SHORT RETRO-DO: This style features longer layers throughout the top and shorter layers on bottom. Fringe pieces have been cut using a razoring technique to soften them up and make them look piecy. Cute!

Suitable for:

Face shapes: oval, square, round, heart, diamond

Hair texture: fine, medium or coarse

Hair density: thin, average to thick

Styling:

Maintenance: medium

Time: 10-15 minutes

Techniques: Blow dry

Products: volumizing mousse for fine or medium hair, smoothing gel for coarse hair, Slick Works by Paul Mitchell, finishing hairspray, Gloss Drops by Paul Mitchell

Styling Steps:

1. Apply mousse or gel according to hair type.
2. Follow instructions on the package label and apply a small amount of Slick Works. Put product only on ends of hair, then brush.
3. Blow dry hair almost completely.
4. Using large round brush, finish blow drying hair. Wrap hair around round brush and hit with hot air. Spray a little hairspray then let cool and slide brush out.
5. For the bang area, blow hair forward and slide brush right out as you go for less volume.
6. Tease hair in the crown just a little bit.
7. Spray the completed style with finishing hairspray to control fly away hairs, and add shine.
8. Pull Gloss Drops through tips of bangs, face framing, and pieces throughout back to make them look a little piecy. Do not get this product too close to your roots or your hair will appear limp and greasy.
