#4: Sleek and Simple Knotless Jumbo Braids

Simple knotless jumbo braids are perfect for Black girls with reserved styles. Because the design is minimal, the execution of simple parts and plaits is critical to make this look good. Ladies with more coarse or tightly kinked hair are not advised to seek this look, as it will not last long at all. Because of the large sections, naturally straight or wavy hair is best to sustain this sleek look.

#5: Brick Layered Jumbo Knotless Braids

The trick to keeping individual braids balanced is with the parting and weight. Brick-layered jumbo knotless braids do just that. They allow the braids to fall equally around your head and spread out to distribute the weight so it doesn’t look too heavy or too skimpy. The execution is easier on ladies with thick hair since the roots should be full and sleek. Use an edge control such as Style Factor Edge Booster  and a small brush at home to re-design your baby hairs on the perimeter.

Face-Framing Large Knotless Box Braids with Center Part

#6: Face-Framing Large Box Braids

Face-framing large box braids are ideal for Black women with heart-shaped faces. They can be done easily with a middle part. While having a middle part with a widow’s peak is not bad, I always suggest not forcing a middle part if the hair doesn’t want to move that way. Before getting large sectioned braids, be sure to straighten your natural hair. This way, it doesn’t revert back to its natural wave pattern when product is applied during the installation of the braids.

#7: Medium-Length Big Knotless Box Braids

Big knotless box braids with a couple of stitch braids in the front are cute for young ladies. Keeping the length at the bra strap keeps the maintenance low and the braids lightweight. To get the sleekest finish, use a strong hold gel when installing. Then, use a cold or hooded setting on a blow dryer to help set the braids.

#8: Neat Large Box Braids Style without Knots

Looking for something sleek and chic in your next protective style? Rock some neat large knotless braids. Notice the gradual increase in thickness from the roots and down the braid. The braid hair is simply fed in at a slower rate and is usually easier to pull into a ponytail or bun. For the sleekest roots, try using Loc N Gel Twists Braids Wave Edge Gel and setting it under cool air settings to finish.

#9: Knotless Braided Style with Subtle Brown Highlights

A simple color selection can achieve your knotless braided style with brown highlights. Different colored braid hair is becoming more versatile. It offers a multi-toned range in 2, 3, and 4 colors and different mixes. For this particular look, seek 1b/30 ombre so that the brown mix is subtle in the roots and mid-stran. It then fades into a solid brown at the ends.

#10: Large-Sized Traditional Box Braids

For a clean and reserved braid style, think about large-sized knotless braids. With a very much “straight to the point” design, the details in the execution is what makes the style so beautiful. Precision parting, consistent hair addition, and a seamless braid down is all part of what makes this style pretty. I suggest hiring a professional braider for the neatest results.

#11: No-Knots Jumbo Box Braids

No-knots jumbo box braids are another version of jumbo knotless. The natural-looking plaits have no knot at the base, creating a natural look. Note that the weight can be quite heavy if the distribution is inconsistent when the hair is added in. To feel lighter, it’s best if you naturally have long and thick hair.

#12: Extra Large Knotless Braids With Beads

A trending styling choice is extra large knotless braids with beads. Beads have always been playful and stylish and now have become an accent for adults. The extra large sections allow for less tension on the scalp since so much hair must be smoothed into one braid. This doesn’t allow the style to last longer than a few weeks, but it makes a statement. Tying down with a silk scarf at night is critical to keep the roots smooth and neat.

#13: Butt-Length Loose Box Braids

These box braids are referred to as “loose” simply because they aren’t chunky in thickness. Removing chunkiness makes the braids feel much lighter. They can easily pull into a ponytail or bun. Although these aren’t very thick, at-home upkeep is needed. Tying down at night and avoiding moisture is still critical for the roots. Use tea tree oil on your parts as needed for itch.

#14: Middle Part Knotless Braids with Curled Ends

Try middle part knotless braids with curled ends if you want a simple protective style. I typically advise my clients to get a middle part with their individual. Because within a few days, you’ll be able to able to flip braids on either side and create the part wherever you want. Curled ends add a whimsical touch. They can be manipulated into different curl and wave patterns to match your style.

Very Long Thick Black Large Knotless Box Braids with Thinner Ends

#15: Thick Black Box Braids with Thinner Ends

Getting thick box braids is a critical technique for consistent and polished individuals. Back in the day, braiders would use fire to melt the ends together. But today, the braiding hair is usually pre-stretched. This means the ends aren’t blunt cut, so the braid down tapers to a thin end. This technique removes weight from the ends and makes it easier to pull into ponytails and hair buns.

#16: Very Long Big Braids with Pink Accent

Do you want something charming but quick? Ask your braider for some very long big braids with pink accents. For thick braids with large sections, it’s best to have natural hair that is not tightly kinked like 4c or 4b. This is also an ideal style for Black women with relaxed hair. Sleek roots require straight or near-straight hair to remain smooth. To switch up the look, you can ask your braider to swap out the pink braid for a different color whenever you want.

