Get The Zohan Approved Silky-Smooth Hair!
Zohan’s best line? “I just want to make people silky-smooth!” Okay, so you don’t personally want to be silky-smooth, you just want silky-smooth hair. How?
- Start with a fresh trim in your ends. Nothing looks worse than straightened hair with straw-like ends! Get those things chopped off and start fresh. Your hair will be much easier to brush and will look 100% better.
- Use a conditioning shampoo, or one specially formulated to smooth hair, like Biolage by Matrix Smoothing Shampoo (16 oz approx. $13.99) or Sleektress Sumptuous Smoothing Shampoo by Nexxus (13.5 oz approx. $8.99).
- Finish in the shower with a daily conditioner also formulated for silky-smooth hair, like Redken’s Smooth Down Conditioner made with macadamia oil, candelilla wax, and cationic refiners. This fab little list of ingredients provides extreme smoothing and a long-lasting, humidity-resistant, frizz-free finish (8.5 oz approx. $12.99). Tasty!
- Before blow drying, towel dry hair and apply product to protect your freshly washed mane. Try Super Skinny Relaxing Balm by Paul Mitchell. They claim it not only helps cut dry time drastically, but also smoothes and conditions and resists humidity. Am I kidding? Nope. This product is absolutely yummy! (6.8 oz approx. $13.99)
- Blow dry hair from roots to ends using a large paddle brush or large round brush. And don’t go using a ratty old brush, either! If your brush is old, the bristles can split and catch on your hair, causing your hair to split too. Bad news! Spend a few bucks and get a new brush. While blow drying, separate hair into sections and blow each section dry. This helps control the hair and lets you get better tension on it while drying so you get a smoother finish.
- Before you flat-iron, use a product like Redken’s Outshine 01 Anti-Frizz Polishing Milk to add super shine and clean definition. You only need a tiny bit, but it will add that extra bit of polish you need to get Zohan approved silky-smooth hair! (3.4 oz approx. $13.99)
- Invest in a great flat iron! Try a Sedu. Pricey, but good quality. Section hair off into 1-1 ½” sections and slide flat iron from roots to ends. Use a lighter heat setting to get a softer straight look, or a little bit hotter to get the sleek look. Be careful not to burn your hair!
- If you use quality products and tools, your hair will look better and last longer throughout the day. You will be so much happier with the results, and because you use less of each product, you won’t end up spending a lot more money – you will just look like you do!
