Prom Down Do's

For formal occasions like the prom, down dos look just as charming as updos for hairstyle selections and for girls who feel more comfortable letting their hair down, there really is no decision. Girls do not have to style their hair in an updo to look elegant at the prom but can let long, flowing strands create beautiful hairstyles that mesh with different dresses. This also means that there is no worrying about updos coming loose from lots of dancing.

Why A Down Do for Prom

There are several reasons why girls choose to leave their hair down rather than in an updo. First there are just as many elegant styles if not more with many more complimentary styles for a lot of girls compared to updos. The locks can be styled with curls, left straight and sleek, or infused with light bends for a natural look. The front can be styled much like an updo including off center sweeps, pleating the hair back and tying with clips, and the addition of fringes and other details for softening effects. This allows for the creation of beautiful hairstyles that are really comfortable and relaxing for the prom which leads us to the other reason. Comfort and easier styling are other reasons why girls love prom down dos. Updo,, especially the more detailed ones, can take a lot more time to create and even a visit to the salon, whereas a simple down do can be done at home with some hairstyling tools. The down dos are also Hiarstyles with Volume and Curlsusually more comfortable to move and twirl around in for the prom and the many dances during the event.

This is a fine example for a down do for a prom that provides and gorgeous look. To style, first apply a product to add volume through damp hair and blow dry by flipping hair down. Use a boar bristle brush to add volume through the crown and locks. Apply a large barrel curling iron to create large curls and tousle with the hands to produce vibrant, bouncy locks.

This is an absolutely cute hairstyle for prom that is very complimentary to many facial shapes because of the framing curls and swept fringe over the forehead. This is definitely a down do that can outshine many updos at prom and is not too hard to style. Start by applying a styling gel to damp hair and using a paddle brush to smooth straight. Part a section from the crown and create the smooth, swept fringe at the front. Use a large barrel curling iron to create large curls through 3 inch sections of the hair and create the spirals.
