Medium Hairstyles - Curled Locks

Adding curls and waves to hairstyles
Welcome to part one of the series of medium hairstyles where we delve into different looks. This section features hair that is styled
straight with the addition of varying degrees of curls to create very unique styles. Medium hair length is a favorite of many women
because of it's versatility and adaptability to change without being too drastic. By adding some curls to medium hair, the whole texture
can be change and the whole look will look different. Adding small waves to the hair will create a beach ready hairstyle while adding
bigger curls will create a very contrasting look. The three hairstyles here show unique ways of styling medium length hair by adding
curls.

Minimal curls and roots
The first hairstyle features Christina Applegate with roots showing and some light curls at the ends
of the locks. The darker roots are shown easily with the mid-part and the hair is styled smooth from the crown to a little ways down
the hair length. The hair is then curled with either a curling iron or even a flat iron to create lighter waves at the ends. The ends of the
locks can be tousled and a finishing spray can be used to finish off the look. One of the key parts of the hairstyle is the front strands that
come over part of the forehead which creates better facial framing. This is a medium hairstyle that can be worn everyday or to special occasions very
easily.

Longer medium curls
The next medium hairstyle belongs to bombshell Jessica Biel who has rocked this particular
style many times. Like the previous hairstyle, this one is of the same mold with a simple mid-part with hair length falling a little
bit past the shoulders. However, this hairstyle is not as smooth at the top and the curls are longer on the hair which gives a thicker
appearance along with more curls. The hair is styled in pretty much the same way with sections of hair and a curling iron. The front locks are
also styled across the forehead and stay closer to the face for good framing. The hair is tousled and more bunched but ultimately gives another
great, versatile look.

Lots of Curls and Shine
The hairstyles have gone from light curls and ends with this one with bigger curls and plenty
of shine. Sophia Bush is an outstanding model for this hairstyle especially with the darker brunette color that shines and brings out the
curls. The hair is parted slightly off center and a sleek fringe with curled tips is created. The rest of the hair is styled smooth from crown
to about one fourth of the hair length before applying the longer, textured curls which require more wraps around a large barrel curling iron. A
shine spray is definitely a good idea to bring out the curls more. This is a prime example of how curls can create unique and gorgeous hairstyles.
