2008 Fall Runway Hairstyles
By Julie Lystin
The fall season is full of fashion weeks from New York to London and the catwalk is full of beautiful hairstyles. For the fall, the models usually change from the wavy, curly, and loose tresses to more polished, sleek looks. Hair color is often changed to match the season and darker, richer colors are infused with highlights, lowlights, paneling, and other techniques to create fresh looks. Depending on the individual designer’s fashion show, there is usually a theme and there are always a few designers that stick to the sleek look and others with that rich color of autumn. Take a look below at some of the runway models and the hairstyles worn at fall fashion shows year after year.
Fall Hairstyles at Designer Shows
Long and Sleek

The sleek hairstyle in this photo of a model from a Herve Leger fashion show is a typical one that has been used many times and will continually be used because of the appearance it creates. The hairstyle is parted right down the middle and the long tresses are styled smooth and along the face which really brings attention to the facial area and what the model is wearing. The hairstyle is simple yet very alluring but not enough to detract from the clothing which is what is really be showcased. Check out past and present fall fashion shows and there are a ton of looks similar to this hairstyle.
Autumn Colors

Colors in the fall have a rich flow with darker shades more abundant and lighter shades mixed in with darker tones for a cooling effect. The hair color on this model from a Miss Sixty’s fashion show is a shade that can be compared to the dark yellow, almost golden color of leaves that have changed from green. The color has that perfect complement of light hues and dark ones for a flattering look for the hairstyle. Lots of similar color combinations from the whole color spectrum are applied to fall fashion show hairstyles including dark reds and mocha brunettes.
Short Mocha Hair

Short hairstyles are less in numbers than long and medium lengths in most fashion shows but the models with these cuts can stand out more as well. The short hairstyle uses a rich, mocha colored shade that really adds a balance to the shorter length. The fringe is a must with this cut as it softens and compliments her appearance in one stroke. The smooth and shine of the color are also a plus. Deep rich colors like this one are favorites for the fall season on the runway and off.
