FLIRTY WAVES: (a variation on style 4): This increased layer cut gives lots of fullness to the top as well as keeping fullness on the bottom of the style.
Suitable for:
Face shape: oblong, oval, diamond
Hair texture: fine, medium, course
Hair density: average to thick
Styling:
Time: 30+ minutes
Techniques: blow dryer, 1 ½” – 2” barrel curling iron OR large hot rollers, vent brush or rubber bristle sculpting/styling brush
Products: firm styling gel, defining crème, hairspray
Styling Steps:
1. Apply firm styling gel to clean damp hair. Distribute evenly and well throughout the hair.
2. Blow dry the hair completely dry.
3. Take a 1 ½” rectangular shaped section on top of the hair, and roll the ends with the iron or curlers all the way down to the scalp.
4. If using a curling iron, gently remove the iron from the curl, trying not to disturb the curl shape and let it cool in place.
5. Curl all hair in the same manner and allow it to cool.
6. Remove rollers if used.
7. Brush through the hair using either a vent brush, or a sculpting brush with rubber bristles.
8. Brush the top towards the back and allow hair to fall in a natural part.
9. Finger through the hair with a bit of defining crème to help waves take a pleasing shape.
10. On one side of the head, leave a tendril from the fringe hanging down and take a piece of the side and loosely drape it behind the hear and secure with a bobby pin or an ornamental clip.
11. On the other side, take the fringe and the side and secure it behind the ear.
12. Use a large real or silk flower and secure to the hair with bobby pins underneath the flower.
13. Apply hairspray to help hold all night!
