Hair Razoring
Razoring is a fun technique that stylists use for fun wispy styles. They can use this technique to do the entire cut or just to add in finishing touches once the cut is established.
Do you want your hair razor cut? It’s generally not recommended if you have curly hair. The reason is the angle at which the razor cuts the ends of the hair is not usually conducive to a healthy looking haircut. A lot of times, people with curly hair who get razor haircuts end up looking like their hair is dried out and frizzy. One reason may be that the razor the stylist used wasn’t new and sharp. The other reason may be that they aren’t trained to razor cut that texture of hair. Very few stylists can cut curly hair successfully with a razor.
If you are looking for a wispy style or want less choppy looking layers with more finesse than regular scissor layering, then a razor cut may be just the thing for you. Your stylist can do this wet or dry. It may be a little uncomfortable as the razors slide better over wet hair, but if they can do it dry it helps them see just how those hairs are going to react to their method of razor cutting.
Have really bulky hair? You can have a razor cut to help thin that down! Razor cutting is a very popular way to thin out heavy hair. The more the stylist uses the razor, the lighter the hair becomes. It can be done in a way that looks haphazard or it can be done extremely precisely. And it doesn’t matter if your cut is really long or super short! Razor cutting can be done on any length.
The truth about razor cutting is this: if your stylist is a pro, this will be the best haircut you ever had! On the flip side, if they are just learning or their skills are a little rusty this may be your least favorite. Don’t be afraid to ask your stylist questions about their experience and training using razor cutting tools. You’re the one that has to live with the style once they are done with it.
