SMOOTHLY ELEGANT: This cut features slight layering on the bottom lengths of the hair and slight tapering around the front for movement.

Face shape: oval, oblong
Hair texture: fine, medium or course

Styling:
Time: 20-30 minutes
Techniques: paddle brush, blow dryer, flat iron (smoothing iron)
Products: root lifter, volumizing foam, shine spray, hair spray
Styling Steps:
1. Apply root lifter to the roots of clean damp hair.
2. Apply volumizing foam to the shaft and ends of the rest of the hair. (Use smoothing gel on course hair.)
3. Blow dry the hair with a paddle brush to help ensure smoothness.
4. Once hair is almost dry, part hair on the side and complete drying with brush.
5. Use a flat iron to smooth hair and add a slight bend to the ends of the hair. (The amount of bend that you do at the wrist while flat ironing will determine the amount of bend or curl on the ends of the hair.)
6. Brush hair on the “heavy side” to the back.
7. Tuck hair behind the ear on the “light side.”
8. Mist with shine spray.
9. Finish with hairspray to help hold hair to the side, and keep hair tucked behind the ear.