Hip-Length Large Knotless Box Braids for Women's Black Hair

#17: Hip-Length Large Knotless Box Braids

Get into these hip-length large knotless box braids. While these are not traditional box braids, the box parting still allows these knotless to fall under box braids. Remember that the longer braids are, the more weight they carry. It is critical that you have an experienced braider taper the ends strategically. This helps to maintain consistency while removing weight from the ends. To make it easier for braiders, there is long braid hair, such as 56″ and longer, on the market and ready to braid.

#18: Large Chunky Box Braids

Large chunky box braids are an option for ladies who don’t have much time to spend in the chair. They’re also great for ladies who are somewhat tender-headed. Because the individuals can flip to either side, the versatility is limitless. Plus, it looks great on any facial shape. Be careful not to make the braids too thick. You don’t want the weight to hurt your neck.

#19: Long and Large Goddess Braids

You can make a bold yet soft statement with long and large goddess braids. Neatness is the trick to getting such a stunning look with minimal design. Precision parting with neat braid downs set off the knotless braids. For added spice, style with goddess curls. Finish the ends with human hair curls and add the curls throughout the braids. You’ll turn heads with this beautiful protective style!

#20: Long-Length Copper Red Knotless Braids

Feel like tapping into your red side? Consider long-length copper red knotless braids. Look for #350 in the braid hair section for this color, or ask your braider. This super-rich copper tone is quite chic and compares to that of a new shiny penny. Embrace the color even more by having your hair fully tucked so that the color makes a bold statement. Use flexi rods to dip in hot water for curls at the ends. Remember to remove the rods once the ends have cooled so you don’t lose too much of the curl.

#21: Dark-Rooted Brown Knotless Braids

Knotless braids are flat box braids with natural hair shining at the roots. Your choice of brown mid-strand to ends makes a great choice for a simplistic braid style. Knotless braids tend to be a great choice for their flexible style options and variety of ways to wear them. The brown color, such as #30, has the most appreciation for its charming rich tones. Ask your braider to tuck your natural hair while braiding down. This way, most of your natural color is hidden and protected.

Center-Parted Long Large Knotless Braids with Sleek Edges

#22: Center-Parted Large Braids with Sleek Edges

For a bold, braid look, rock center-parted large braids with sleek edges to balance the hard and soft look. Baby hair designs are quite popular in braid styles. They can be very pretty in the numerous ways to wave and comb them. Ask your braider to leave out the short hair around your perimeter and freestyle the designs. Your natural hair must be straightened first for the sleekest large sections. This way, when a hold product is applied, your natural hair doesn’t fully revert to its natural curl at the base so fast. Try Style Factor Edge Booster and a small comb and brush tool for edge maintenance.

#23: Golden Brown Box Braided Style

For ladies with warm skin tones and who want a braid style, try a golden brown box braided style. #27 is a popular color that can sometimes feel a bit washed. Mixing #30 and #27 together for a custom blend is one of my tricks for spicing up extensions. To get the most protective measure out of your braids, always ask your braider to tuck your natural hair under the braid hair. This way, your hair isn’t subject to heat and natural factors that may otherwise cause some damage.

Medium-Length Chunky Large Knotless Braids with Spiral Curls

#24: Chunky Knotless Braids with Spiral Curls

A simple androgynous braid style is chunky knotless braids with spiral curls. Using short braid hair or cutting just past the length of your natural hair makes these knotless look even more natural. They match the color and length of your natural hair. Because these are chunky and large, pressing your roots before using a sleek product is best. This allows the knotless to lay flat before slowly reverting to its natural curl pattern. Maintain at home by wearing a bonnet at night and avoiding steam and water.

#25: Large Knotless Braids with Curly Ends

Get into these precisely executed large knotless braids with curly ends. To make this simple braid style nice, precision parting and a neat, consistent braid down are a must. Typically, neat box braids have a large knot at the base. But box braids today have evolved. They are now installed using the feed-in technique on individual braids. This makes them look like your natural hair at the roots. For curly ends, use perm or flexi rods of your size choice. The great thing about most braid hair is that you can always manipulate the ends in hot water. So you can wear straight or curly ends whenever you want.

Choosing the Right Style for Your Hair

“When it comes to large knotless braids, the best fit is for those with 4b-4c hair types,” Shivonne shares. If your hair length ranges from 4 inches to shoulder length, you’re in luck. However, Shivonne advises against this style if you’re looking for longevity. “Large knotless usually last about 3 weeks with proper care.” For those with thin or fine hair, Shivonne cautions, “This may be a little heavy for thinner hair types.”

Preparing Your Hair for Braiding

Getting ready for your braiding session is crucial. “Large knotless take between 2 to 2.5 hours,” says Shivonne, depending on a few factors like your hair’s volume and the desired length of your braids. To prep, start with clean, conditioned, and detangled hair. “Use a wide tooth comb and work from tips to roots.” Before blow drying with minimal heat, apply a heat protecting spray to avoid damage.

Styling and Maintenance Tips

Keeping your braids looking great involves proper maintenance. Shivonne recommends using light oils every few days to keep the hair moisturized. “Be gentle to avoid tension,” she adds. For styling, “use beads and accessories to make them your own.” Since large knotless braids are a tension-free style, feel free to wear them in a bun or let them hang freely, styled to your liking.
