SASSY SIMPLICITY! This style can be fairly easy to do. It works best on hair that is around shoulder blade length and doesn’t have too much layering. There is a long fringe that is parted on the side to give interest to the front of the style.
Suitable for:
Face shape: oval, round, square
Hair texture: fine, medium, course
Hair density: average to thick
Styling:
Time: 20-30 minutes
Techniques: paddle brush, covered band for pony tail, bobby pins
Products: prep hair with firm styling gel, gel wax, hairspray
Styling Steps:
1. Start with dry hair that has been prepped with a firm hold styling gel. (Gel applied when hair was damp)
2. Part hair on the side.
3. Section out bangs and clip out of the way.
4. Smooth all hair with a brush.
5. Spray hairspray on the brush and brush through hair once more and gather all the hair up into a pony tail.
6. Use a covered band to make a ponytail at the back of the crown, but do not pull all the ends through the ponytail. Make a big loop with the hair, leaving about 3-4” of the ends at the top of the ponytail that doesn’t get pulled through.
7. Fan the loop of hair out just a bit and pin the back of the loop (the part touching the head) to the head to keep it stable.
8. Direct the ends of the ponytail in a pleasing manner, to look like it is adding fullness and movement at the top crown area. Pin and spray as necessary.
9. Working with the fringe section now, curl the fringe going back from the face with a large barrel curling iron. Allow to cool a bit.
10. Brush the fringe back and then push it forward a bit to create a wave
11. Spray with hair spray and pin if necessary if length of fringe makes it necessary to do so.
12. Finish with a final spray of hairspray all over to hold.
