FORMAL UPDO BUN: This formal updo is very soft and sophisticated. Appropriate for weddings or the prom, this classic look is good for almost any age!

Products: Volumizing mousse for fine or medium hair, smoothing gel for coarse hair, Paul Mitchell Slick Works, finishing hairspray, shine spray or gloss
Styling Steps:
1. Apply mousse or gel according to manufacturers’ instructions.
2. Apply small amount of Slick Works from halfway down the hair through the ends.
3. Blow dry hair completely.
4. Smooth hair back into ponytail and split in half. Long hair is necessary to complete this style.
5. Loop top half of ponytail upward and use bobbypins to secure to scalp. Let the ends hang down and pin them down, just below the ponytail holder to one side, using bobbypins.
6. Take the remaining part of the ponytail and wrap it over the bottom half of the loop you just created.
7. Tuck the ends under the opposite side and secure with bobbypins.
8. Sweep bangs back toward style. If shorter, then spray with finishing spray to hold in place. Pin longer bangs back under edge of bun using bobbypins and spray entire style with finishing hairspray to keep down any fly away hairs.
