LONG LAYERED FLIP: This style features short to long flipped out razored layers. The layers start out fairly short to make this style very sassy and to give the hair more life and movement. The bangs are short and not too heavy. So fiesty!

Suitable for:

Face shapes: oval, square, round, heart, diamond

Hair texture: fine, medium or coarse

Hair density: average to thick

Styling:

Maintenance: high

Time: 20-30 minutes

Techniques: Blow dry and flat iron

Products: volumizing mousse for fine or medium hair, smoothing gel for coarse hair, Straight Works by Paul Mitchell, finishing hairspray and Foaming Pomade by Paul Mitchell

Styling Steps:

1. Apply mousse or gel according to hair type.
2. Part hair above the arch in the left eyebrow.
3. Blow dry hair completely dry.
4. Following the instructions on the package label, apply a small amount of Straight Works to hair from middle through ends. Be careful not to use too much or to get it close to the roots or your hair will look greasy.
5. Section the hair in horizontal layers. Starting in the back on the bottom, comb the hair out and slide the flat iron through the hair. As you move up from layer to layer, start flipping the ends out when you pull the flat iron through the ends.
6. Use a small amount of finishing hairspray to hold the style.
7. To get the piecy looking ends, use Foaming Pomade or some other type of light pomade so you don’t weigh the hair down. Don’t put it in all your hair, just very lightly in the ends and pull them out.
