SIMPLE FULLNESS AND SOFTLY WAVED ENDS ADD DRAMA! The haircut for this style shows layers just on the ends and tapered ends at the front with a fringe that is very long as well. Layers begin about collar-bone level and flow to the back.
Suitable for:
Face shape: oval, square, round, diamond *(not appropriate for high or wide foreheads)
Hair texture: fine to medium
Hair density: average to thick
Styling:
Time: 30+ minutes
Techniques: blow dryer, paddle brush, 1 ˝” – 2” round (radial) ceramic brush, rat tail backcombing comb
Products: root lifter, styling gel, thermal setting spray, shine spray, hairspray
Styling Steps:
1. Apply root lifter at roots of hair and styling gel through the rest of clean damp hair. Distribute evenly and well.
2. Dry hair upside down with blow dryer and paddle brush. Smooth the hair as you dry to ensure fewer flyaways.
3. When hair is about 90% dry, flip hair back up and brush through with paddle brush.
4. Spray the ends with thermal setting spray for a bit of extra hold on the ends.
5. Begin using the round brush on the ends of the hair to help add a bit of wave to the ends. Do the same on the fringe of the hair, rolling just the fringe back.
6. Once hair is dry, and waves are styled into the ends, use rat tail comb to pick up the top front section of the hair and back comb behind the hair line. (About a 2”by 3” section of hair). Don’t let the tips of the comb show through the front hairline as you back comb. Keep the comb behind the section of hair.
7. Continue to back comb through the entire top of the hair.
8. Smooth the hair into place, combing the top back and off to the side a bit.
9. Lightly spray the hair with spray shine.
10. Finish with hairspray to help hold style.
