Products: volumizing mousse for fine or medium hair, smoothing gel for coarse hair, root lift, Slick Works by Paul Mitchell, finishing hairspray, shine spray
Styling Steps:
1. Apply mousse or gel according to hair type.
2. Spray a small amount of root lift in the roots on top of the head.
3. Blow dry hair almost completely.
4. Using a large round brush, finish blow drying hair smoothing hair around brush and sliding brush down hair while blowing from roots to ends. Use hot air to dry the hair and a cool blast to make it look smooth. Leave brush in the roots at the crown and on top while drying to create more volume.
5. Following manufacturers’ instructions on label, apply a small amount of Slick Works from middle through ends.
6. Take large random sections in the back and curl bottom in spiral motion. Wrap ends around curling iron 1 ˝ to 2 times, releasing at 20-30 seconds depending on hair type and sliding the curling iron down as you release to stretch out the curl.
7. Pull through ends of curls with fingers to break them apart.
8. For bangs, smooth back and leave a little bit loose for volume. Secure with bobby pins or barrette.
9. Tease hair in the crown just a little bit and smooth over the top for more volume.
10. Spray completed style very lightly with finishing hairspray, then mist a very light layer of shine spray if necessary. If using shine spray, cover roots with your free hand to protect roots from product. Shine spray will make hair look greasy and limp if you use too much or get it in the roots.
