage’s Beyond Shine. It’s ultra lightweight so it does not leave a greasy residue on your hair. Pravana’s Detail Shine & Define is an excellent pomade to smooth flyaways and add definition to this sharp cut.

Best Face Shape and Hair Type:

This style is suitable for round and oval face shapes. Any hair type could rock this cut and style. It can add weight to thin, fine hair or minimize weight from thick, course hair.

Tip:

Let your stylist know that you want your bangs cut at an angle. Going from short to long, have the bangs start out short right above your brow, gradually getting longer on the other side.

Long Layered Bob with Bangs

With a few subtle highlights and a softly textured fringe, this long layered bob is as classic as they come.

How To Style:

  1. Add approximately a quarter-sized amount of thickening lotion throughout clean, damp hair.
  2. Comb through to distribute product evenly.
  3. Using a small paddle brush, blow dry bangs forward. Do this before you begin to dry the rest of your hair. This will prevent your bangs from separating.
  4. Continue drying the rest of your hair with a large paddle brush, keeping the heat from the dryer going down the hair strands. I recommend using a concentrator on the end of your hair dryer. Many professional hair dryers come with them and they help with the air flow so that if kept in the same direction as the hair, it will ensure a smoother more polished look.
  5. Once hair is completely dry, smooth down any flyaways with a flat iron and a mist of light hairspray.

Recommended Products:

Paul Mitchell’s Thicken Up will help plump up the cuticle giving you that thick, luscious hair that we all crave.  When you need a light and flexible hairspray, you can’t go wrong with Aquage’s Finishing Spray.

Best Face Shape and Hair Type:

This amazing style works best on round, oval and heart shaped faces. All hair types work with this cut and style.

Tip:

When asking your stylist for this cut, ask for long layers that are cut blunt on the ends and softly textured bangs.

Flirty Fringe

A surprise pop of color adds some spunk to this chin-length bob. Along with the side-swept, flirty fringe, this style is sophisticated enough for the office yet sassy enough for the evening.

How To Style:

  1. While hair is still damp, apply a volumizing spray at the roots.
  2. Blow dry using a medium sized round brush.
  3. Section hair off. Starting off at the bottom, roll hair under with the round brush while drying.
  4. Take a large section from the bang area and roll it back towards the crown with the round brush while drying. This will give it that nice, subtle flip in the front without making it look like a curl.
  5. Finish off with a medium hold hairspray.

Recommended Products:

Aveda’s Volumizing Tonic and Brilliant Medium Hold Spray are excellent tools to help you to achieve this style. I love the ceramic round brushes by Cricket. They don’t snag or pull the hair and give a nice polished look.

Best Face Shape and Hair Type:

This style is perfect for all face shapes and hair types.

Tip:

Ask your stylist for a chin-length bob with long layers. For the fringe, ask for a longer side-swept bang. If you love the color shining through in the bang, ask for a few peek-a-boo pieces of whatever color you desire!

Pastel Princess

This pastel blonde is icing on the cake. It turns this basic bob and bangs combo into a serious show stopper!

How To Style:

  2. Blow dry with a small to medium size paddle brush.
  3. Once hair is completely dry, you can run a smoothing iron through to tame any stray hairs.
  4. Use a dime-sized amount of a very lightweight pomade throughout hair to add detail and shine.

Recommended Products:

I love Biomega’s BeHave for a smoothing elixir. It has a creamy consistency, smells beautiful and smooths the cuticle for a straight, silky finish. To add shine and separation to the hair, use Biomega’s Text Me. It’s pliable, lightweight and very easy to work with.

Best Face Shape and Hair Type:

This cut and style works best for round and oval face shapes. If you have fine or thin hair, this cut will help give you the fullness you desire.

Tip:

Ask your stylist for a blunt cut with a small amount of layering at the bottom.

How To Style:

  1. Apply a smoothing serum to clean, damp hair.
  2. Blow dry (using a directional nozzle) with a smoothing brush. Start with the bangs and work your way through the rest of your hair.
  3. After hair is completely dry, take small sections starting in the back and run your flat iron through from roots to ends. Make sure to apply a heat protectant before flat ironing. The goal is to get hair as smooth as possible.
  4. Run a small amount of smoothing serum on the top layer of hair. This will tame flyaways and give you a beautiful, glossy finish.

Recommended Products:

Moroccan Oil is the only product you need for this beauty. It’s a great product that can be used on both wet and dry hair. A boar bristle flat brush is a perfect smoothing brush and Denman makes a great one.

Best Face Shape and Hair Type:

This particular length of bob is fab for oval, long  and square shaped faces. The look also works great with all hair types.

Tip:

Just tell your stylist that you want to look like the Queen of Egypt!
