Headbands and Scarves for Hair
Headbands and scarves are great options for changing up a hairstyle. Adding a headband or scarf to a hairstyle can create a variety of styles including chic and retro ones.
The addition of these two hair accessories can also be used for those days when fixing one's hair is not a priority or a a savior for those bad hair days. Headbands have a
double role of taking attention away from the hair like covering bad hair day areas and greasy roots as well as being a very fashionable accessory. There are different ways
to wear hair scarves as well to create different looks. Options include wearing over the crown, covering the front of the hair, and as a separator between the front bangs and
the crown. There are many different looks that can be produced using headbands and many celebrities show a variety of looks.
Princess of Head Scarves
Paris Hilton is the princess of headbands and scarves. She can be seen wearing these hair accessories on everyday shopping trips to featured events. Paris knows how
to wear headbands and make a splashing fashion statement at the same time. In this image, Paris shows off a volumous hairstyle with curled ends. The headband is tied
right over the crown and the front bangs are slightly swept. The headband creates sections that look great in this style. This is just one of many ways Paris has used
a headband or scarf for some great looks.
The Headband No No
Headbands and scarves are meant to compliment a hairstyle and when worn correctly, creates a very fashionable look. Wearing a headband right over the front might
have been a favored look at sometime but is not very hot these days. This way of wearing the headband is more for bad hair days or going for a jog. The front of the hair
is totally covered and there is not enough volume around the crown. The headband does not really produce a better looking hairstyle and there are much better ways of
using these hair accessories.  |
Hair Scarf for Updo
Here is an example of an updo using a hair scarf to create a very great look. The hair scarf does not comprimise the elegant appearance of the updo
but is a good compliment to it. Hilary Duff uses this pink hair scarf to not only match her dress and makeup but also as s separator between the swept bangs and
the updo itself. Sometimes the addition of a hair scarf like this can actually look better than not having one. This is a prime example of this and a great
hairstyle by Hilary.

Headband with Plait
This is a great example of a different way of using the headband to compliment a hairstyle. Without the headband, this hairstyle on
Fergie of the Black Eyed Peas consists of plaited front and a half updo with wavy locks. The headband is a nice medium between the plait and the crown with plenty of
volume. This is a great combination as it matches the dress as well as the hairstyle. This is one of the different ways of wearing a headband.
