First I would like to wish all our visitors a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I love this time of year because of all the holiday spirit and all the parties you get to attend. Hairstyles during the holidays need to look great as well. There are those Christmas parties for work, with the family, and then that New Year’s bash all in a matter of weeks. Here are some useful tips that can help keep your hair looking great for this holiday season.

1. Keep hair simple, simple hairstyles can still look very fashionable at holiday get togethers. Let your hair down and add a few curls and that should look fine.

2. For updos and more stylish looks, add a heat protectant and moisture sealing product before styling and finish off with frizzing and fly-away protecting products.

3. Because winter has dry, cold air, protect hair when possible and use deep leave in conditioners to help keep hair moisturized. Keep the ends especially moisturized to prevent split ends.

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. It is officially Christmas season and let the shopping begin. I was browsing around at some websites and happened to find this picture and was wondering to myself who this was. After some reading I found that this picture was of Tara Reid, which shocked me. She definitely is reworking herself from the simple straight hair to a nice side swept fringe with wavy tresses. The hairstyle is so refreshing and a good choice for her in starting over and the look is absolutely radiant. This is what a great hairstyle can do for you.

Just saw the new Bond movie and it was actually really good. I did not see what the big fuss was about over Daniel Craig playing Bond. I also love the new Bond girls. Eva Green looks great with the sleek brunette hair as does the beautiful Caterina Murino. I think both are great additions to the Bond movie and both have some great hairstyles I have seen. Eva gives off a girl next door look with her dark locks while Caterino has that mysterious dark hair look. Both look great in the movie and the movie premieres.

I wrote a post earlier about the switch from brunette to blonde hair and in this one I want to show a switch from brunette to dark hair. I just noticed these two celebrities had switched their hair color and they both look very good in a darker shade. Hilary Duff and Lindsay Lohan’s switch to a darker shade both create a very good look as the dark hair compliments their style and features. The dark hair color is a good change up for the two celebs. There is a major impact in style created by the color change and women considering a color change should definitely be ready for this.

Celebrity stylist Ellin LaVar has gotten her own show on WE, Women’s Entertainment channel called Hair Trauma. I got a chance to check out the first episode and it was really interesting. I am hoping to see some celebrity appearances on the show, maybe even Oprah. The show is interesting though and I would recommend it but not as good as the hair show on Bravo. This has to be one of the most interesting hair related things I have heard about in a long time. A friend mention this and after some research I found that it was actually true. There is this company in the UK called Beautiful Vending that has set up these vending machines called Straight Up that have ceramic irons that can be used to get rid of frizz and straighten the hair. The machines are already set up in a few places in London like shopping malls and clubs. You can actually fix your hair at a club or during a shopping trip. Hmm, marvelous idea. Here are some images of the vending machine. Wonder if this will work and if it does will it eventually come to the US.

As mention in one of my earlier blogs, Ken Paves and Jessica Simpson have joined for his new company for hair extensions. I actually saw this on the home shopping network and the price of the extensions is not that bad either at about $77 for the short clip on and $87 for the longer one with around $8 to $9 for shipping. This averages to under $100 for a decent clip on hair extension which is pretty good. Here are some pictures of Jessica modeling the hair extensions I believe. For those who don’t have great fine hair or want to mix a few different looks in, this is a good choice as I don’t think a guy like Ken Paves with a reputable name in Hollywood would produce crappy products.

Hey everyone, just got a chance to watch The Departed and have to say this is a great movie. Talk about star packed, this movie has some hotties in it and they all have some great hairstyles. Unfortunately all the great hairstyles here belong to the men, so sorry ladies. These three actors are all great and it is great and suprising to see three big names in one movie, a very good movie. The three actors I am talking about are Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon, and Mark Wahlberg. There are other stars in the movie the ones I love are these three. These guys can probably be ranked on Top 50 hot hollywood guys on some list. What I am pointing out is each of these men’s hairstyles. Leonardi has a great rougher look in this movie with a patchy short cut with some matching hair on the chin. A great look, a lot of guys are wearing now to counter the metro-style. Matt Damon has his signature hairstyle which is a short crew cut, not too short that is spiked up at the front. What is interesting here is Mark Wahlberg hairstyle in the movie which matches how a cop often looks in older movies. The hairstyle is slick and combed to one side which makes him look fitting for a detective. Well, all three are great looking guys with great hairstyles and for guys out there wanting to try a style, here are 3 great ones…

I got a chance to browse and view a little bit from Fashion week and spotted two fabolous stars who seemed to be very relaxed during that day. Driving caps have been great choices for those throw back days when fixing up a hairstyle is not a priority and wearing an entirely easy going and relaxing outfit is the must. I have had plenty of days where just throwing on a driving cap or a sun hat was the norm for a day of outdoor shopping or a quick lunch and drive around town. The image here shows two very relaxed, beautiful women, Janet Jackson and Hilary Duff. The outfit and styles show how a simpler look with a cap can be very appealing. I love the look and it is a great option for those days when your hair just doesn’t want to work with you. Keep outfits simple and beautiful here because the driving caps match better with this style.

I think Jessica Simpson is one of the prettiest woman out there and feel for her. After watching her on the Ellen DeGeneres, she really has a huge point. I mean, it is hard enough to find someone but I can not even imagine having to find someone after a huge media breakup. I mean every guy you have lunch with, are introduced to, or even just talk about becomes a potential date that is heavily covered by the media. Well on to her great hairstyle. i love this short cut. She does have some great looks using extensions but this short one looks just as great. Kudos to Ken Paves for being her stylist and starting their own line of hair extensions. What makes this haircut great is the textured, wavy locks that open up the face and create a nice frame. A great hairstyle for an appearance on the  Ellen DeGeneres show.
