There are many ways of styling long hair and the side ponytail, or down do hairstyle as I like to call it, is a very beautiful
long hairstyle that can be styled for everyday wear or with some minor changes, styled to look breath taking at any red carpet
event. This specialized hairstyle is not just tying the hair in a ponytail tail in the back, but features other styling methods to
create simple but desiring looks. This styling method for long hair even works for women with medium to short hair as well with
the assistance of extensions which mimic longer locks. The three celebrities below show why this hairstyle is very popular.

Simple, Sleek, and Curls
The first way of styling this down do is shown on the lovely Eva Longoria who shows
an elegant hairstyle that looks amazing. The hairstyle features an off center parting with the hair brushed smooth to one side and the tresses collected and pinned by the ear. Small, loose curls are added to the tresses and spaced to show individual strands. It is easy to see that her facial features are focus with the hair styled away from the face and tied to the side.

Wavy Locks and Swept Bangs
Here is another beautiful example of the side ponytail with a few minor additions to take it
from simple to more ravishing. Brittany Snow takes the simple style and pushes it with some extra improvements. The hair features sleek, swept bangs that brush slightly over the forehead and tendrils contrasting the
other side. The hair tied back in the ponytail tail here is looser and features some wavy texture. This is accomplished by letting the hair
dry with a diffuser and some light scrunching or using a small barrel iron and smaller sections of the hair. Using some gel to give the individual
strand some definition will finish off the look.

Country Music Awards Hairstyle
The final presentation of the side ponytail hairstyle is one worn by Carrie Underwood at
the 44th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards, a major red carpet event. The simple hairstyle presented at the start has become a vital part of a Greek goddess
presentation that matches the one shoulder strap dress. The hairstyle features a slightly off-center parting with the bangs styled to the same side as the side ponytail.
The hair is combed back in sections to the back and placed in a ponytail tail near the nape and brushed across the shoulder. The longer locks
are curled using either rollers or a large barrel iron and then bound and swept using a round brush. This is a hairstyle beautifully done
by the stylists in charge of making her look red carpet ready.
