Beachy Bedhead

Why We Love It: If anyone knows how to do bedhead right, it’s the Olsen twins. This flirty, just-out-of-bed look is easy to style, too!

Get the Look:  “Using a 1-1/2 barrel iron, start at the mid-shaft and spiral hair switching directions on each section. Leave ends out for an unfinished look, ” says Natasha Sunshine, Pureology Ambassador and founder of Beauty-Snap.com. Before setting, Sunshine recommends using Pureology Cuticle Polisher Shine Serum followed by a pea-sized amount of Pureology Cuticle Polisher afterward to blend all sections together.

Sassy Ponytail

Why We Love It: A sassy ponytail like this one seen on Lauren Conrad has plenty of beach day spirit and keeps the hair off your neck on a hot day.

Get the Look: For this look, start with second day hair either from a wavy blow dry or natural air dry. Pull hair back into a high ponytail. To smooth flyways around the face, Sunshine recommends Pureology Density Definer Medium Hold Crème Wax. “Scrunch remaining product into the ends for added volume and shine. Lastly, take a piece from your pony and wrap itaround your elastic to hide it. Secure with a bobby pin underneath the pony to keep it hidden,” Sunshine says.

Tousled Waves

Why We Love It: From a day at the beach to the red carpet, Emma Watson’s tousled waves can go just about anywhere.

Get the Look: Start with clean, dry hair. Section hair into one-inch pieces and curl with a small barrel 1/4 to 3/4-inch curling iron, wrapping hair around the wand. Finish with a touchable strong hold hairspray like Sebastian Shaper Plus.

Naturally Gorgeous

Why We Love It: It’s natural and easy — what more can you want out of a beach day hairstyle?!

Get the Look: Embrace your hair’s natural style to get this look. Start with clean hair and apply Kerastase Spray à Porter Beach Texture Spray to towel dried hair. If needed, scrunch hair and then let air dry without touching your locks as this will only add frizz. Once dry, use a curling iron as needed to touch up small pieces.

Rumpled Bob

Why We Love It: Short hair looks effortlessly stylish with Leighton Meester’s naturally undone look.

Get the Look: Let your hair air dry before starting this look. Then, “scrunch in a dime-sized amount of Pureology Piecing Sculpt High Holding Sculpting Fiber Paste,” says Sunshine. “Using a two-inch barrel curling iron, spiral hair in a candy cane fashion around the iron, switching sections by winding forward and backward for a more natural effect. Only curl every other section if you have a natural wave, otherwise go ahead and curl all sections. Add another dime-sized amount of Piecing Sculpt and scrunch finished sections together.”

Braided Headband

Why We Love It: This youthful hairstyle perfectly captures the beach day attitude.

Get the Look: Start with clean, dry hair. Create an off-center part and French braid a section on each side of part. “The trick here is to leave out one of your three sections on each turn of your braid. To secure braid without using a hair band, use a long grip or bobby pin and slide directly in to the finished braid. Use two if necessary and crisscross for added security,” Sunshine says.
