2008 Prom Hairstyles

Hot Hairstyles for Prom 2008

The prom season for 2008 brings a ton on trendy hairstyles available from award shows and other red carpet events. Most proms are held after March and ladies still have plenty of time to find the matching hairstyles for their unique look but the earlier the choice the better. Young ladies will have a vast selection of hairstyles to choose from ranging in length, color, texture, and additional features. The numerous hairstyles allow girls to select the perfect prom hairstyles to match individual face shapes and dresses. Hairstyles should definitely compliment the entire appearance and one that matches well with the dress will make a beautiful choice. Young ladies all have different hair lengths and there are plenty of hairstyles in each length that are creative styles for a gala like the prom. Short hairstyles that are popular for 2008 include the crop and the bob which can bring out more feminine features. Medium hairstyles that are great for prom include the sleek look and the addition of curls. Longer hair can be placed in fancy updos or left flowing like the trendy Farrah Fawcett hairtsyle. Now lets look at some prime 2008 prom hairstyles.

Ideas for 2008 Prom Hairstyles

Smooth, Short Hairstyles

When it comes to shorter hairstyles for formal occasions, there are a number of ways of producing the right effect. Here, the smoother, sleeker hairstyle is displayed because it produces a very glamorous look. The two hairstyles shown, show varying ways of styling to produce cute looks. The first is a creation by Jamison Shaw Salon and features a very fine look by smoothing the hair into wider sections and sweeping the front over the forehead. The sides are styled close to the face and really create an incredible softening feature which makes it an excellent choice for many women. Styling is not hard either by using a paddle brush to smooth out the front and adding a little volume at the top. A flat iron can be used to style out the edges. The other hairstyle is worn by British pop star Sarah Harding of the group Girls Aloud. She has donned some wonderful short hairstyles and this look is a more upscale style fitting for the prom. This shorter hairstyle is similar to the first but the sides are combed back behind the ears. Either method of styling offers a good choice for 2008 prom hairstyles.

Medium Curls

Medium length hair is very versatile as shown by the next two hairstyle photos. The first medium hairstyle for prom is worn by Nicole Richie who wears some of the best looking medium hairstyles. Here she enhances the hairstyle by adding light curls through the locks and a sweeping fringe. The hairstyle is extremely easy to create using a curling iron, paddle brush, and some hair gel to add some extra definition. The hairstyle offers a nice formal touch that should match most prom dresses with ease. The other style shows how to change up medium length hair by pinning it back and creating a half updo. The hair is still sleek at the front but with no fringe and the locks are brushed and pinned at the back near the nape of the neck. The ends are defined by styling the locks first before pinning back. This is an ultra cute hairstyle many women would not think of and could be a prom gem.

Long Flowing Locks

Having long, lovely hair is always a plus and young ladies with long hair have many ways of styling for the prom. One is the Farrah Fawcett hairstyle that uses light flicks of the ends of the locks to produce a free moving look not bunched up by curls. The hairstyle picture shows a simple off center part of the hair with different flicks of the tips of the locks. The hairstyle is great for fine, flat hair and adds more dimensions and an appearance of volume. The style is very simple to achieve as well by first using a barrel brush to blow dry the ends upward and then using a flat iron to smooth out the edges and curl the tips outward. The other long hairstyle is a classic look that never fails to produce an outstanding display. Combining long, curled locks and a sweeping fringe seems to always look great. Here is just one of the many ways this is done as the hair features the swept fringe and tighter curls. For events like prom, these long flowing hairstyles are definitely plus choices.

Half-Updo

The half-updo will always work as a prom hairstyle but the one chosen here offers a unique variation. The hairstyle is worn by Keira Knightley and feature hair that is styled very close to the face. The front features blunt bangs that soften up many facial features and the back is left in a messy tie up for an opposite effect. The hairstyle fits for formal occasions and does not feature the high volume many half updos have. The hairstyle is still very effective for formal galas like the prom.
