TURN HEADS WITH CURLS! If you’ve got straight hair, patience and lots of time, you can create this gorgeous look and amaze your friends! The hair cut has long layers in it to keep the style from getting a “triangular” look when the hair is all curled. There are a variety of ways to create this style depending on the tools you have.
Suitable for:
Face shape: oblong, oval, heart, diamond
Hair texture: fine, medium or course
Hair density: average to thick
Styling:
Maintenance: high
Time: 30+ minutes
Techniques: IGIA thermal hair setters, foam spiral curlers or curling iron
Products: defining gel, thermal setting spray, glossing drops, hairspray
Styling Steps:
1. Apply defining gel to damp hair.
2. Dry hair.
3. Apply thermal setting spray section by section as you curl hair.
4. If using heated spiral curlers, carefully smooth the ends and wrap a few times around the end of the rod, then start spiraling up the rod all the way to the scalp. Curl entire head in this manner. If using a curling iron, section hair on top of head out of the way, and start at the nape of your head, and curl hair with the setting spray on it. Remove iron and use a clippie to clip curl to head to allow it to cool in place. It will look like a roller curl, but without the roller! Work your way up the head until all hair is curled and clipped to head.
5. Allow curls to cool completely.
6. Remove curlers or clippies, depending on which method you used.
7. Apply a couple drops of glossing drops to your hands.
8. Gently rake through the curls with your fingers to separate curls. *Caution: the more you “rake” the more the curls will separate and the bigger the hair will get!
9. Apply hairspray to hold.
