This style features a short, funky cut with tousled spikes at the back, transitioning into a sleeker front and fringe

Suitable for:

Face shape: Oval, square, diamond -shaped, heart-shaped

Hair texture: Fine to coarse

Hair density: Fine to thick

Hair type: Straight to wavy

Styling:

Maintenance: Easy

Time: 10-15 minutes

Techniques: Blow-dry

Products: Mousse, hard-holding gel or styling paste ** Recommended Sebastian's "Threads" **, hairspray

Styling Steps:

1. Apply mousse.

2. Part hair above pupil of eye.

3. Blow-dry hair.

4. In the back, use fingers to finger-comb hair up and out. Use vent brush to smooth the rest of the hair.

5. Thoroughly emulsify *Threads* or styling paste through the hair, spiking hair up and out at back. At front, sculpt fringe to the side and smooth.

6. Finish with hairspray.

There are some great products out now that would do the trick!! Not a gel of any type, there is a product called "Bed Head" that puts out a molding putty that is used to spike hair this way!! I have used it and it works!

This hair is totally killer; but maybe it doesn't appeal to much ppl, coz the model for it is pretty old. It's edgy, but the model is not. The hair would look awesome, but the lady ruins it.

I have had this haircut and keep going back to it. I have fine, mid-thickness hair and it is the easiest cut I've ever had! The only thing that I don't like is having to put so much product in the back to make it spike, but that just means more frequent

Don't any cropped styles work with a round face? I'm already in my 30s so I don't want it to be too aging but it would work well with my retro 50s clothes style and I wouldn't have to set it. A crop would still have a retro feel on wash and go days. I know-I know Straight hair was a no go for mature ladies in the 50s which is why I added the word retro to 50s:-)
