SHORT MOD CUT: This style is a total throwback to the 60s, but with a modern twist! The bangs and face framing blend in with the long front layers, and the back is tapered in close to the neck for a tight look. The platinum blonde highlights rock the style!

Suitable for:

Face shapes: oval, square, round, heart, diamond

Hair texture: fine, medium or coarse

Hair density: thin, average to thick

Styling:

Maintenance: low

Time: 5-10 minutes

Techniques: Blow dry and flat iron

Products: volumizing mousse for fine or medium hair, smoothing gel for coarse hair, root lift, Slick Works by Paul Mitchell, finishing hairspray, Gloss Drops by Paul Mitchell

Styling Steps:

1. Apply mousse or gel according to hair type.
2. Part the hair diagonally above the arch in the left eyebrow.
3. Spray in a small amount of root lift in the crown area.
4. Following directions on the package, apply a small amount of Slick Works from the middle through the ends of the hair.
5. Blow dry hair almost completely.
6. Using a large round brush, finish blow drying your hair. Wrap hair around brush, blow with hot air and slide the brush out. Let it cool as you slide the brush to smooth the hair.
7. Use a flat iron to straighten any pieces of hair that have wave or curl in them still.
8. Tease the hair in the crown area for more volume, then smooth over the top.
9. Spray the completed style with finishing hairspray to keep any fly away hairs down and to help maintain the shape.
10. Pull a small amount of Gloss Drops through the very ends.
