How do I make my hair shine? |

Summer is just a month or two a way and you may be anxious to getting your hair back to a nice soft shine. The summer months tend to dry, fry and dull your hair due to sun damage, humidity, swimming, etc. So what makes your hair shine? Hair cuticles (outer layer of hair) tend to open up under summer conditions so now your focus will be on closing up your cuticles to get back that natural gloss. Many people get the misconception that moisturizing shampoos and conditions help shine your hair; in affect they do the opposite. All this does is create hair build up. Here are some tips on getting your hair shiny:
Rinse your hair in cold water. This technique will close and smooth out your hair cuticle. I recommend you follow this up with a deep conditioning (about once a week)
Shampoo your hair as normal. Upon completion add some juice from a real lemon to 1 ½ cup of water and rinse thoroughly with cold water.
It may also be a good idea to apply a hair finishing cream afterwards that promotes a shine enhancement. |
