LONG SOFT FLIP: This style has life and a swing all its own. The layering makes the hair look full and makes it bounce when you walk. The bangs sweep off to the side and show off the eyes in the most flattering way!

Suitable for:

Face shapes: oval, square, round, heart, diamond

Hair texture: fine, medium or coarse

Hair density: average to thick

Styling:

Maintenance: medium

Time: 15-20 minutes

Techniques: Blow dry and flat iron

Products: volumizing mousse for fine or medium hair, smoothing gel for coarse hair, Straight Works by Paul Mitchell, finishing hairspray, and shine spray

Styling Steps:

1. Apply mousse or gel according to hair type.
2. Part hair diagonally above the arch in the left eyebrow.
3. Blow dry hair completely.
4. Following instructions on the package label, apply a small amount of Straight Works from the middle of the hair through the ends.
5. Section hair in horizontal layers.
6. Starting in the back on the bottom, flat iron all the hair layer by layer, flipping the ends out as the flat iron comes off the ends of the hair.
7. When flat ironing bangs, start at the roots on the left and slide the flat iron down and across from left to right across the forehead.
8. Spray the completed style with finishing hairspray all over, and follow with a fine mist of shine spray on ends, using your hand to cover root area so it doesn’t get a greasy look.

Do you have to hold your head sideways like that for this style?

How do you get the front to whisp over like that? I have very straight hair.

After you part your hair to the side, take a round boar hair brush and wrap the ends of the front of your hair around it, curling up and to the side. If you use the hair dryer on low with high heat as you shape it up and then use hair spray, it'll stay that way!
