Sleek look with a tousled top: This is a look that works great for medium length hair that has longer layers on the top. A medium length bob with layers works well.

Techniques: blow dryer, paddle brush, smoothing iron (flat iron), bobby pins, hairpins
Products: firm styling gel, thermal setting spray, working spray, firm hold finishing spray
Styling Steps:
1. Apply styling gel to clean damp hair. Distribute evenly and well through hair.
2. Blow dry with a paddle brush to smooth the hair as you blow dry.
3. Part hair on the side, and leave the bang alone for now.
4. Part the hair at an angle at the top of the ear angling back to the crown. Repeat on the other side. Clip this hair out of the way for now.
5. Take the hair in the back and create a high ponytail.
6. Now take hair on the side and comb it back up towards the ponytail and pin by the ponytail.
7. Repeat on the remaining side. (You want to get away from the severity of a tight high ponytail)
8. Back comb on the top crown to give fullness and help fan out the hair on top.
9. Arrange hair in a pleasing manner, and bend the ends as needed with a flat iron of large curling iron.
10. Smooth bangs over to the side and tuck ends behind the hair.
11. Finish with a coat of hairspray all over to help hold hair.
