I recently jumped on the summer bandwagon and had a Keratin Complex Express Blowout treatment done on my hair. I have waited to post a review until after a little vacation to South Florida to really test the treatment out! All in all, I have to say that I am more than pleased with what this product has done for my hair and for me personally.
I have medium-length, super thick hair that is not naturally curly but not naturally straight either. Before the Keratin Complex treatment, if I did not blow-dry and straighten my hair, it was a frizzy, unattractive wavy mess. Even when straightened, the minute I ran into any humidity I kissed my hard earned styled hair goodbye.
With the Keratin Complex treatment, I am able to let my hair air dry and straighten it in half the time. If I do need to blow dry it, it doesn’t take near as long because I am not trying so hard to dry it straight. I have cut back on my heat styling considerably and my hair is silky, smooth and just plain pretty! Whether I wear it straight or curl it, my hairstyle is shiny, frizz-free and appears healthier than before. The treatment was fairly simple and worth every penny for this frizzy haired girl that lives in the constant humidity of The ‘Ol South!
Step 1 – The stylist washed my hair three times with a clarifying shampoo to remove all product buildup.
Step 2 – She carefully combed my hair out straight then divided it into a number of small sections.
Step 3 – The stylist then took each small section and painted the Keratin Complex product onto each section (in the same fashion you get your hair highlighted) and combed the product through each section with a fine comb.
Step 4 – Each section was then carefully and tediously blow-dried straight.
Step 5 – An extra hot Keratin Complex flat iron was then used to straighten each section of hair and seal the product in.
Step 6 – The stylist recommended I refrain from washing my hair for a minimum of eight hours (I waited 24) and I was done!
The Express Blowout lasts up to six weeks and cost me $140 at this particular salon. Keep in mind this price is based on the amount of product used on your hair. The longer and thicker your hair is, the price may go up. You can pay more ($200+) for a more intense treatment that lasts up to three months.
I will definitely invest in the full treatment at the beginning of Summer 2012. The idea of a frizz and heat styling-free summer makes me AND my hair VERY happy! Thank you Keratin Complex for this great, formaldehyde-free miracle worker!
