The 2007 MTV Movie Awards brings together some beautiful stars and some gorgeous looking hairstyles. Two of those hairstyles belong to Mandy Moore and Megan Fox who both had two unique chignons. Megan Fox’s hairstyle features a off-center part of the front with the hair swept to the side with some tendrils hanging off the front. The hair is combed and braided in the back into a loop at the nape. Mandy Moore’s hairstyle features a similar part of the front hair but with nothing in the front to take away from the facial features. The rest of the hair is combed to the back and set in loops at the nape as well. Both are gorgeous ways of creating an updo.

Well Bravo’s great hair styling show Shear Genius is over and all the episodes have been great. The three finalist Anthony, Ben, and Daisy all made a superb effort in the final competition. I was thinking Daisy would pull it off because she has created some fantastic looks through almost every episode and Anthony was the quiet one that came up big in the end. Congratulations to him for winning the $100,000 from Nexxus, the apprenticeship, and chance to style for Allure magazine. All three did great in the final competition and all three are good stylist. Congratulations to Bravo as well for a very entertaining show and hopefully more of this series to come.

For those who haven’t watched the Bravo TV show Shear Genius, catch up and watch the old episodes or check out the Shear Genius website. The stylist are really creative and I wish I could be on a show like that. Tabatha and Tyson are really the two I am cheering for the most. Here is a sample hairstyle from a red carpet hairstyle episode. The hairstyle is for Vanessa Williams and the look is really soft and safe. The hairstyle features a nice bun in the back and very complimentary sweeps in the front. My advice is for the hairstyle is to sweep one side more to the back and not create a triangle shape in the front. This will open up more of the face yet still softens up the facial area. This hairstyle should fit well with most ladies.

Prom time is fast approaching and girls everywhere are getting ready with their dresses, shoes, accessories, and of course hairstyles. For salons, it is one of the busier times of the year as girls often come in several times just to make sure that everything is planned out perfectly for that perfect hair do. When it comes to updos, there are several ways of styling the hair including the two popular ones here. The first hairstyle is a looser look with more volume while the second is a swept, sleek one. The first hairstyle is better for many facial shapes as it adds more distraction of facial features. The second offers a different appeal and brings out more from facial features like the eyes, nose, and lips. Both are good selections and it is pretty much up to personal choice. Hope this helps prom goers in deciding on some hairstyle choices.

Not too many people have perfect hair as seen in commercials or red carpet events and for those of us that have dry, thin, oily, or other hair issues there are several methods that could help. Ok Ok, the no under garments thing was surprising but the shaving all your hair off is quite a bit shocking. I thought it was a movie role or some stunt but it seems that it is real. It is still shocking that she shaved off all her hair. I know she has been having some issues but there are alot of other ways to work around problems. Note to all you girls out there and if you are going to shave off all your hair, please, please donate it to those in need.

Young girls are already getting ready for their proms and one of the most important parts is planning on how to do their hair. Well hopefully these ladies have been keeping an eye out for the award shows and red carpet events that have been chaining together month after month with tons of beautiful hairstyles on display. Latest hairstyles has a nice selection of pictures from the award shows and here is two I really like that would be perfect for prom. Here are two great looks from Jessica Biel and Hayden Panettiere which show different ways of styling the front as well as the back of the hair. Both hairstyles are great options for different facial shapes as well and should give prom goers some idea of elegant looks.
I mention in an earlier post about Beautiful Vending, a Scottish company that has created vending style machines with hair straighteners on them. These vending machines were already being used in a few locations in the UK and now maybe comign to the US starting in New York, of course. David Ganulan is reported in having bought many of these vending machines and is looking to place them in clubs and other venues starting in New York. It seems the machines will offer a minute of power for a dollar or so. I love the idea of fixing my hair when I am out and about but still think about the potential risks of using the tongs and the cleanliness of it as I do not even like sharing my hair styling tools with anyone. Well, we will all see if this becomes a huge hit.

There are so many hair reality series now that it is hard to keep up. I discovered another one that looks very interesting. The show Tease on oh! Oxygen is a reality series that brings together new hairstylists in a competition. I think it is a crossover of the popular Iron Chef series where to chefs face off who can produce better foods. Here it is a contest who can produce better hairstyles. The show sounds very interesting. Visit the official site of Tease.
