FLUFFY AND FUNKY This is another quick and easy style that has a lot of pizzazz! This cut has bangs that are smoothed to one side and is very long with layers.
Suitable for:
Face shape: oval, round, square
Hair texture: fine to medium
Hair density: average to thick
Styling:
Time: 30-40 minutes
Techniques: covered band, rat, paddle brush, back combing comb with end prongs, bobby pins, curling iron
Products: firm styling gel, thermal setting spray, hairspray
Styling Steps:
1. Start with dry hair that has been prepped with a firm hold styling gel. (Gel applied when hair was damp.)
2. Smooth hair with paddle brush into a high ponytail.
3. Secure with a covered band.
4. Divide hair in the ponytail into sections and spray with thermal setting spray.
5. Curl with a large barrel curling iron.
6. Place a rat around the base of the ponytail and secure with bobby pins.
7. Back comb the ponytail slightly at the base.
8. Begin covering the rat with some of the hair from the ponytail and secure the hair with bobby pins.
9. Once rat is covered begin back combing the rest of the ponytail. *Tip: for this look, back comb the hair with longer fluid movements as opposed to short “egg beater” movements.
10. Once hair is back combed, begin arranging the curls and pinning where needed to give balance and a pleasing look.
11. Let curls spill over the side bend of the head.
12. Smooth bangs to the side with a small amount of texturizing paste and then hairspray into place.
13. Finish with hairspray all over the style to hold.
