2007 MTV Music Awards Hairstyles

The 2007 MTV Video Music Awards(VMAs) were held in Las Vegas at the Palms Casino and as usual brought stars from both the music and movie scene together to celebrate. The award show never fails to bring some hot hairstyles as well as show off some trendy looks for the season. This year, some past stars were present showing off new hairstyles and some new stars in the scene like the girls from the MTV show “The Hills” presented some different hairstyles as well. Now lets take a closer look at those hot hairstyles.

"The pompadour "

The pompadour hairstyle was a popular choice at VMAs this year with a couple of women adding the high brush back of the hair to their hairstyles. Audrina Patridge styled a higher roll for her hairstyle with the hair wrapped in a bun in the back. This really opens up her face and brings out key facial features. Shanna Moakler’s hairstyle at the MTV Video Music Awards is a higher and wider variation with the hair tied at the back. Her hairstyle is not as well done as the next celebrity, which is Hayden Panettiere who was stylish with a small pleat at the front with the hair left flowing. This is a great way to style the pompadour hairstyle as to not draw away much from the facial features and to give a softer touch. Hayden did an excellent job matching the hairstyle to the outfit here.

For updos at the 2007 VMAs, one standout hairstyle was the one worn by Nicole Scherzinger which featured plenty of volume. The hairstyle features several sections of hair that is brushed back towards the crown and also has a complimentary fringe that softens the overall look. Not too many can wear the hairstyle but it is a very nice selection for the award show and to match the dress.

Two fresh hairstyles that left an impression were worn by Paris Hilton and Nelly Furtado who both presented new looks. The hairstyle does not do Paris justice and seems more like a hairstyle for someone in their 50s rather than a young socialite. She has styled her hair much better in the past. Nelly Furtado usually shows off her long hair either sleek or with curls but here she has changed up the color and combined it with a swept fringe and light waves through the tresses. It is a nice change up for Nelly and she still looks great.

The last group of hairstyles presented here feature hair longer in length and show how to create different looks. Megan Fox continues to look great with her simple, sleek hairstyle. The hairstyle features a simple mid-part with the tresses sleek, smooth, and shiny. Simple hairstyles are just as attractive as other ones. Ashlee Simpson shows how to add smaller waves to the hairstyle. The hairstyle is another mid-part with light curls through the tresses with are very easy to create by twirling the hair around a curling iron. The hair is also framed closer to the face for an added touch. Jennifer Garner probably had the best look of the night with the combination of makeup placed on right, a fashionable dress, and an outstanding hairstyle. The off center part with the slightly swept fringe and natural looking waves through the tresses form a gorgeous look.

There were plenty more hairstyles both good and bad at the award shows and these were some of the standouts.
