BEAUTIFUL CURLS AND LOTS OF THEM! (Variation of style #2) The haircut for this style has layers just on the ends and tapered ends at the front with a fringe that is very long as well. Layers begin about collar-bone level and flow to the back.
Suitable for:
Face shape: oval, square, round
Hair texture: fine to medium
Hair density: semi-thin, average to thick
Styling:
Time: 30-40 minutes
Techniques: blow dryer, paddle brush, large and medium size hot rollers, ornamental hairclip or bobby pins
Products: firm styling gel, curl defining crème, firm hair spray
Styling Steps:
1. Apply styling gel to clean damp hair.
2. Blow dry hair completely dry using a paddle brush.
3. Roll the top of the hair going back, using sub-sections that are no deeper than the size of the roller you are using. (*Tip – to get maximum lift and volume from your curls on top, over direct the strand forward as you’re rolling the hair onto the roller. This will make the roller sit directly on top of the sub-section, thereby giving maximum volume.)
4. Continue to set hair on rollers, taking care to not make the sub-sections too large. Keep sub-sections the size of the roller you are using. This ensures maximum volume and curls!
5. Allow hair to cool and carefully remove rollers.
6. Pick through the hair to break up the set, but don’t pick through too much. Every time you pick through a section, the curls will get more broken up, creating really BIG hair.
7. Apply a bit of curl defining crème to fingers and run through select curls to define them.
8. Take a bit of the hair on the sides and pull up towards the top and clip or pin. Make the curls from those ends work into the curls on the top to make it appear as it is the top.
9. Arrange the hair in a pleasing balanced manner.
10. Finish with hairspray to hold.
